Iranian police nab drugs haul after chase

The Iranian police stopped a sedan carrying over 350 kilos of drugs after a chase and shooting in the central province of Qom on Thursday.

The security forces arrested three people during the operation.

Iran is a major transit route for drug trafficking from its eastern neighbor Afghanistan to European countries.

Afghanistan is a major supplier of the vast majority of the world’s opium and heroin.

The Islamic Republic has been praised by international organizations for its role in cutting supply lines to the West.
