Iran’s Araqchi to Visit Baku, Yerevan, Ankara, Moscow to Discuss Karabakh

Iran's Araqchi to Visit Baku, Yerevan, Ankara, Moscow to Discuss Karabakh

According to Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh, Araqchi will first visit Iranian border regions to see first-hand the latest developments on the ground.

Araqchi’s tour will later take him to Baku, Moscow, Yerevan and Ankara, Khatibzadeh said.

During his Tuesday visit to border areas in the northwestern province of Ardabil, near the Republic of Azerbaijan, Araqchi warned the warring parties in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to prevent any harm to the security of Iranian territories.

Commenting on the escalation of fighting between Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region, the Iranian diplomat said, “The security of border regions, dams, and constructions is highly significant for the Islamic Republic of Iran and is a red line.”

The deputy foreign minister underlined that the two neighbouring states must prevent any damage to the Iranian border sites and zones amid the fighting.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has major water and electricity facilities at the Aras border river,” Araqchi noted, saying he would visit those sites in the trip.

The ranking Iranian diplomat visited a number of dams in the provinces of Ardabil and East Azarbaijan during the Tuesday visit.

The Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia have been locked in a bitter conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, as the fighting has escalated over the past recent weeks.

The two neighbours of Iran have agreed to respect a new humanitarian ceasefire in the conflict that took effect on Monday.

Dozens of rockets and mortar shells fired during the armed clashes have fell in Iran, damaging rural houses and injuring civilians.

Iran Says It’s Time for US Gov’t to Set Aside Obstinacy

Iran Says It’s Time for US Gov’t to Set Aside Obstinacy

Speaking in his weekly press conference, Ali Rabiei said Washington has underestimated the power of Iranians.

The new sanctions imposed by the US government are “not only a frank admission of an end to the sanctions, but also an admission of the failure of the maximum-pressure policy aimed at bringing the Iranian nation to its knees,” he said.

“The US government’s wrong assessment whereby it [falsely] aggrandized its power to exert pressure on Iran on the one hand, and its underestimating of Iran’s willpower in standing up to bullying on the other, have entangled US leaders in a self-made predicament today,” the spokesman noted.

“Not it’s time the US government set aside vanity and obstinacy, and moved to make up for its past mistakes,” he added.

“The US cannot change the fact that exerting maximum pressure on the Iranian nation may have no result other than crime against humanity and breach of the law on an unprecedented scale in modern times, and bring discredit to the United States worldwide,” he added.

“Washington should rest assured that no better results are ahead if it continues on the same path,” he said.

The spokesman underlined that Iran will never bow to bullying, whatsoever.
“We hope the US regime will learn lessons from history and, at the end of the day, behave as befits the US nation’s dignity,’ he said.

Iranian Knowledge-Based Firms Make Inroads into Eurasia Market

Iranian Knowledge-Based Firms Make Inroads into Eurasia Market

The Vice Presidency for Science and Technology launched a project earlier this year to assess the export capabilities of the local knowledge-based enterprises, boost their capabilities, and remove the obstacles to exports to the five member states of the Eurasian Economic Union.

After detecting more than 140 firms with the necessary abilities to have access to the lucrative Eurasian market, the vice presidency’s office selected 20 top companies and linked them with the trade dealer.

The results of trade interaction between the Iranian knowledge-based companies and the Eurasian market are going to be presented in an upcoming webinar.

The knowledge-based, innovative and technological companies can seize the opportunity to export their products and services to Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Kazakhstan under the EAEU trade regulations.

Preferential tariffs and a customs-free list of hundreds of items and services have turned the Eurasian market into an attractive option for the foreign companies.

In 2019, Iran joined the EAEU for a temporary 3-year period. Turkey and India are also vying for access to the Eurasian market.

Present at the unveiling ceremony was Iranian Vice President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari, who said the government will increase its support for knowledge-based firms and innovative industries on the back of new decisions by the cabinet and parliament.

“Telescopic cranes are used in different projects, so the country needs to be able to produce them,” he said.

“The manufacturing of telescopic cranes in Iran has broken new ground in that domain, and the Science and Technology Department of the Presidential Office backs such ground-breaking moves,” he said.

Iran Summons French Envoy over Macron’s Anti-Islam Stances

Iran Summons French Envoy over Macron’s Anti-Islam Stances

The Foreign Ministry summoned Florent Aydalot in the absence of the French ambassador to convey Tehran’s dismay at Paris officials’ support for the publication of profane cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad by the French satirical weekly magazine Charlie Hebdo.

In the meeting with Aydalot, the deputy director general for European affairs at the Iranian foreign ministry condemned French authorities’ unacceptable actions which have inflamed the sentiments of millions of Muslims in Europe and in other parts of the world.

“Any insult to, and disrespect for Prophet Muhammad and the pure values of Islam, by any individual and with any position, is strongly condemned and rejected,” said the Iranian official.

“Fanning the flames of Islamophobia and hatemongering is a source of deep regret,” especially when it is carried out under the name of freedom of speech, which is supposed to serve understanding, empathy, and peaceful coexistence among human societies, the Iranian official said.

“French officials’ injudicious reaction to the move by extremists who commit acts of violence in the name of Islam will only lay the groundwork for the growth of tendencies that are deviant and are not in conformity with this divine faith (Islam), which only promises tolerance, rationality, peace and justice-seeking,” he said.

The French diplomat, in turn, promised to inform relevant authorities in his country of Iran’s protest at the French government’s stance in that regard.

New Sanctions Result of US Failure to Zero Out Iran’s Oil Exports: Minister

New Sanctions Result of US Failure to Zero Out Iran's Oil Exports

In a post on his Twitter account, Zanganeh said, “The sanctions on me and my colleagues are a passive reaction to the failure of Washington’s policy of bringing (Iran’s) oil exports to zero.”

“The era of unilateralism in the world has ended. Iran’s oil industry will not give up,” he added.

The oil minister also emphasized that he has no assets held abroad to be subject to the US sanctions, saying he would sacrifice his life, assets and dignity for Iran.

The US Treasury Department announced on Monday it has imposed sanctions on the Iranian Ministry of Oil, the National Iranian Oil Company and the National Iranian Tanker Company for alleged financial support for the IRGC Quds Force.

Iranian oil exports rose sharply in September in defiance of the US sanctions, according to three assessments based on tanker tracking.

Macron’s ‘Abuse of Speech Freedom’ to Fuel Extremism, Zarif Warns

Macron's 'Abuse of Speech Freedom' to Fuel Extremism, Zarif Warns

“Muslims are the primary victims of the ‘cult of hatred’—empowered by colonial regimes and exported by their own clients,” Zarif tweeted Monday.

“Insulting 1.9 billion Muslims—and their sanctities—for the abhorrent crimes of such extremists is an opportunistic abuse of freedom of speech,” he added.

“It only fuels extremism,” Zarif warned.

His comments came after Macron pledged to fight “Islamist separatism”, which he said was threatening to take control in some Muslim communities around France.

He also described Islam as a religion “in crisis” worldwide and said the government would present a bill in December to strengthen a 1905 law that officially separated church and state in France.

His remarks, in addition to his backing of satirical outlets publishing caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), have drawn widespread condemnation from Muslims across the world.

France Must Stop ‘Dangerous Game’ of Insulting Prophet Muhammad: Iran

Iran Warns Enemies of Tough Revenge for Assassination of Gen. Soleimani

In remarks on Monday, Major General Mohammad Baqeri denounced Macron’s support for the sacrilegious cartoons published by the French satirical weekly magazine Charlie Hebdo.

Emmanuel Macron’s anti-rights comments in support of the continued publication of profane cartoons against Prophet Muhammad, which Macron calls ‘backing for secular values,’ has once again laid bare the true colours of those who falsely claim to be advocates of human rights,” said General Baqeri, the chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.
“Macron’s remarks showed they pay no respect to divine faiths,” said the general.

“Surprisingly enough, Western governments, including the French government, which have created Takfiri and terrorist groups such as ISIS, and which know nothing of pure Islam, want to attribute a violent act of terrorism to the religion of mercy, wisdom and rationality, i.e., Islam,” the top general said.

General Baqeri reiterated that liberal-democratic policies in the West have failed.
He underlined the Paris government seeks to present a bill to restrict the activities of Muslims in the country in order to cover up its own incompetence.

The top general asked intellectual elite and scholars across the world to urge French statesmen to “stop this dangerous game” and not to play with the religious sentiments of more than 1.5 billion Muslims.

Iran Urges UN to Stand Up against Unilateralism and War

Iran Urges UN to Stand Up against Unilateralism and War

“Our United Nations at 75 needs to recommit itself to stand up—united—against unilateralism and war,” Zarif said in his speech to a session of the 75th UN General Assembly.
What follows is the full text of his Monday speech:

Mr. President,

Seventy-five years ago, the United Nations was founded to restore international peace and security in the aftermath of two horrific wars. But how successful have we been?
According to a new study, since 2001—ironically, the “United Nation’s Year of Dialogue Among Civilizations”—37 million people have been displaced as a result of the US “Forever Wars”.

The eight violent wars that the US initiated or joined since 2001—under the rubric of “War on Terror”—have resulted in the loss of hundreds of thousands of innocent lives, countless broken societies and families, failed and failing states and unprecedented extremism.
So today, we should be asking ourselves:

Whether our world is more—or less—secure than it was in 1945;
How we can counter the unilateralism and disdain for international law by a bully that only knows wielding a big stick and speaking arrogantly;

And how we can contain a power that has spent over 220 of its total 244 year-history in war: from the wars on its native population, to the war on its enslaved population—which continues with extreme brutality—and to the 39 military conflicts and nearly 120 economic wars—it deceptively calls “sanctions”—since 1945. Against any entity that hasn’t submitted to its whims.

Ironically, it keeps losing its “Forever Wars”.
In fact, no one wins in a war.
It’s time to change tack—saving American blood and treasure and sparing the world from further misery.

Dear Friends,
Complacency is the oxygen that the US needs to continue its bullying. US appetite only grows by appeasement; by submitting to its unlawful measures against others, in the hope of avoiding its wrath. It does not work, my friends.
Our United Nations at 75 needs to recommit itself to stand up—united—against unilateralism and war.

I thank you.
