Trade between Russia and China has maintained its brisk momentum since reaching record levels in 2022, with exports and imports experiencing robust growth since the start of 2023, the Russian Customs Service has reported.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has confirmed that he will travel to China next month on his first foreign trip of 2023. During the visit, Putin will meet his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.

China has voiced support for Russia after a short-lived insurrection posed the gravest challenge to the 23-year rule of President Vladimir Putin of Russia, a close partner of Chinese leader Xi Jinping in his push “for a new world order and strategic alignment against the US.”
