It’s Muharram, that month of the year on the Islamic lunar calendar when Shia Muslims mourn the martyrdom of Imam Hossein (PBUH), the third Shia Imam, and his companions in 680.
Mourning sessions were observed on the third night of the month at Shah Abdol-Azim Shrine in Rey, to the south of the Iranian capital of Tehran, on Saturday.
