MP: Iranian govt. green lights establishment of South Kerman Province

Zabihollah Azami Sarduyi told IRNA on Monday that the cabinet discussed the issue in a meeting last month and has approved the long-overdue plan.

He said the Iranian parliament is waiting for the government bill to be delivered for quick review and approval.

Sarduyi stated that “the lack of fair distribution of the wealth and credits” between the north and south of the province held back fair development in the province.

He said, “All the conditions are in place for the establishment of South Kerman province and we hope that the province will be established soon in the current administration.”

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, on a provincial tour of the southeastern Kerman Province on August 12, assured the people in Jiroft that the new province will be created to better run the region.

President Raisi said, “Establishing South Kerman Province has long been delayed. After studying the issue, the government has put it on the agenda and pays attention to it.”

Ebtehaj will be laid to rest at Mohtasham Garden in his hometown Rasht, the capital city of Gilan Province, in northern Iran, she said.

She thanked all those who made efforts to help enable the repatriation and added that the date and time for her father’s burial ceremony would be announced later.

The 94-year-old poet, who wrote under the pseudonym of “Sayeh,” died from complications related to old age in Cologne on August 10.

The arrangements for his repatriation and were postponed burial due to what the Iranian Culture Ministry described as official issues in Germany.

Hossein Mirzaei told IRNA on Wednesday that the text of the commission’s investigation and findings had his “100 percent endorsement” and had been presented to the open session of the Parliament with his signature on it.

He praised Mali’s struggles against terror groups and elaborated on Iran’s experience in the successful fight against the Takfiri Daesh outfit.

For his part, the Malian president hailed Iran’s great achievements in its confrontation with cruel sanctions and described the Islamic Republic as a role model for the Malian nation for standing against the excessive demands of some foreign governments.

He also called for a further enhancement of cooperation with Iran in the areas of economy, commerce and science, voicing Bamako’s readiness to host Iranian businessmen in the country’s market.

Oji also referred to the jump in the price of gas in Europe, saying gas has reached the unprecedented price of 3 dollars per cubic meter and it is projected that it will further rise by another 60 percent.

The Iranian oil minister added that under such circumstances, Iran is ready to partly meet the needs of European countries.

Oji however said the Europeans themselves wronged their people.

He went on to say that energy importers face a difficult winter this year.

Oji then spoke about the surge in Iran’s energy exports. The oil minister said the Islamic republic’s gas condensate sales have reached a daily record of 230,000 to 240,000 barrels in the Persian year of 1401 while it was 7,000 barrels per day in the early days of the administration of President Ebrahim Raisi.

He said the oil ministry started marketing activity to boost sale of oil and gas condensate from day one of the Raisi administration.

Oji added that Iran managed to achieve this goal by diversifying oil and gas sale contracts and through high precision marketing.

The oil minister noted that Iran managed to find good customers in Latin America, Asia and even Europe for the country’s oil and gas condensate.

Iran to hold nationwide drone drill on Wednesday

Admiral Habibollah Sayyari spoke about the objectives of the drill, saying homegrown drones will be tested in the exercise.

Sayyari added that the precision and power of the weapons of the UAVs, their flight continuity, the capability of their guidance and control systems, and the combat capabilities of the drones are factors that are going to be evaluated in the drills as well.

He said other objectives of the maneuver include transfer of experience to young personnel, rehearsing what they have learned and increasing their combat readiness to deal with threats.

Sayyari noted that this is the first time a joint drone drill will be held by the four forces of the Iranian Army and the country’s air defense base.

According to the deputy coordinator of the Iranian Army, the drill will cover a large expanse from the Persian Gulf and the Sea of ​​Oman in the south to all of mainland Iran.

Coronavirus kills 56 patients in Iran in 24 hours

56 more Iranians have died from the coronavirus over the past 24 hours bringing the total deaths to 143,505, Iran’s Health Ministry said on Tuesday.

3,227 new cases of infection with COVID-19 were found over the past 24 hours, 726 of whom were hospitalized, it added.

The Iranian Health Ministry noted that 7,249,458 patients out of a total of 7,513,928 infected people have recovered or been discharged from hospitals.

1,311 COVID-19 patients are in critical conditions and in intensive care units, it added.

The Iranian Health Ministry also announced that 64,937,780 Iranians have received the first dose and 58,316,777 people have so far received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Moreover, 30,491,123 people have also received the third or fourth shots as the booster jab.
