US Magazine Asvises Tourists to Visit Iran’s Pink Mosque

Condé Nast, one of the world’s most widely circulated tourism publications, has published a list of the world’s top 19 holy sites, including churches, hills and ancient temples, at a time when many borders have been closed due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The Pink Mosque in Shiraz is the selected image of this list.

US Magazine Asvises Tourists to Visit Iran’s Pink MosqueThe Nasir al-Mulk Mosque, known to most foreign tourists as the “Pink Mosque”, is the fifth holiest place offered to adventurers and spiritual travellers in the report of this popular tourism magazine.

The mosque is famous for its dazzling tile colours and unique combination of stained glass and mosaic tiles. It was built in 1888 during Qajar dynasty rule of Iran. Construction began in 1876 upon the order of the late Hassan Ali Nasir al-Molk, one of the lords and aristocrats of Shiraz.

It is named in popular culture as the Pink Mosque, due to the usage of a considerable number of pink-coloured tiles for its interior design.

Condé Nast suggests travellers to visit the mosque early in the morning to have the best view.

Plasma Therapy Raises Hopes of COVID-19 Patients in Iran

142 More Iranains Die of COVID-19: Ministry

Hassan Abolqasemi said the first step of research on plasma treatment of corona patients has been completed.

In the first stage, he noted, the plasma of the recovered patients was injected to 50 people who were either seriously ill or in critical condition. Although the final results of the study have not yet been announced, evaluations show the timing of plasma injection in COVID-19 patients is of great importance in improving their condition.

The group of patients, who received plasma during the first week of hospitalisation, recovered more rapidly and a significant number of them were discharged; but the recovery rate was lower among patients hospitalised for more than a week. So, one hypothesis is that if the plasma is injected in the early days of the disease, the chances of patients recovery will increase, he continued.

“In the next step, the patients were divided into two groups. The first group received plasma and the second group remained without plasma,” ISNA quoted the head of the Corona Plasma Treatment Research Team as saying.

The results of the study of these two groups show that plasma injection has significant positive results, underlined Abolqassemi, saying although the scientific result of the work has not been published yet, plasma injection has had a definite positive effect on many patients.

“For example, a group of patients who were supposed to be transferred to the ICU and needed an artificial respiration device were saved by a plasma injection, and a significant number of them were discharged from the hospital.”

Abolqassemi explained the next step in the project is to produce corona antibody immunoglobulin from the plasma of the recovered.

He continued that researchers are working on a step-by-step plan to develop a plasma-based medicine for the treatment of corona if it is successful.

This Iranian scientist also emphasised the whole plasma therapy process for corona disease patients in Iran is free.

“With the cooperation of the Blood Transfusion Organisation of Iran and the financial support provided by the private sector and the Darman Darou Company, it is free to receive plasma, and patients do not have to worry about it. We have been active in this field for many years and Iran is one of the leaders in this type of treatment in the world.

If you are worried that you may have contracted the Coronavirus, take this test right now.

Fortunately, using the experience of previous years, we put corona treatment with plasma on the agenda which showed promising results in the first steps. We hope in the next stages, it will be possible to expand this type of treatment in the country.”

From the early days of corona outbreak in Iran back in March, a group of Iranian researchers began working on the treatment of the disease with plasma. After Iran, a number of other countries started working on this type of treatment, and according to the US Food and Drug Administration, plasma treatment has begun in this country as well.

The two presidents also congratulated each other on the beginning of the holy Muslim month of Ramadan and discussed the latest status of the ties and cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

On the outbreak of the coronavirus infection and the difficulties caused by the pandemic in nearly all countries in the world, President Rouhani and his Tajik counterpart emphasized the necessity for close interaction between the officials of the two states in order to promote cooperation and share the experiences in the battle with the virus.

The two presidents also stressed the need for the Iranian and Tajik authorities to step up efforts to restore the economic and trade ties between two sides to the previous level in full compliance with the health instructions, adding, “The nations and governments of Iran and Tajikistan have always stood by each other and will continue to do so.”

In the conversation, President Rouhani highlighted Iran’s success in producing the coronavirus diagnostic test kits and other medical supplies for the battle with the infectious disease, stressing, “We are prepared to fulfill the needs of Tajikistan, as a friend and brother, in this field to the extent we can.”

For his part, President Rahmon lauded Iran’s success in the fight against COVID-19 and the Iranian government’s wise handling of the situation, noting, “Further enhancement of relations and cooperation with Iran is a key policy of Tajikistan in foreign interaction.”

President Warns US of Retaliation If Iran’s Tankers Threatened

President Rouhani and his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev in a telephone conversation on Wednesday hailed the friendly and growing ties between Iran and Uzbekistan, and called for closer interaction between the two countries’ officials to promote and strengthen relations in all fields.

The two presidents also congratulated each other on the start of the Muslim month of Ramadan, and expressed hope that all nations would join hands to overcome the existing challenges.

The Iranian and Uzbek presidents then pointed to the difficulties and problems that the coronavirus outbreak has created in the majority of countries in the world, calling for the promotion of cooperation and rapport between the nations and governments in the battle with the disease.

Discussing the status of bilateral relations and cooperation between Tehran and Tashkent in various arenas, President Rouhani and President Mirziyoyev agreed that the two countries would expand ties in various fields, broaden mutual banking cooperation, facilitate the visa application process for the business people, and restore the economic and trade ties to the previous level in conformity with the health protocols.

Iran, Austria Rap US Sanctions on Tehran amid Corona Pandemic

President Rouhani said the US keeps cruel sanctions on Iran’s pharmaceutical and medical needs, despite the current difficult conditions to combat COVID-19.

In a phone call with Alexander Van der Bellen on Wednesday he reiterated that the US government was even strongly against Iran’s borrowing money from the International Monetary Fund to fight the virus.

“We believe the European Union should take more serious action in the current situation regrading its commitments to international issues and the JCPOA.”

He further noted Europe’s efforts to counter this pandemic and to help countries as well as ending unlawful sanctions are important, “and I hope we will see a new movement and initiative on the part of Europe.”

Rouhani stressed that in the current context of the global outbreak of corona, all efforts should be focused on lifting sanctions and resolving disputes as well as ending wars and conflicts.

“The Islamic Republic seeks peace and stability in the region and expects Europe to put pressure on the Zionist regime not to allow to continue its attacks on Syria and Lebanon, and its siege of Gaza Strip without paying attention to the global pandemic,” added Rouhani.

In turn, Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen touched upon his country’s interest in developing cooperation with Iran as well as Vienna’s readiness to transfer experiences in the fight against COVID-19.

He said Austria and the European Union oppose US sanctions on Iran and will continue their cooperation with Tehran.

The Austrian president further stressed that the US move contradicts international treaties and is against international law.

“We are trying to improve relations between Iran and Europe without being influenced by the United States,” underscored Van der Bellen.

The two presidents also stressed the need to boost the INSTEX mechanism.

In the end, the Presidents of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Austria put stress on the need for comprehensive international cooperation to combat a pandemic, expressing readiness to share experiences in dealing with the disease and develop their joint cooperation in this regard.

Iran Once Again Denies Torturing Afghan Migrants at Border

Iran Once Again Denies Torturing Afghan Migrants at Border

“As earlier stated by various Iranian officials, the Islamic Republic strongly denies the reports that Iranian border guards have forced a number of Afghan citizens to cross Harirud River, causing a (deadly) incident for them,” Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said on Wednesday.

He made the remarks in reaction to the media hype created by certain foreign media outlets funded by petrodollars regarding the incident that happened to the Afghan nationals near Iran’s border.

“Despite the fact that the issue has nothing to do with Iran, due to the request of Afghan officials, the foreign ministry of the Islamic Republic sent an official note to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tehran on Wednesday, announcing the readiness of Tehran to work jointly with the Afghan side to investigate the allegations.

“This was done due to brotherly ties based on the principles of goodwill and good neighbourliness between the two countries,” noted Mousavi in response to questions raised by journalists.

He also stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers its borders with Afghanistan as the borders of peace and friendship, highlighting its determination and will to continue friendly and brotherly relations with the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan based on mutual respect.

Earlier, some media reported that Iranian border guards tortured and threw Afghans into Harirud River to prevent their entry into Iran.

The Iranian consulate in Herat denied in a statement the allegations of torture and subsequent drowning of dozens of migrant workers by border police saying Iranian border guards have not detained any Afghan migrants.

The Harirud River basin is shared by Afghanistan, Iran and Turkmenistan.

Taherian travelled to Kabul in recent weeks to meet with the country’s leaders, including Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah. He also presented Iran’s positions and proposals for resolving the country’s current political problems.

Further he announced the Islamic Republic’s readiness to provide all-out assistance to Afghanistan to get out of the current political stalemate.

Why I’m Not Allowed to Gamble as a Muslim

The process of globalization has made many harmful behaviors to become seemingly normal, including gambling. However, in Islam, gambling (maisir) is strictly forbidden by the laws of shari’a and there is no circumstance under which it is allowed.

You may be wondering why exactly gambling is forbidden and if you are you have come to the right place. Regardless of the advertisements you may have seen or the fact that sites like SugarHouse Casino online openly offer gambling even across the internet, you should not be fooled into believing you are allowed to gamble if you want to practice Islam.

We go into some specific reasons why gambling is prohibited and also examine the harm you may be doing to yourself and others by participating in such behavior.

A Losing Proposition for Both Sides

Gambling may seem like an easy way to make some money fast or simply a means for entertainment. You may think that if you gamble for money you can afford, then you are not really committing a sin. However, this could not be further from the truth as it is not only the immediate financial risk that is problematic with gambling.

The biggest issue with gambling, as modern medicine and psychology have discovered and Islamic scholars knew long ago, is that it is addictive. Gambling leads to more gambling, almost without exception, and getting involved with it can greatly corrupt a man, influencing both his mind and body.

What’s even more, the financial gain from gambling is always temporary for the winning player, as further gambling will only result in losing both the winnings and more. For the one organizing the game, profit is made with no real effort or risk, making it highly immoral in the eyes of the Islamic scholars.

What Games Are Forbidden?

There is some discussion as to what kinds of games are forbidden in Islam and what must happen in order for a game to not be allowed. While many modern gambling games did not exist at the time when these rules were put into place, the basic premise is quite simple. Gambling money or other material goods on anything, regardless of the actual game, is forbidden.

What’s even more, using game props such as cards, blocks, dice or other similar items that are associated with gambling is prohibited even if no money is being exchanged. The reason for this stems from the fact that use of such items may entice others to play the game for real money or even lead you to believe that you are winning at the game and should try to play it for money.

If you want a definitive answer to the question which gambling games are forbidden in Islam, it is actually quite simple! Any game that involves any type of gambling is prohibited and if you have any doubt about a game, you should probably still stay away from it to keep safe.

Save Yourself and Others from Risks

As we already mentioned, Muslims should not participate in any form of gambling for both the financial and psychological harms that it may cause. For this reason, Islam strictly prohibits gambling and it is a sin for any Muslim to gamble.

By staying away from games of chance, you are doing good not only to yourself but also your friends, peers and family who will not be exposed to the dangers that such games can bring. There is a very good reason the Prophet preached against gambling and those who follow his word should accept that gambling brings no advantage and severe disadvantages.
