The travel bans and home quarantine orders amidst the coronavirus pandemic significantly reduced air pollution; as the carbon monoxide levels, produced mainly by automobiles, has dropped by almost 50 percent as compared to 2019.
The carbon dioxide production, another phenomenon leading to global warming by increasing the world’s temperature, has also declined since the COVID-19 outbreak.
Forests are also relieved from the pollutant waste.
