More movies were screened on Friday, the ninth day of the 42nd Fajr International Film Festival, the largest cinematic event in Iran.
On Saturday, the seventh day of the 40th Fajr International Theater Festival, the City Theater complex of the Iranian capital, Tehran, was the scene of several street and stage performances.
The closing ceremony of the 40th Fajr Film Festival was held in the presence of the filmmakers contesting the competition on Friday night in Milad Tower in Tehran. The films of “Mehdi’s Position”, “The Last Snow” and “The Grassland” won the main awards of this period.
The 37th Fajr Music Festival is being held in 9 other provinces of Iran in addition to the capital.
According to the Fajr Film Festival Public Relations’ Information Center, the jury of the 40th event, after reviewing 22 films, announced their nominations in various fields on the evening of February 10 and “Mehdi's Position” was nominated for most of the awards.
Day 10 of the International Fajr Film Fetival saw the screening of Zed – Against – directed by Amir Abbas Rabiei, which recounts a key moment in the early days of the Islamic revolution in Iran, and Khaen Koshi – Killing a Traitor - director by renowned Iranian film maker Masoud Kimiai, but even they failed to appease critics and heat up the festival.
On the ninth day of the International Fajr Film Festival, the movies "The Town" directed by Ali Hazrati and "2888" directed by Keyvan Alimohammadi and Ali Akbar Heydari were screened at the house of the festival, but both films failed to satisfy the critics.
On the eighth day of the Fajr Film Festival, "Without Roya", directed by Arian Vazir Daftari and "Without a Prior Appointment", directed by Behrouz Shoaibi were screened at the festival’s house. But neither of the two young filmmakers was able to win the approval of a majority of critics.
On the seventh day of the Fajr Film Festival, the films "The Night Guard" directed by "Reza Mirkarimi" and "Mahdi's Position" directed by "Hadi Hejazifar" were screened in Tehran’s Milad Tower.
On the sixth day of the Fajr Film Festival in Milad Tower, the two films of "Henas" directed by "Hossein Darabi" about the life of nuclear martyr Dariush Rezainejad and "Golden Night" directed by "Yousef Hatamikia", the son of the famous Iranian filmmaker Ebrahim Hatami Kia, were screened.
The 40th edition of Iran’s Fajr International Film Festival has entered its fifth day, with two more films going on screen at the country’s biggest cinematic event.
During the third day of Fajr Film Festival, underway in Tehran Milad Tower Complex, critics sat down to watch “Barf-e-Akhar” – Last Snow – directed by Amir Hossein Asgari and “Laye Haye Dorough” – Layers of Lie – directed by Ramin Sohrab as the first feature film, jointly produced by Iran and Finland.
