Deal of Century Not Even Deal of A Second, Iran’s Envoy Says

In a post on the Twitter account of the Iranian Embassy in France, Bahram Qassemi said, “Deal of the century is not even the deal of a moment and a second.”

“The world and the history of humanity have seen many of such inept delusionists and such ‘null’ bargains,” the ambassador added.

“Sovereignty and victory belongs to the nations,” Qassemi noted.

In a ceremony at the White House on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump unveiled his long-delayed Middle East plan, a proposal Palestinian leaders called a “conspiracy” that “will not pass”.

Major General Baqeri has also called on the Islamic nations to close ranks, set aside their differences by centering around Islam, and work in cooperation to support the Islamic resistance, according to IRNA.

The senior Iranian commander has finally urged the Islamic countries to make a concerted effort to expel the “usurpers and occupiers of the Islamic territories” and to take action against the US president’s move, which he said has defied logic and has violated the international law and regulations.

Nearly 800 Tonnes of Narcotics Seized in Iran in 10 Months

Speaking at the 86th meeting of the Committee on Combatting the Trafficking and Distribution of Drugs at Iran’s Anti-Narcotics Headquarters, the headquarters’ deputy commander for the international affairs and the fight against the smuggling and distribution of drugs, Nasser Aslani, gave a report of the Islamic Republic’s activities in the war on drugs during the first ten months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2019 – January 20, 2020).

He explained that Iran has begun to focus the efforts to combat drug trafficking on the intelligence and operational activities, noting that more than 798 tonnes of narcotic and psychedelic drugs have been captured in the 10-month period, which shows an 18 percent rise compared to the corresponding period a year before.

He said the illicit drugs seized in Iran during the 10-month period include 643,460 kilograms of opium (81% of the total), 16,756 kg of heroin (2% of total), 20,769 kg of morphine (2% of total), 68,973 kg of hashish (9% of total), 13,908 kg of crystal meth (2% of total), and 33,985 kg of other substances, which make up 4% of the total drug seizures.

Iran Urges Islamic States to Combat Trump’s ‘Fake’ Deal

Iran's Role in Regional Security Acknowledged by Asian States Larijani

Describing the deal as “breach of all the international agreements, rules and resolutions” he said the “US President is attempting to portray the occupation … as official, and to confiscate by force the unquestionable rights of a resistant nation in favor of a few Zionists, without referring to international organizations – including the UN – and consulting the Palestinian parties, merely based on private, factional and Zionist interests.”

Stressing that Islamic nations believe that the issue of Palestine is the main priority of the Islamic world, he called upon Islamic states “to make the necessary efforts to combat the fake plan”, support Iran’s proposal registered in the UN for holding a Palestinian referendum, and use diplomatic capacities to resolve the Palestinian crisis.

Some major Islamic states such as Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan and Egypt have shown support for the deal, whereas Turkey has described it as an “annexation plan aiming at usurping Palestinian lands and killing a two-state solution.”

In comments on Thursday, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyyed Abbas Mousavi gave an explanation of the procedures adopted by Tehran for combatting the coronavirus and the efforts to help the Iranian nationals residing in China’s Wuhan.

“As mentioned in the previous clarifications, right after receiving the first news of the outbreak of coronavirus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched round-the-clock efforts to handle various aspects of the issue and help the fellow citizens residing in the infected regions of China,” he said.

“Constant correspondence and coordination have been carried out with the domestic institutions to arrange the hygienic precautions, and our country’s Embassy in China has also adopted the necessary measures, and in some cases, a series of measures have been taken or are being taken and pursued in consultation with the associations of the Iranian expatriates (living in China),” he added.

“In the city of Wuhan, the epicenter of outbreak of the virus, our country’s Embassy has established constant contact with the Iranian university students from the very first hours. The primary purpose has been to pull the dear students and fellow citizens out of the city, as various procedures have been taken into account to do it via land transport and then with flights, but putting the plan into practice requires approval by the government of China in accordance with the healthcare and international regulations on prevention of spread of the virus in the other countries, so that it is necessary to carry out the (evacuation) plan by observing the aforementioned conditions,” Mousavi explained.

Mainstream Media Surprisingly Silent on Taliban Downing of US Plane

Mainstream Media Surprisingly Silent on Taliban Downing of US Plane

The silence fuels the speculation that it might be part of a coordinated effort by mainstream media to cover up the way the US plane crashed and how many people were on board.

No one can accept that the US Army needs six hours to confirm that the doomed plane was its aircraft, and after several days no one still knows about the number and identity of the passengers.

It seems the true details of the plane crash are too important to be released, as they may overshadow the Deal of the Century propaganda show, Iran’s Nour News reports.

In coming days, one can expect to find reason for such cover-up once the details are made clear.

Describing the deal as “one-sided” and a “strategic mistake”, he stressed that even “the deals in which Palestinians played a part was faced with failure, as they did not include the rights of all the Palestinians” let alone “such a deal in which Palestinians played no part,” news agency Tasnim quoted the Head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps General Yadollah Javani as saying.

“When a plan with such a content is broached, not only does it not bear fruit but also unites the Palestinian nation’s fight, and it seems that a new chapter has been opened in the fight for the liberation of Quds,” he added.

Persian Ancient Works Exhibition in Germany Cancelled Over US Sanctions

Persian Ancient Works Exhibition in Germany Cancelled Over US Sanctions

The exhibition of Persian ancient works which was due in next autumn has been cancelled because US sanctions ban insurance companies from providing the security of the ancient works, German news agency KNA quoted the director as saying.

Describing the decision as “very sad” he said “it was exactly in such situation which Museums could be the messengers of their countries.”

The exhibition had been planned to contain precious pieces of Persian ancient works dating back to fourth to sixth century B.C.E.
150 pieces of artworks from Baden Wurttemberg State also would have been on display in Tehran.

Dutsche Welle says that if the exhibition took place, it would count as the first direct exchange of historical works between Iran and Germany.

There have been few exchanges between European and Iranian museums, Paris Louvre Museum and London Victoria Albert Museum being among such museums.

President Highlights Iran’s Progress under Sanctions

President Rouhani on Tuesday inaugurated a new drinking water treatment plant in the Iranian capital and several other water and electricity projects in the province of Tehran.

In comments at the opening of the plant, the president lauded the Iranian people, authorities, companies, engineers, workers, and farmers for making great strides in developing the country over the past recent years.

Inauguration of several projects with a total value of more than 1,000 billion tomans in Tehran in a single day is a very significant measure that has been carried out under the foreign sanctions and economic pressures, the president noted.

The fact that Iran has completed 133 major projects on the water and electricity industries across 22 provinces only during four months indicates the power of the administration and people and the valuable efforts that have been made to help the country move forward, he added.

The president also noted that despite the tough sanctions and the heavy economic pressures, his administration has outdone the previous governments in the construction of water treatment plants.

President Rouhani said his administration has also outstripped its predecessors in the dam construction and sewage treatment industries.

He further denounced the “weak-minded” governments that seek to bring Iran to its knees, stressing that the Islamic Republic will continue to safeguard its independence and stand against the pressures.

President Rouhani finally lashed out at the US for its hostile policies against Iranians, saying Donald Trump’s administration is behaving cruelly not only towards the Iranian nation, but also towards the other nations such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Syrian and Lebanon.
