Commenting on recent statements made about some Arab countries’ willingness to normalise relations with the Zionist regime of Israel, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said, “Perhaps, some states aim to do that, but their success would be highly unlikely.”
“If you pay attention to the recent talks between the Israeli regime’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Russian President Vladimir Putin, you will realise that they will not let peace be established in the region.”
Addressing a press conference on March 13, he added, “Netanyahu’s remark [that Iran has sought to destroy the Jewish people since 2,500 years ago] shows that there has been an objective behind the adventures followed in the region.”
According to a report by IFP, Larijani slammed efforts made by some states to decide the fate of countries through military moves and measures, saying the Syrian people being able to rule the country is the only scenario which is in the interest of the nation.
Larijani said Iran is absolutely against those countries which seek to impose their ideas on the Syrian people, warning that the same policy is being adopted towards Bahrain.
Asked whether the entry of the US armed forces in Syria has been made in coordination with Iran, the parliament speaker noted that, “I guess that you know the answer. No coordination was made for the move. It is not in their interest to enter the Syrian territory this way.”
Larijani said nobody should expect a country which believes in religious democracy to approve of, for instance, the behaviour which is being shown towards Yemen.
Yemeni Muslims are being bombarded under the baseless pretext that they maintain a negative stance, he noted, adding it is not an appropriate behaviour.
