Iran Unveils Reflective Collars to Reduce Camels’ Road Deaths

An Iranian tyre production company has unveiled a reflective collar to help protect the lives of camels crossing the country’s roads at night.

On the sidelines of a ceremony to mark the Earth Day on April 22 at the Iranian Department of Environment, an Iranian tyre producer, Kavir Tire, unveiled a reflective collar aiming to protect the lives of camels crossing the country’s roads at night.

According to a Farsi report by the website of the Department of Environment, by the move, the company aims to play its social role and display its commitment to protecting the life of the country’s human beings and animals and supporting its ecosystem.

The move was also aimed at bringing down the large number of the road accidents and casualties in Iran as well as the substantial number of animals being hit by vehicles, and killed, when crossing the country’s intercity roads at nights.

Commenting on the collars and their purpose at the ceremony, Mohammad-Hossein Zeinali, Kavir Tire’s CEO, said by implementing the project, the company’s directors seek to fulfil their commitments on protecting the life of the country’s human beings and animals and supporting its ecosystem.

Kavir Tire had earlier unveiled another eco-friendly product called green tyres.
