Iran’s IRGC Unveils New Ballistic Missile System amid US Votes

Iran's IRGC Unveils New Ballistic Missile System amid US Votes

The automated and smart system, used for launching multiple long-range ballistic missiles, has been manufactured by the IRGC Aerospace Force.

The homegrown missile launcher system was unveiled by IRGC Commander Major General Hossein Salami.

“The launch of our missiles rattles the enemy. Our missile power guarantees the withdrawal of enemies,” the IRGC commander said in the unveiling ceremony.

He also said that the deterrent and defense capabilities give Iran huge power that helps the country demonstrate its political will and impose it on the enemy if necessary.

Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.

In February 2018, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei called for efforts to maintain and boost Iran’s defense capabilities, hitting back at the enemies for disputing the country’s missile program.

“Without a moment of hesitation, the country must move to acquire whatever is necessary for defense, even if the whole world is opposed to it,” Ayatollah Khamenei said at the time.

US Sanctions on Iran in Violation of ICJ Ruling: Envoy

Iran Urges Saudi Arabia, Israel to Come Clean on Nuclear Activities

Iran’s Ambassador to the United Nations Majid Takht-Ravanchi said the US is breaching the court ruling by imposing different sanctions on Iran.

In a speech at the UN General Assembly, the top Iranian envoy referred to the United States’ use of coercive measures as a foreign policy tool.

He touched upon the sanctions that Washington has imposed on Iran over the recent years, saying the bans have intensified after the US unilaterally withdrew from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Takht-Ravanchi noted the sanctions have directly or indirectly targeted Iranian companies and people and affected Iran’s free trade potential.
“This comes as the US president has blatantly announced that the toughest sanctions will be slapped against Iran, leading to more problems for the Islamic Republic,” he said.

“In response to these illegal and unlawful measures which run counter to the principles of the UN Charter, international law and the 1955 bilateral agreement between Iran and the United States, the Islamic Republic of Iran brought a lawsuit with the International Court of Justice and called on the court to issue a provisional order to stop the United States’ illegal actions,” he said.

“On October 3, 2018, the International Court of Justice issued, by consensus, a binding provisional order obligating the US to stop its restrictive measures in accordance with its commitments under a treaty of amity, and to guarantee that restrictions do not apply to permits needed to transfer money in areas stipulated in the court ruling,” he said.

“Unfortunately, the US has not abided by the court’s provisional order so far and has, ironically enough, imposed more sanctions and tightened its coercive measures, so much so that more Iranian banks have come under sanctions recently amid the spread of the coronavirus outbreak,” he said.

The Iranian ambassador to the UN said these sanctions have created problems for Iran with regards to the procurement of medicines and equipment needed to combat COVID-19.

“The US is obliged to abide by the court order, and any non-compliance will bring international responsibility for the US. The court has asked both parties to the lawsuit to avoid any measures that would worsen or intensify the case,” he said.

Iran Warns Enemies of Tough Revenge for Assassination of Gen. Soleimani

Iran Warns Enemies of Tough Revenge for Assassination of Gen. Soleimani

Major General Mohammad Baqeri said Iran’s missile attack on a US base in Iraq in revenge for the slaying of General Soleimani was a “temporary balm” for this tragedy of the Muslim world.

The top commander underlined the violent assassination of General Soleimani by the criminal US regime was testimony to “state terrorism.”
General Baqeri further slammed Washington for slapping bans on Iran amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“The peak of the United States’ savagery becomes evident when it imposes the toughest economic sanctions, so much so that it has become very difficult to procure medicines for patients,” said General Baqeri, the chairman of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.

“Enemies are planning to destroy the Islamic community by sowing discord,” he said.

“Painting a violent picture of the Islamic community is only one of the small pieces of the Islamophobia puzzle,” the top commander said.

“The Muslim community is experiencing a critical juncture now. Today all Takfiris and atheists are confronting pure Islam and they leave no stone unturned,” he said.

“Some heads of Islamic states have now become so brazen that they have resorted to the wicked United States and have backstabbed the Islamic community by normalizing their relations with the Zionist regime [of Israel],” General Baqeri said.

“These rulers have relied on a hollow power called the US, which itself is on the decline and is scared of the resistance front,” he noted.

He further urged the Muslim community to remain united against enemies.
“The enemies of Islam make the most capital out of internecine conflicts within the Islamic community, and we should prioritize the realization of unity,” he said.

During the meeting, which was co-chaired by the three countries’ special envoys, the participants expressed concern over the growth of extremism and terrorism in Afghanistan.

They also voiced support for the establishment of peace and stability in Afghanistan, and the regional cooperation to strengthen peace in the country.

Violence has kept up its attacks across Afghanistan while the Kabul government and the group’s negotiators have been meeting in Qatar to try to broker a peace deal with the Taliban and end nearly two decades of war in the country.

In the latest attack on Monday, for which the ISIS claimed responsibility, at least 22 people were killed and about two dozen others wounded when heavily-armed gunmen stormed Kabul University in Afghanistan’s capital city in an attack that ended after hours of fighting with security forces.

The attack started when three attackers, one wearing an explosive vest, entered the university campus in the Afghan capital on Monday morning.

Ayatollah Khamenei Warns about Terrorists’ Operation Near Iran Borders

Ayatollah Khamenei Warns about Terrorists’ Operation Near Iran Borders

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said reliable reports indicate some terrorists are involved in the conflict over the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

“If these terrorists operate near Iranian borders and if we feel they pose a danger to our country, they will definitely be dealt with seriously,” he said.

“They mustn’t come near Iran’s border,” the Leader stressed.

Ayatollah Khamenei then said the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is an unfortunate event.

“Unfortunately, a war is going on in our backyard between two of our neighours: the Azerbaijan Republic and Armenia,” said the Leader.

“This war is a bitter event,” he noted.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the conflict is a security threat to the region.

“This war is not good for our country, either, and should end as soon as possible,” the Leader emphasized.

“The Azerbaijani territories occupied by Armenia should all be freed and returned to the Azerbaijan Republic,” he said.

The Leader noted those territories belong to the Azerbaijan Republic, which has every right to try to regain them.

“Of course, the security of the Armenians living in these territories should be ensured,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

He said neither side should encroach upon each other’s internationally recognized borders.

Iran Condemns Vienna Terror Attack, Warns against Hatemongering

Iran Condemns Vienna Terror Attack, Warns against Hatemongering

In a statement on Tuesday, Khatibzadeh condemned last night’s terrorist attack in Vienna, expressing sympathy with the Austrian government, nation and families of the victims.

“Terrorism is condemned in any shape, and the deplorable incident in Vienna reveals once again that terrorism and extremism know no boundaries,” the spokesman noted.

“Replacement of rationalism with promotion of hate and provocation would create a vicious cycle that only prepares the ground for the spread of radical and violent tendencies,” Khatibzadeh added.

The spokesman also stressed the need for interaction and cooperation within the international community in a decisive battle against terrorism, adding, “The Islamic Republic of Iran will always be part of these efforts.

Police in Austria launched a manhunt after gunmen opened fire at multiple locations across central Vienna, killing at least four people and wounding several more in what Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz described as a “repulsive terror attack”.

Fifteen people were injured in the attack in Vienna, among them a police officer.

The attacks, in six locations including near a synagogue in the centre of the city, were carried out by “several suspects armed with rifles”, police said on Monday night.

Iran Leader: Anti-Islam Stances Show Wicked Nature of Western Civilization

Iran Leader: Anti-Islam Stances Show Wicked Nature of Western Civilization

Ayatollah Khamenei said “some rulers suffered humiliation by insulting the Prophet” whose cartoons were published by the French satirical weekly magazine Charlie Hebdo.

“Backing cultural savagery and the criminal act of a caricaturist is another side of the coin of support for MKO terrorists and [former Iraqi dictator] Saddam [Hussein],” said the Leader in a televised speech on the occasion of Prophet Muhammad’s birthday anniversary.

“The Islamic community’s anger and protest at this event indicates that the Muslim world is alive,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

The Leader noted a lesson should be learned from this development.

“The French government links the event to human rights and freedom of expression. This is the same policy that is associated with the world’s most violent terrorists, i.e., terrorists who [in the past] killed our president, judiciary chief, prime minister and a number of officials as well as 17 thousand people in our country,” the Leader noted, referring to the MKO terrorist group.

He said France is one of the governments which helped Iraqi strongman Saddam Hussein during the eight-year Iraqi-imposed war on Iran in the 1980s.

“They claim they favour freedom and human rights and the like,” said the Leader.

“The Quran and the Prophet Muhammad have been insulted several times so far. They cannot besmirch the Prophet Muhammad’s dignity and honour at all. Such move show the wicked nature of the West’s civilization,” he added.

‘US Suffering Moral, Civil Decline’

The Leader further reffered to the moral collapse of the US regime as an example.

He said The United States has fallen into a substantial decline and Washington’s regime will not live long.

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the White House itself has admitted that the US is nosediving.

“To be fair, the US regime has gone into a dramatic political, civil and moral decline. What I’m saying is not an analysis. It is something that they themselves are saying,” the Leader said.

“This is the word of their own spokespeople as well as authors and thinkers inside the United States,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

“Over the past several years, they have written a number of books which have been published in high circulation inside the US,” he noted.

“These books shed light on some facts,” the Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei said one of these books, which has been translated into Persian, is full of evidence indicative of the “decline of the US political system due to moves by the US president.’

“Such an empire won’t last long,” the Leader stressed.

“It is obvious that when a regime gets to this point, it will not last long and will explode,” he said.
