Three American Rappers in Arba’een Pilgrimage

Three African-American rap artists have participated in this year’s Arba’een pilgrimage, the world’s largest religious gathering annually held in Iraq.

These three rap and hip-hop artists believe rap and pop music have to be “detoxificated.”

The theme of their songs are about spirituality, justice and combating moral corruption and violence.

According to a Farsi report by the Mashregh News Agency, the artists are the guests of New Horizon Conference which is going to be held by Iranian film director and producer Nader Talebzadeh in Najaf and Karbala this year.

In an interview with the daily, they stated their aspirations are satisfied with the culture of Imam Hussein (AS) and Arba’een; therefore, they have decided to participate in the religious trek to Karbala.

During the pilgrimage, these three artists performed pieces dedicated to Imam Hussein (AS) which was liked by the audience.
