At a 39th session of the World Heritage Committee held in Bonn, Germany, Iran’s Susa was registered as the 18th Iranian cultural heritage site on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Susa was a millennia-old city of the Elamite and Parthian empires in what is today Khuzestan Province. The ancient city was also a winter capital and residence for Achaemenid kings.
