Iranian, Iraqi FMs Discuss Regional Issues in Tehran

Iranian, Iraqi FMs Discuss Regional Issues in Tehran

In the Saturday meeting in Tehran, the top Iranian diplomat expressed Tehran’s backing for the political trend in, and sovereignty of Iraq, saying the Arab country’s security is important for Iran.

Zarif touched upon attacks carried out against Iranian diplomatic locations and highlighted the necessity of guaranteeing the dignity and security of Iranian diplomats in Iraq.

He condemned any assaults on diplomatic places and denounced any such attacks as unacceptable. Zarif said such attacks must be stopped.

He then referred to the United States’ assassination of top Iranian commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani in Iraq, calling on the Iraqi government to discharge its responsibility in that regard.

The Iraqi foreign minister, in turn, underscored the strategic importance of Tehran-Baghdad ties.

He said the two sides enjoy age-old relations and a common geography as well as common economic and political interests.

He said Iraq will not allow its soil to be used for threatening neighbouring countries.

As agreed in the meeting, an Iraqi technical team will travel to Iran in the coming two weeks to implement mutual agreements, including those on dredging the border river of Arvand Rud.

Iranian Diplomat, UN Envoy for Syria Hold Phone Talks

Iranian Diplomat, UN Envoy for Syria Hold Phone Talks

In the Saturday talks, the two sides exchanged views on the political process and activities of the Syrian Constitutional Committee.

They underlined the promotion of political dialogue, and the continued work of the Constitutional Committee within the framework of respecting the country’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The phone conversation came a couple of days after the Iranian foreign minister’s trip to Moscow, where Mohammad Javad Zarif discussed the latest Syria developments in his talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

The Syrian issue needs special coordination, and we will coordinate our measures with Russia and Turkey in the Astana talks,” Zarif said upon arrival in Russia.

Iran, Russia and Turkey are guarantor countries that brokered a ceasefire in Syria in December 2016, leading to the Astana talks, which are running parallel to the UN-sponsored Geneva peace talks.

The leaders of the three countries regularly meet for an assessment of the process which focused on Idlib and adjacent areas – the last stronghold of the rebels – and a political process which awaits the formation of a constitutional committee.

Iran-Turkey Flights Resume after 6-Month Hiatus

Iran-Turkey Flights Resume after 6-Month Hiatus

A senior official at Imam Khomeini International Airport in southern Tehran says the airlines Qatar Airways and Emirates along with a number of Iranian carriers are now running flights through Imam Khomeini International Airport.

“The Turkish Airlines will also resume its flights to this airport as of today,” Alireza Majzoobi said.

He said the Turkish airline, which had stopped its flight to Tehran for six months due to the coronavirus outbreak, will run seven flights between Istanbul and Tehran based on arrangements made by the two countries.

He further noted that the amount of travel dropped in most countries following the pandemic.

“With the outbreak of the COVID-19 disease across the world, we saw a decline in the number of trips and, accordingly, the cancellation of flights in most countries, including in our country, so much so that based on a report by the Airport Council International (ACI), the number of passengers transferred at world airports in the first and second quarters of 2020 dropped by 26.4 and 89.6 percent respectively compared to the similar period in 2019,” said Majzoobi.

“As countries eased restriction put in place to combat the COVID-19 outbreak, we are witnessing air travel increasing gradually although international institutions predict that the number of air passengers will, before 2023, not reach as many as they were in the year 2019,” he added.

Iran to Tighten Health Protocols amid Third Wave of COVID-19

Iran to Tighten Health Protocols amid Third Wave of COVID-19

President Hassan Rouhani said in a Saturday meeting of the coronavirus headquarters that he has asked all relevant bodies to draw up a special plan to deal with and impose penalties on citizens who do not wear masks.

“After being approved in the upcoming meeting of the National Coronavirus Headquarters, this plan and pertinent regulations will be put in force first in Greater Tehran and next in other major cities across the country,” he added.

The president noted provincial governors have also been authorized to shut down any places or businesses in their provinces for a week if necessary.

He said the provincial governors can present their proposals to the Interior Ministry and, if agreed, they can go ahead with the week-long closure initiative.

The president also thanked medical personnel who are at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19, saying they shoulder a heavy responsibility in that regard.

He said the government’s priority will be to provide drugs, treatment equipment and other health items to help facilitate medical personnel’s job.

Trump Admin. Inflicted $150 Billion in Losses on Iran: Rouhani

Iran Policies to Remain Unchanged No Matter Who Becomes US President: Rouhani

Speaking in a meeting of the coronavirus headquarters on Saturday, President Hassan Rouhani said the Americans inflicted at least $150 billion in losses on Iran from 2018 to 2020 with wrong, illegal, unwarranted and inhuman sanctions as well as terrorist operations.

“They even prevented the transfer of medications and treatment [facilities] and food to Iran, and we have never ever seen people with such savagery at the White House,” he said.

“They committed the greatest savagery in history, and the man who calls himself the US secretary of state, but, in fact, is the US secretary of crime, proudly says that he blocked some $70 billion of Iranian assets this year; that means, he takes pride in animosity with, and dealing a blow to the Iranian nation,” he noted.

The president also blasted Washington for its opposition to the International Monetary Fund (IMF)’s offering $5 billion in loans to Iran in order to pay for medicines as well as medical and hospital equipment amid the coronavirus outbreak.

He said White House officials are to blame for all the crimes committed against, and all the pressure exerted on the Iranian nation.

“As you see, they are ratcheting up the pressure every day,” he said.

The projects include accommodation, tourism and entertainment facilities which became operational with a price tag of well over Rls 10 trillion.

The projects also create jobs for nearly two thousand people.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Minister of Tourism, Cultural Heritage and Handicrafts Ali-Asghar Mounesan.

“With the president’s support, good events happened in the tourism sector,” said the minister.

He added there has been a considerable rise in the number of tourists visiting Iran.
Mounesan said several other projects are also underway and will come on line by the end of the tenure of the Rouhani administration.

Meanwhile, President Rouhani said he was happy to see numerous projects have been inaugurated in the domains of culture, tourism and handicrafts.

“We should protect cultural heritage, which dates back to ancient times and thousands of years ago,” he noted.

He said every visitor coming to Iran is mesmerized by the country’s tourism attractions.

Skills That Every Maintenance Manager Should Have to Be on Top of Game

Skills That Every Maintenance Manager Should Have to Be on Top of Game 3

Simply put, maintenance refers to all the operations and processes involved in the upkeeping of a company’s assets for maximum business growth and the best return on investment (ROI).

The job of a maintenance manager requires impeccable managerial skills for a company’s sustainable growth. Poor maintenance management can result in the downfall of the company, like a chain of falling dominoes.

Significance of Maintenance Managers and Why They Are Important

Assets and infrastructure of the company are, essentially, the money-making machines of the organization.

The best performance of the assets like machinery, hardware, firmware, and more are highly dependent on the maintenance division, which is headed or overseen by a maintenance manager.

Therefore, you can say that the company’s sustainability largely depends on the skills and traits of the maintenance manager.

Given the competitiveness of the consumer world, maintenance managers should have many essential skills up their sleeves to be on top of the game for both the company’s business and professional growth.

Among many things, a maintenance manager job description includes;

  • Ensuring optimal uptime of machines
  • Keeping the company assets in good condition
  • Minimizing downtime
  • Reduce wastage of resources on the assets
  • Overseeing the maintenance teams
  • Reducing breakdowns of machinery
  • Set quality standards
  • Document all activities
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct repairs and preventive maintenance procedures
  • Disposing of equipment or parts that do not work or cost more to operate than what they can produce
  • Salvaging useful parts from non-working equipment

Below are seven skills that your maintenance manager should have to create a profoundly positive impact on the company’s growth and business model.

  1. Impeccable Leadership

As was quoted in the Spiderman movie, “With great power comes great responsibility.”

Ineffective managers boss around their subordinates while effective and high-performing managers lead their team.

Managers with good leadership skills take the team with them on the journey of completing a company project.

Effective leadership also involves taking up responsibilities and being accountable not only for your own actions but also for the actions of those under you.

Moreover, it is the leader’s responsibility to lift the team’s spirit and keep all the members of the team motivated to perform their job with great diligence.

  1. Effective Time Management

Time management skills are critical in any industry. Managers are often required to oversee the actions of tens and hundreds of employees in addition to attending meetings and other company proceedings.

There are only 24 hours in a day, and managers are expected to make the most of every second.

Moreover, managers are constantly bombarded with numerous text messages, calls, and emails, which only put the managers behind schedule.

Often, the best-performing managers credit their success to an effective Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) that helps them streamline and automate a large part of their workflow.

This helps the maintenance managers make time for what matters the most to the company.

They are expected to manage their time in a way that makes them efficient performers but also has enough time for family, friends, and recreation at zero expense of work hours.

  1. Ability to Teach and Train

Quite often, managers are highly experienced personnel in their respective fields. Therefore, they should teach and train those who are less experienced or new to the domain. Skills That Every Maintenance Manager Should Have to Be on Top of Game 1

Maintenance managers should be able to groom individuals and develop their staff as per the company’s or project’s requirements.

  1. Technical Knowledge and Expertise

Besides having strong interpersonal and managerial skills, maintenance managers should also have appreciable technical knowledge and expertise.

Often, managers are enrolled in a training program and are educated about the technicalities involved in maintenance manager jobs before they go onto the field.

This knowledge is critical as the managers would also be overseeing people who are purely into the technical aspect of a project.

Having some technical expertise will help managers quickly comprehend and troubleshoot the problem instead of being left in the dark.

Furthermore, maintenance managers should also know about finance and budget. The ability to analyze and interpret the financial aspects of the company will go a long way in making well-informed decisions.

  1. Organizational Skills

Maintenance managers should quickly and effortlessly organize their tasks by the order or deadlines and priorities. They should prioritize work in a way that aligns with the company’s agenda rather than their personal interests.

It is imperative to note that organizing the work and tasks is not only limited to the variable that involves just the maintenance team. The managers should also take into account the effects it would have on other departments of the company.

They have to constantly communicate and update other departments as well as their progress and decisions.

  1. Listening Skills

Ineffective managers are often clouded by a superiority complex that arises out of their experience. This makes it easier for them to turn a deaf ear to the opinions of those who work under them. Skills That Every Maintenance Manager Should Have to Be on Top of Game 2

An effective manager values the insights of every person in the team and includes their inputs into the final decision.

  1. Forward Thinking

Forward thinking ties together everything we have discussed so far. Managers should realize that they are working not just for their team but for the growth and success of the entire company.

Their ability to work inclusively as part of a company rather than only for the benefit of themselves or their team is critical for profound results.

Moreover, seeing the bigger picture also means that managers should be willing to constantly upskill themselves as per the changing times.

Forward thinking also extends to the ethics of the company. Maintenance managers cannot let their personal opinions or bias come in the way of company values and policies at any cost.

Conclusion

At the end of the day, a maintenance manager’s job is not a piece of cake. They are crucial to the benefit of the organization as a whole and carry some heavy responsibilities.

SaaS tools can alleviate many of the pains that maintenance managers face daily and help them stay on top of their game.

How Premises Liability Is Determined?

How Premises Liability Is Determined

Those who come onto the property must not suffer an injury or harm due to the negligence or carelessness of the owners. The responsibility of maintenance and security in the terminology of law is known as the premises liability.

Under the law of premises liability, the property owners and residents are held accountable for any mishaps or accidents that occur because of their property or on their property. These accidents could include a slip and fall because of an oil slick on someone’s driveway, falling on a public sidewalk, or getting injured in an amusement park ride and attaining serious injury or harm. The person injured can sue the property owner and may have a valid claim in the argument even if they acted in an unsafe way because the property owner will not be able to prove it unless they have surveillance cameras.

Furthermore, in this article, we will describe how premises liability is determined, especially depending on the condition of the property as well as the legal status of the visitor which includes actions taken by the owner and the visitor.

The Legal Status of Visitor

In different states, the legal status of the visitor is referred to as different labels. It is, however, linked with the property and is considered as if the visitor was an invitee, trespasser, social guest, or a licensee.

These labels determine whether the premises liability will be applied to an individual if injured or not.

The invitee is an individual who has been invited at the property of someone else, they could be either a customer or a worker. This implies that the owner of the property must foresee reasonable steps to ensure the safety and security of other people at the premises.

A licensee is an individual who enters the property and is allowed especially by it’s the owner. The license indicates special permission to the individual. The person could be anyone such as a guest, visitor, or someone welcomed at an event on the premises.

At last, a trespasser is someone who enters the property of someone else without any right whatsoever. In that case of the trespasser and licensees, there is no validity that the security has been implied and reasonable care will be provided.

Condition of Property

In various states, many authorities consider the condition of the property as well as the activities conducted on them by the owner and visitor to get a clear picture of the scenario and accident. It is because they apply a uniform standard of care for all invitees and licensees to proffer them accurate security and safety. If they find out any faults in the property, they charge the owner for this misconduct for the inappropriate condition of the property.
