Tehran’s District One: Combination of Tradition, Modernity

The Iranian capital’s District One is located in the north and northeast of Tehran and is one of the most popular tourist hubs of the city.

The area is surrounded by the southern slopes of the Alborz Mountain range on the north, Chamran Highway on the south, the Darakeh River on the west, and the Quchak Forest Park on the east.

The area is about 50 square kilometres and has a population of about 500,000.

This district has a pleasant climate, especially in the highlands, as well as in the rural areas. It is also home to numerous shopping malls, tourism centres, forest parks, shrines and mountainous paths including those of Darband, Darakeh, Tochal, etc.

The neighbourhoods of Ozgol, Aqdasieh, Elahieh, Evin, Bagh-e Ferdows, Tajrish, Dar-Abad, Darakah, Darband, Zaferaniyeh, Farmanieh, Fereshteh, Qeytarieh, Kamaraniyah, Mahmoudieh, Velenjak and Niavaran are all located in this district.
