Iran, Saudi Arabia Take Part in Joint Naval Drills

Iran and Saudi Arabia were confirmed as participants in the “Aman 2017” naval drills held in Pakistani waters on Friday.

Tehran and Riyadh, the two regional rivals, participated in the opening ceremony on Friday with 34 other countries around the world, Jasarat News Agency reported on Friday.
“The multinational exercise Aman-17 formally commenced on Friday at Pakistan Navy Dockyard, under the aegis of Pakistan Navy with a colourful flag hoisting ceremony with Navy band playing national songs,” the news agency added.
The countries participating in these naval drills include Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Kuwait, Qatar, Tanzania, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Poland, Maldives, Bahrain, China, Oman, Morocco, Italy, Iran, Indonesia, France, Nigeria, Denmark, Russia, Japan, Italy, Turkey, Iran, South Africa, Malaysia, Egypt, France, Philippines, North Sudan, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Australia, South Korea, Sri Lanka, the United Kingdom and the United States.
