The Iraqi parliament speaker has apologized for not being able to attend the Iranian president’s oath-taking ceremony.

Iraqi Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri has, in an announcement, apologized for not being able to attend Iranian President-elect Hassan Rouhani’s swearing-in ceremony, which was held on August 5, 2017.

The top Iraqi parliamentarian said he would not be able to take part due to his tight schedule at the Iraqi Parliament where the country’s election law is being ratified.
