Although people residing in the cities of Qasr-e Shirin, Kermanshah and Sarpol-e Zahab near the western border with Iraq had been under Iraqi artillery fire for a month, no one would have thought that Iraq wanted to launch a war against Iran to conquer the country.

Speaking in a weekly cabinet session on Wednesday, President Hassan Rouhani said US authorities are hatching plots against Iran at a time when they themselves have difficulties.
“The Americans themselves are bogged down in a very difficult situation,” he said.

“If you have seen their debate last night, or if you read about it in media and on the internet today, you’ll realize what situation they are in,” he added.

“On the one hand, they have had the worst management with regards to the coronavirus pandemic, and they are gripped by the worst unemployment rate today,” he said.

“On the other hand, domestic unrest inside the US is worse than before; moreover, they have not made any achievements in the foreign policy arena,” he added.

“They were unsuccessful in foreign policy, not only towards Iran, but towards the region or the Pacific or Europe or NAFTA. They were unsuccessful in the foreign policy domain everywhere,” President Rouhani noted.

“It is natural that a country with so many problems wants to spread its difficulties to the world outside the US,” he said.

“Under such circumstances, they are hatching plots against Iran,” he said.

“Today, the US is applying the most hostile, criminal and terrorist policies vis-à-vis the Iranian nation and against 84 million Iranian people,” he noted.

He then urged all to stay united to tackle the existing problems caused by the US pressure.

Muscat's Ties with Tehran Very Significant to Oman's New Sultan

In a meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday, Omani envoy Ibrahim bin Ahmad Al-Moeini said the Sultanate of Oman is determined to promote cooperation with Iran in all fields of mutual interest, especially the economic ties.

The Sultan of Oman attaches great importance to relationship with Iran, the ambassador added, saying the two countries constitute the “strategic depth” of each other.

“We believe that Iran is a treasure trove of economic, scientific, technical and cultural opportunities that must be seized,” Al-Moeini stated, adding that the “sustainable and developing” economic ties between Tehran and Muscat would grow more rapidly.

In turn, President Rouhani expressed Iran’s interest in the enhancement of relations with “brotherly and friendly” Oman in various fields.

“The relations between Iran and Oman that are based upon good neighborliness, friendship and fraternity must continue to grow, particularly in the economic sphere,” he said.

Highlighting the major role of banking and financial cooperation in the promotion of economic ties, President Rouhani finally hoped that Iran and Oman would strengthen their economic interaction to serve the interests of the two nations.

Iran Reaffirms Respect for Azerbaijan Republic’s Territorial Integrity

Mahmoud Vaezi, the chief of staff of the Iranian president, made the remarks in a Wednesday phone conversation with Azeri Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev.
“The Azerbaijan Republic enjoys an important and special place in the Islamic Republic of Iran’s foreign policy, and we have always seized every opportunity to boost and expand our relations with this country,” said Vaezi.

The Iranian official expressed concern over the conflict and dispute between the Azerbaijan Republic and Armenia.

“We monitor the recent developments carefully and seriously, and we stand ready to offer any assistance to help settle the differences between the two countries within the framework of international law and regulations,” he added.

Vaezi then denied rumours spread by some media and social networks suggesting Iran is offering assistance to Armenia in its conflict with the Azerbaijan Republic.

“These rumours are completely baseless and are aimed at straining good relations between Iran and the Azerbaijan Republic,” he said.

“Undoubtedly, good, strategic and all-out relations between Tehran and Baku will not be swayed by such groundless rumours, and moves by ill-wishers of the two countries’ relations will be to no avail,” Vaezi added.

The Azeri official, in turn, said in the phone talk that Iran is a good neighbour of the Azerbaijan Republic and that the two sides enjoy cordial ties. He said the two countries should not allow their good relations to be affected by efforts aimed at spoiling those ties.
He said Iran and the Azerbaijan Republic have religious, cultural and social commonalities, adding mutual relations stand at a very good level today.

VR’s Impact on Gaming – What’s Yet to Come

VR’s Impact on Gaming - What’s Yet to Come

Because of the financial restrictions, there is not yet a demand for virtual gaming. It is often difficult for virtual reality to live up to the expectations demanded of it as the expectations are very high.

However, the potential of virtual reality almost offsets the lack of demand, because once the technology is mastered or at least controlled, then the demand will immediately skyrocket. The experiences that could be had on virtual reality would be unlike anything that anyone has really experienced before.

Total immersion into a virtual world has never occurred before and it is easy to see why the gaming world, already adept at escapism and immersion into an online world, want to see this develop.

Current Virtual Reality Systems

At the moment, the most accessible form of virtual reality for the average consumer would be a virtual reality headset. There are several options in this area, with some that have considerably disappointed and other headsets that have achieved relative success.

The issue with headsets is that they do not truly offer virtual reality, as they tend to offer three degrees of freedom (3DOF) motion tracking rather than six degrees of freedom (6DOF). This means that the device tracks your directions but not your position.

They tend to come with one controller which is also 3DOF, which does allow for decent hand movement, so the experience is legitimately a virtual reality one.

The Oculus Rift is possibly the most famous example of this, and it costs around 450 euros. It was the first big virtual reality headset sold on the market and is still one of the industries’ biggest names. It is compatible with Steam VR which is essential if you want to play many different games.

The PlayStation VR is another one of the biggest systems on the market. Sony has backed and developed it a lot more than their main rivals Microsoft. Its advantage is that you only need a PS4, so it is a lot more affordable because it does not require an expensive, high end gaming computer.

You can use a PS4 controller the system, but this is actually inconvenient for two reasons. Firstly, the controller’s motion system is frankly outdated and are inferior to other controllers on the market. Secondly, the controllers do not always come with the system and they are expensive.

Limitations of Virtual Reality

Despite its potential, there are still reasons that Virtual Reality has not taken off like it was supposed to. Currently, the best and most worthy virtual reality experiences are very expensive and requires a preposterous amount of wires and electric power. Just setting up your game is a challenge in of itself, and it will cost thousands of euros.

Additionally, customers note that they start to get motion sickness after about half an hour. Like being at sea, our body is experiencing a new state of being and if the game is not extremely smooth then it will give the player headaches, and there is no point paying and setting up so much just to get motion sickness thirty minutes in.

Online Casinos

Recently, virtual reality sports have risen massively in online casinos like Findbettingsites casino. With less and less reliance on the physical world, betting could become totally virtual and unique to every gambler. The games are becoming more and more advanced and gamblers are enjoying this foray into combining virtual reality and online casinos to make even more personal gambling.

Virtual Reality Games

Despite this technology being in its infancy, video game developers have still made over 500 virtual reality games. These include standalone games but also overhauls of games and add-ons to already existing games.

The most exciting game is probably Half Life: Alyx. This game comes Valve, the company that brought us Portal and Half Life. Overall, the game is enjoyable, and the experience is immersive, and most gamers reported that motion sickness only affected them after about two hours.

However, the action is not at the level of the best current video games or of the previous Half Life games. Despite this, it shows that good video game developers can make very playable games in virtual reality if given the opportunity.

Microsoft and Sony

Despite other companies investing into virtual reality, it is the two giants of the video game industry that have the hopes of games. The two companies have shown very different attitudes to virtual reality.

Microsoft launched the Kinect a few years back in an early foray into virtual reality, and it could only have been described as a flop. Since then, they have been reticent in investing too much into this.

Sony on the other hand have been making strides to dominate this sector of the industry, and are including virtual reality compatibility with their PS5, which is not the case with the next-gen Xbox.

In a Tuesday meeting with Norway’s new ambassador to Iran, President Rouhani highlighted the Scandinavian country’s support for the 2015 nuclear deal and its opposition to unilateralism.

He also noted that Norway’s membership in the United Nations Security Council provides an ideal opportunity to strengthen multilateralism and promote global cooperation for peace and stability in the international arena.

Tehran and Oslo have always held amicable and friendly relations, President Rouhani noted, adding, “In their talks, the officials of the two countries have also highlighted the ample opportunities for economic, scientific and technological cooperation as well as the expansion of bilateral relations and interaction.”

For his part, the incoming Norwegian ambassador, Sigvald Tomin Hauge, thanked Iran for supporting Norway’s membership in the UN Security Council.

“Norway has always voiced strong support for the JCPOA, and is one of the parties to the INSTEX financial mechanism,” he stressed.

In a Tuesday meeting with new Danish Ambassador to Tehran, Jesper Vahr, the Iranian president highlighted the significance of opening of a joint medical and pharmaceutical centre in Iran amid the COVID-19 pandemic, while all countries need to work together in the health and medical fields.

Expressing Tehran’s readiness to broaden economic, trade and technological relations with Copenhagen, President Rouhani said, “Denmark’s stances in support of the JCPOA were constructive, and I hope that the cooperation between the two countries would grow further in various fields.”

Denouncing the cruel sanctions imposed on Iran by the US, the president said Washington is committing the gravest violation of human rights by preventing the delivery of medicine and medical items to Iran for the battle with the coronavirus or by selling arms to certain regional countries for the massacre of Yemeni people.

The president also deplored the US Police’ violence against the people of colour.

For his part, the Danish envoy highlighted the constructive interaction between Denmark and Iran since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1933.

Vahr said Denmark is one of the main shareholders in the Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges (INSTEX) – a financial mechanism set up by the EU for trade with Iran in defiance of the US sanctions – and has always supported the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Denmark has always sought to enhance economic, scientific, and trade relations with Iran from the bottom of heart, the ambassador noted, describing the opening of the joint medical centre with Iran as a sign of his country’s commitment to the promotion of ties with Iran.
