According to a Farsi report by Al-Alam, Amine Gemayel, the former President of Lebanon, revealed that Muammar Gaddafi, the former dictator of Libya, had asked him to convert to Islam during a meeting.
“In a personal meeting, Gaddafi described me as a great man, and wanted me to convert to Islam; I answered ‘Peace be upon you, we are all the descendants of Abraham (AS)’,” noted Gemayel.
He then pointed to his intense conflicts with Gaddafi and the latter’s stance against the administrative and political system of Lebanon.
The 74-year old Amine Gemayel was the President of Lebanon from 1982 to 1988.
