IRGC chief says Iran to acquire anything necessary to overcome enemies

Hossein Salami

Major General Hossein Salami on Sunday released a message on the occasion of the National Day against Global Arrogance, which marks the anniversary of the seizure of the US embassy in Tehran back in 1979.

The IRGC commander warned the US, as the archenemy of the Iranian nation, and its “rabid dog”, namely the “criminal and terrorist Zionist regime”, that the Islamic resistance forces in the region will give a crushing response to the front of evil.

In this course, he added, the resistance front and Islamic Iran will equip themselves with whatever is necessary to confront and overcome the enemy.

Major General Salami also emphasized that the resistance forces would not feel intimidated by the threats and the hue and cry from the evil rulers in Washington and Tel Aviv.

In remarks on Saturday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei underscored that the actions of the enemy will not go unanswered by those who are working to fight them on behalf of the Iranian nation, and that such actions will not be forgotten.

The Leader asserted that both the Zionist regime and the US will undoubtedly receive a crushing response for their actions against the Iranian nation and the resistance front.

Over half of Britons believe Israel committing war crimes in Gaza: Poll

Gaza War

According to the survey, commissioned by Action for Humanity and conducted by the YouGov pollster between October 16 and 17, the figure comes up to a staggering three in five among supporters of the Labour Party, which currently holds power in the United Kingdom.

The poll showed that 76% of Labour voters continue to back an end to British arms transfers to the Tel Aviv regime.

Furthermore, the total number of Britons that would oppose a ban is lower than 1 in 5, compared to 3 in 5 that would support one.

“The majority of people rightly feel the government is not doing enough to stop war crimes from happening. The overwhelming majority of the public demands that the UK government immediately cease all arms transfers to Israel, not just 10%, and take all actions to bring about a sustainable ceasefire,” Charles Lawley, the director of communications and advocacy at Action for Humanity, said.

“We believe that, unless the UK government stops ignoring the public, they will at best be impotent in the atrocities being committed in Gaza and Lebanon [and] at worst be complicit in them,” he added.

The Zionist regime has continued its devastating offensive on the Gaza Strip since a cross-border incursion by Hamas last October, despite a United Nations Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire.

More than 43,000 people have since been killed, mostly women and children, and over 102,000 injured, according to local health authorities.

The Israeli onslaught has displaced almost the entire population of the territory amid an ongoing blockade that has led to severe shortages of food, clean water and medicine.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in Gaza.

Fatah, Hamas hold talks in Egypt to discuss Gaza

Gaza War

The committee will be established by presidential decree from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, the official said, adding that it will include independent figures.

According to the security official, the Egyptian-sponsored meeting aims to achieve Palestinian unity and prevent the separation of the West Bank from the Gaza Strip.

He added that Hamas insists on addressing all issues related to the conflict comprehensively, including the withdrawal of Israeli forces, the prisoner exchange, and the entry of humanitarian aid. Hamas fears that if these issues are handled separately, Israel may resume its attacks on the besieged enclave after securing the release of Israeli hostages.

The official affirmed that Egypt is making intensive efforts to resume negotiations for a Gaza ceasefire, which have been suspended since July, noting that Cairo continues to work with Palestinian and Israeli parties to secure a truce and facilitate increased humanitarian aid into the besieged enclave.

The Israeli army has continued a deadly onslaught in northern Gaza since early October to reportedly prevent the Palestinian resistance group Hamas from regrouping amid a siege on the area. Palestinians, however, accuse Israel of seeking to occupy the area and forcibly displace its residents.

More than 1,200 people have been killed in northern Gaza since the offensive began, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

The onslaught is the latest episode in a brutal Israeli war on Gaza since an attack by Hamas in October last year, despite a United Nations Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire.

More than 43,300 people have since been killed, mostly women and children, and over 102,000 others injured, according to local health authorities.

The Israeli onslaught has displaced almost the territory’s entire population amid an ongoing blockade that has led to severe shortages of food, clean water, and medicine.

Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in Gaza.

Humanitarian situation in Lebanon worse than during 2006 war: UN

Lebanon War

The statement came as the Lebanese Health Ministry updated the death toll from Israeli attacks on the country to at least 2,968 people. Another 13,319 have been wounded.

The Lebanese government reported some 1.2 million people have been displaced, while the International Organization for Migration said its count shows at least 842,648 people have been forced to flee their homes.

The 2006 war killed 1,191 people in Lebanon, while more than 900,000 fled their homes, according to the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The situation has escalated anew, due to Israel’s forced displacement orders for the residents of eastern Baalbek and southern Nabatieh, OCHA said.

The toll on the population has been exacerbated by the destruction of critical infrastructure, including healthcare, it added.

The UN’s humanitarian agency, citing figures from the World Health Organization (WHO), added there had been 36 Israeli attacks on healthcare facilities since the escalation with Hezbollah in September.

It noted 85 health workers have been killed and 51 others wounded while they were on duty between September 17 and October 31.

It announced medical first responders continued to operate in “highly dangerous situations”.

Israel launched a massive air campaign last month in Lebanon against what it claims are Hezbollah targets in an escalation in a year of cross-border warfare between Israel and the group since the start of Israel’s brutal onslaught on the Gaza Strip.

Israel expanded the conflict by launching an incursion into southern Lebanon on Oct. 1.

Nationwide rallies in Iran mark National Day of Fight Against Global Arrogance

The rallies also mark National Student Day, which is the anniversary of the US Embassy takeover in Tehran in 1979.

Every year, Iranians take to the streets on this day to show their anger at the US hostility toward their country over the past decades.

This year’s central theme is “America, the Axis of Evil in the World.”

In the capital Tehran, the rallies commenced at Palestine Square and proceeded towards the embassy a building that used to be the US embassy which is known as the Den of Espionage in Iran.

On November 4, 1979, university students seized the embassy, which had become a center of espionage following the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

The students later published documents proving that the compound was engaged in plans and measures to overthrow the Islamic Republic.

This year’s event is titled “the Caravan to Al-Quds” to express solidarity with Palestinians amid incessant Israeli onslaught against the people of Gaza and Lebanon.

Throughout the route, various cultural stations set up by community organizations and students explain the nature of ‘arrogance’ through creative initiatives.

US renews warning about Iran’s new strike against Israel

Iran US Flags

Axios, citing a US official and a former Israeli official, reported that Washington relayed to Tehran that it would not be able to restrain Israel if Iran were to attack again.

Axios previously reported that Israeli intelligence suggests Iran is preparing to attack Israel. Iran first responded to Israeli assault in the region amid the ongoing war on Gaza in April, in an attack that was in response to the Israeli bombing of an Iranian consulate building in Syria.

Then, after Israel killed Hamas and Hezbollah leaders, Ismail Haniyeh and Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, in Tehran and Beirut, Iran launched another attack on Israeli military sites.

Israel responded in kind with its a strike on Iranian military strikes.

High-ranking Iranian officials said on Thursday Tehran intends to respond to last week’s Israeli attack, signaling that the months-long cycle of attack and counterattack between Tehran and Tel Aviv that has provoked fears of a wider regional war could continue.

The officials did not provide details on the timing of the response or what form it might take.

On Saturday, the Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei warned that the US and Israeli regime will receive a crushing response for stoking tensions in the region.

Earthquake jolts Iran’s Garmsar, damage caused

Earthquake Iran

The tremor caused significant damage, cutting off electricity and internet to many homes.

Garmsar’s Governor, Reza Khani, confirmed that emergency response teams are on standby and urged residents to remain calm and adhere to safety precautions.

Although the sound of the earthquake was terrifying, there have been no reports of injuries so far.

Authorities have dispatched assessment teams to the affected areas to evaluate the damage and provide assistance.

Residents are advised to stay vigilant and follow safety guidelines to ensure their well-being.

The quake was felt in the capital Tehran, around 100 kilometers away.

Suspected Israeli naval commandos kidnap Lebanese man near his home

Lebanese transport minister Ali Hamie confirmed the incident and said security bodies are continuing their investigations.

Hamie told local media that the man, a captain of civilian and commercial ships and a student at a naval institute, was seized against his will approximately 100m from his home.

CCTV footage shared by Lebanese media appears to show armed troops moving through the northern coastal town of Batroun early on Friday, near the site of the abduction.

Sources cited by Reuters and Axios attributed the operation to Israel.

An Israeli source told Axios that the abducted man was allegedly a “senior member of Hezbollah’s naval force” and was abducted to gather intelligence on Hezbollah’s naval operations.

There has been no official comment from Israel, Lebanon or Hezbollah.

Since 8 October 2023, a day after the war in the Gaza Strip began, Israel and Hezbollah have been engaged in cross-border hostilities.

The conflict escalated in September with an extensive Israeli bombing campaign across Lebanon, followed by a ground invasion in early October.

Over 2,800 people in Lebanon have been killed over the past year, the majority since last September, according to Lebanon’s health ministry.

Hezbollah has announced it has killed at least 90 Israeli soldiers in ground fighting in southern Lebanon, while the Israeli Army claims it has lost 37 soldiers.

Israel unable to calculate Iran’s response: IRGC spokesman

Ali Mohammad Naeini

Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naeini, the IRGC’s spokesman and deputy head of the Public Relations Department, was speaking on Saturday about Iran’s retaliation against Israeli aggression on Iranian soil on October 26.

The Islamic Republic has already launched hundreds of missiles on the Israeli-occupied territories as part of two retaliatory operations, dubbed Operation True Promise 1 and 2.

“Iran is able to alter the enemy’s perception in line with the strategy of disciplining and punishing those who violate [the country’s] national security,” Naeini said.

“In fact, Operation True Promise ll was the beginning of the story of catching the Zionists off guard. Henceforth, Iran will always leverage the surprise factor in its operations against the Zionists and will show that the Zionists’ calculation system is incapable of figuring out Iran’s action.”

Touching on Iran’s strong response to the recent Israeli assault, the IRGC spokesman stressed that the enemy should realize that the Islamic Republic will give a “crushing” response to any mischief.

“I state clearly and firmly that the answer to the enemy’s latest attack will be given definitively and decisively. The response will be beyond the perception of the enemy, thoughtful and powerful,” Naeini added.

“The enemy should learn that he cannot do any evil and he will undoubtedly receive a crushing response for his mischief.”

IRGC’s Chief Commander Major General Hossein Salami had earlier in the week warned the Israeli regime of an “unimaginable” response for its recent act of aggression against Iran.

On October 1, the Islamic Republic launched 200 missiles towards Israeli military and intelligence bases all over the occupied territories as part of Operation True Promise II.

The operation came in response to more deadly atrocities by the regime against the country and other regional nations, including Israel’s assassinations of the Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah’s leader Nasrallah and Abbas Nilforoushan, a commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

The operation came six months after its prequel that saw the country firing more than 300 missiles and drones against the occupied territories in retaliation for deadly aggression by the Israeli regime that had targeted Iranian diplomatic facilities in the Syrian capital of Damascus earlier that month.
