Iran Urges Stronger Tehran-Muscat Ties under New Sultan

Hassan Rouhani - President of the Islamic Republic of Iran

He made the comments in a congratulatory message to new Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.

“Ties between Iran and Oman were based of mutual trust during the reign of the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said. I hope that bilateral relations will further deepen in the future,” reads Rouhani‘s message.

In another message, the president sent a message of condolences over the passing of Omani King Sutan Qaboos.

He said Tehran-Muscat ties during the rule of Sultan Qaboos was a model of good relations between neighbouring countries.

Rouhani said he was a wise politician who played a crucial role in establishing peace and stability in the region.

“During his five decades of rule, he took many steps for the prosperity and welfare of his people and country.

He also founded the ties between Tehran and Muscat on the basis of friendship and brotherhood,” reads Rouhani’s message.

On Sunday, world leaders and the people of Oman paid tributes to Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said, the Arab world’s longest-serving ruler who died on Friday at 79.

Sultan Qaboos bin Said’s diplomacy during five decades in power helped calm be restored in the region.

Iran Says Will Sue Trump for Ordering Soleimani’s Assassination

US Protests to Engulf Entire America: Iran's Top Judge

“In our view, because martyr Soleimani was the symbol of combating terrorism and supporting the oppressed, his assassination violates every law,” said Raisi in a meeting of high-level Judiciary officials on Monday.

He added that the violation can be followed up and “I call upon law scholars to shout their protest … The US claims to hold power but has flagrantly violated the law and committed such a horrific crime, so, if we condone the US violation, we will not be able to follow up any others.”

“We should collar American President as the first defendant. He should be prosecuted and taken to court in front of the world,” Raisi said.

Iran Warns UK against Meddling in Its Domestic Affairs

Iran Warns UK against Meddling in Its Domestic Affairs

Ali Rabiei said on Monday that the presence of the British ambassador in the unlawful protests was contrary to his duties as an ambassador.

He was briefly arrested by the law enforcement and released minutes after being identified, noted Rabiei during a press briefing.

The government spokesman said the British ambassador’s move was unacceptable, and Tehran has protested the British government as London does not have a good record.

Ukraine Plane Crash

He further pointed to the recent crash of the Ukrainian passenger plane, which was accidentally shot down by Iran’s air defence.

He said Iran will not allow anyone to be pleased about the weakening of armed forces.

Expressing condolences over the death of the passengers of the Ukrainian airliner, Rabiei stressed that none of the government officials were aware of the main cause of the plane crash until Friday evening.

“We were accused of lying and concealing the truth while it really was not so. Many said I lied in my statement that was released on Thursday night, but the truth is that we didn’t lie. What I said on Thursday was based on the observation of a massive US psychological war against the Iranian people, and on the other hand, it was based on information that was available to the government saying that the missiles had no role in the incident.”

Rabiei also apologised to the Iranian nation and journalists for the misinformation.

Ukraine International Airlines flight PS752 bound for Kyiv crashed minutes after take-off from the Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran on Wednesday, killing all 176 people on board.

It happened just hours after Iran launched missile attacks on US forces in Iraq in retaliation for the US assassination of top Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad.

Later, Tehran admitted that the armed forces mistakenly shot down the passenger plane.

CMMS Software: Automate Maintenance, Minimize Downtime

Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) can help fill this requirement, these software applications can take the guesswork out of regular maintenance and give your maintenance team the assistance they require, allowing them to focus on more pressing tasks.

What is CMMS?

A Computerized Maintenance Management Systems or CMMS software is designed to take care of almost all platform maintenance requirements. These software applications have some core features like;

Work Order Software

Work Order Software or Work Order Tracking is one of the most useful features of any CMMS. This feature allows maintenance managers to monitor the progress of all work orders and maintenance work being undertaken across an organization. This ensures that work orders are being executed according to schedule.

Work Order Software also allows maintenance managers to update work orders to streamline regular maintenance of the platform. The Work Order Software within a CMMS allows maintenance managers to set up automation, alerts, and notifications to ensure that all work orders and scheduled maintenance tasks are being executed on time.

Task Templates for Regular Maintenance

Task templates for regular maintenance tasks like the monthly inspection of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) of a facility ensure that such critical maintenance tasks are never missed by the maintenance team.

These reusable task templates allow maintenance managers to pass on instructions such as best practices to their team in one shot and saves them the time of having to re-enter work instructions for regularly occurring maintenance activities.

CMMS Reporting Module

The CMMS reporting module allows maintenance managers to provide reports and statistics of maintenance activities to the upper management of an organization. There are a number of maintenance statistics like machine downtime, preventive maintenance reports, pending and active work orders, etc., that the upper management would be interested in as these reports help them gauge the status of maintenance and figure out areas of improvement.

Equipment Downtime Reports

More often than not, the maintenance problems faced by an organization are caused by the breakdown of a piece of equipment. CMMS allows maintenance managers to create individual equipment downtime reports and provides historical data on the maintenance and breakdowns a specific piece of equipment has faced in the past. This allows maintenance managers to determine whether a piece of equipment is faulty and needs to be replaced, this can save an organization a considerable amount of time and money.

Streamline Workflow for Maintenance Technicians

A web-based CMMS can be extremely helpful for maintenance managers and maintenance technicians to track the status of work orders. Using a web-based CMMS, maintenance technicians can see their pending work orders and even close work orders remotely from a desktop, laptop or even a mobile device. This allows maintenance managers to get the real-time status of various maintenance tasks being undertaken and allows maintenance technicians to update the status of maintenance tasks in real-time.

Preventive Maintenance

A robust Preventive Maintenance program is crucial to the longevity of an organization’s assets. CMMS help organizations implement strong preventive maintenance programs, thereby, minimizing downtime of equipment and critical infrastructure. A strong preventive maintenance program also minimizes emergency repairs on equipment and can save an organization a considerable amount of time and money.

CMMS Software: Automate Maintenance, Minimize DowntimeInventory Management

Effective CMMS also help organizations with inventory management. The CMMS will gauge which parts or pieces of equipment are reaching the end of their lifecycle and will automatically send an alert to order replacements. The inventory management within a CMMS will also intimate all relevant parties when a new part needs to be ordered or replaced. This automated inventory management can save an organization a lot of time and money and drastically reduce the downtime of equipment.

Vendor and Resource Management

A good CMMS will allow maintenance managers to send requests or work orders to vendors with the click of a button. The CMMS will also be able to assign appropriate resources to the right people to complete maintenance tasks on time, this effective targeting of resources can drastically reduce the operational costs of an organization and will improve overall operational efficiencies.

Real-Time Site and Floor Plans

A crucial feature of a well-designed CMMS is the presence of a real-time site and floor plan, which allows for easy management and maintenance. The real-time site and floor plans allow maintenance managers to monitor which pieces of equipment require maintenance or repair and where they are located. This allows organizations to predict when a piece of equipment might need to be replaced and allows them to arrange for a replacement in advance.

Barcode Scanning

CMMS software that comes equipped with a barcode scanning facility allows storeroom supervisors to retrieve data on work orders, purchase orders, replacement parts, spare parts, and equipment with ease. This helps storeroom managers and accountants monitor the cost of events and extraordinary expenditures, allowing them to make necessary adjustments to the cash flow.

Conclusion

A robust CMMS software can be an invaluable tool for any organization, as it helps improve overall operational efficiencies. The features that most of these software applications carry can be used across departments to improve workflow and minimize downtime of any processes. So if you are wondering how you can reduce your overheads and maximize your returns taking a look at some CMMS software might be a great idea.

Iranian, Pakistani FMs Meet in Tehran

Iranian, Pakistani FMs Meet in Tehran

During the Monday meeting, the two top diplomats conferred on bilateral relations and regional issues, particularly the de-escalation of tension in the Persian Gulf region.

The Pakistani foreign minister arrived in Tehran on Saturday, but his meeting with Zarif was postponed over the Iranian top diplomat’s trip to Muscat, where he held talks with the new Sultan of Oman.

On Saturday night, Shah Mehmood Qureshi met with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

Rouhani told Qureshi that the current situation in the region is very sensitive, adding the outbreak of war and tensions in the region can be “very dangerous.”

“While being fully prepared to safeguard its interests, the Islamic Republic of Iran never seeks to fuel the flames of war in the region; hence, the operation we conducted against a US base [in Iraq] was, in fact, a response to the United States’ criminal act (assassination of General Soleimani),” said the president.

He said dialogue and closer cooperation among Muslims nations and governments in the region will benefit all, adding divisions and war would harm everyone.

The Pakistani foreign minister, in turn, said he will not allow Pakistani territory to be used for threatening other countries, especially Iran.

“Pakistan regards itself as a partner to peace and stability for the Islamic Republic of Iran, and never wants to contribute to a conflict that would harm the region, Iran in particular,” said Pakistan’s foreign minister.

Law Designating US Forces as Terrorists Takes Effect

Hassan Rouhani - President of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Earlier on 7 January 2020, the three-article law was passed by the Iranian Parliament, and later confirmed by the Guardian Council.

The lawmakers unanimously voted for the emergency motion to designate the US forces as terrorists in response to a recent move by Washington to assassinate Iran’s revered commander, Lt. General Qassem Soleimani.

General Soleimani, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, who was the deputy head of Iraq’s Hashd al-Sha’abi (PMU), and a number of their entourage were killed in a strike by American drones near Baghdad International Airport on Friday, January 3.

The White House and the Pentagon claimed responsibility for the assassination of General Soleimani in Iraq, saying the attack was carried out at the direction of US President Donald Trump.

Syrian Prime Minister in Tehran for Talks

In a ceremony on Monday, Iranian First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri officially welcomed his counterpart Imad Khamis.

Private negotiations between the two officials are beginning in minutes.

Accompanied by Syrian Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Walid al-Muallem and Defence Minister General Ali Abdullah Ayyoub, the Syrian Prime Minister is due to have meetings with high-level Iranian officials.

He said dialogue and closer cooperation among Muslims nations and governments in the region will benefit all, adding divisions and war would harm everyone.

President Rouhani further emphasized the need to enhance Tehran-Islamabad relations.

“Relations with Pakistan are of utmost importance to Iran, and we attach great significance to the promotion of relations with this country,” he said.

“Borders of Iran and Pakistan should be borders of peace and friendship, and we should not allow some groupings to make our borders insecure,” the Iranian president said.

He urged all countries to categorically condemn the United States’ state terrorism.

The Pakistani foreign minister, in turn, said he will not allow Pakistani territory to be used for threatening other countries, especially Iran.
