Iran says European troika statement regarding nuclear talks unconstructive, lacks goodwill

Nuclear Negotiations in Vienna

Nasser Kanaani said it is surprising and regrettable that under the current circumstances when diplomatic interactions and exchange of messages continue between the negotiating sides and the coordinator of the Vienna talks to finalize the negotiations, the Euroean troika issues such a communiqué in a move that deviates from the path of the fruitful approach during the talks.

France, Britain and Germany on Saturday said they had “serious doubts” about Iran’s intentions to revive a nuclear deal.

Kanaani warned the European sides against being influenced by propaganda waged by third parties that were against the negotiations from the very beginning and are now making their utmost to cause the talks to fail.

He added that it is unfortunate that with their ill-advised statement, the three European countries are following in the footsteps of the Zionist regime to push the talks toward failure, and obviously, if this approach continues, they should also accept responsibility for its consequences.

Kanaani pointed to the European sides ‘improper and politically-motivated’ action to pave the way for the anti-Iran resolution at the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors.

The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman advised the European troika to play a more active role in order to resolve the remaining issues instead of trying to scuttle the process of the negotiations.

Kanaani underlined the need to avoid politicizing the nuclear matter and making baseless accusations against Iran, saying it’s regrettable that the European troika on the one hand throws their full support behind Israel that possesses hundreds of atomic warheads and is not committed to any non-proliferation regime and on the other hand wages a propaganda against Iran’s peaceful nuclear program that has been subject to the most thorough inspections.

He underscored Iran is still ready and resolved to finalize a deal and believes that if the other sides have the required determination and avoid being influenced by outside pressures, it is possible to swiftly reach an agreement.

Iran pilgrims returning home prior to Arbaeen as Iraq struggles with congestion

Iranian pilgrims Iraq

A large group of Iranian pilgrims couldn’t even reach the Iraqi side of the border as Iranian authorities had to shut the crossings on Friday to help contain congestion in the Western neighbor.

The Iranian Interior Ministry called on Iranians to refrain from traveling to Iraq due to Iraq’s inability to receive more pilgrims.

It also urged those already in Iraq to return home and open space for others to attend.

Upon the call, many of the pilgrims inside Iraq cut their trip short and began coming back prior to Arba’een, the 40th day since the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shia Imam, which falls on September 16-17 this year.

“Unlike the previous years, the facilities inside Iraq were not good and mawakibs (volunteers serving pilgrims) had not been completely set up,” a pilgrim returning to Iran told the IRIB.

Iran’s Arbaeen taskforce said Saturday that the borders with Iraq remained closed, urging pilgrims not to go to the crossings “until further notice.”

It said Iran had dispatched 200 buses to the Khosravi border crossing to help the transportation of the pilgrims.

Annually, Iraq hosts the world’s largest peaceful human gathering on Arba’een. In the run-up to the occasion, pilgrims start a 55-mile journey on foot from the city of Najaf to Karbala, home to Imam Hussein’s holy shrine.

Along the road, Iraq volunteers provide various services to pilgrims, including accommodation and food, while the government is in charge of transportation, medical services, and electricity.

The crisis in pilgrimage comes as Iraq is mired in an internal political dispute.

Iran slams Albania cyber attack claims as baseless

Cyber attack

Saeed Iravani, in a letter to the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, wrote, “The Islamic Republic of Iran categorically rejects and condemns any link to the alleged cyber attacks on Albania’s infrastructure. Therefore, the accusations against Iran are completely baseless and are rejected.”

Albania cut off its diplomatic ties with Iran on Wednesday following claims that Tehran has been behind a cyber attack against the country’s infrastructure and was immediately supported by the United States and some other Western countries.

Iravani said the accusations are politically-charged and based on forged evidence and claims, warning Iran reserves the right to respond to any threat, attack, illegal action, or provocative measure.

The Iranian envoy to the UN said the Islamic Republic has been the main victim of infrastructural cyber attacks sponsored and carried out by Israel and Albania-based anti-Iran terrorist MKO group.

Iravani stressed Iran pursues peaceful purposes in cyberspace and related technologies.

Tehran says US behind ‘scenario’ of Albania serving ties with Iran

Nasser Kanaani

Nasser Kanaani said the new label for sanctions, similar to America’s previous unlawful sanctions against the Intelligence Ministry, will never be able to even slightly disrupt the resolve of the servants of the Iranian people’s security in this proud institution.

“America’s quick declaration of support for the baseless allegations of the Albanian government against the Islamic Republic of Iran and its swift ensuing move to place new sanctions on the Ministry and the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Minister of Intelligence, under the same hollow and unproven allegations, clearly indicate that the mastermind of this scenario is not the Albanian government but the US administration, and that Tirana has fallen victim to the scenario devised by Washington against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he said.

The Albanian government has accused Iran of involvement in the recent cyberattacks against the country, cutting off diplomatic ties with the Islamic Republic.

For years, America has imposed the hosting of a marked terrorist cult on the Albanian government and nation and provided it with all-out support besides training and arming it in the field of cyberspace, said Kanani, adding that this criminal organization has constantly served and still serves as a tool in the hands of America to carry out acts of terror, cyber attacks, and wage psychosocial war against the Iranian government and nation.

He said the Albanian government’s hosting of a terrorist cult and the US government’s move to instrumentalize the cult, which has the blood of over 17,000 Iranian civilians and statesmen on its hands, is a clear example of organized support for terrorism against the Iranian government and nation.

Iran to launch new satellite into orbit soon

Iran satellite

Mansour Anbia told IRNA that Zafar 2 would be the fourth achievement by the university’s researchers in the field of satellite technology since 2011.

Anbia noted that aerospace industries contributed 424 billion dollars to global economy in 2020, a 70-percent rise compared to the last decade.

He added that the university has gained the satellite technology to fulfill the country’s needs and is ready to export the know-how to other countries.

“Developed countries compete with the countries on a par with us to buy Iranian products and knowledge. But considering the recent progress of Iranian universities, other countries have no choice but to use our technical knowledge,” the academic stressed.

Meanwhile, Anbia expressed satisfaction that factories in Iran are moving in the right direction by establishing a link with academic centers and universities to make an overhaul in their products by taking advantage of modern sciences.

Iran started its research activities in the field of aerospace in mid-90s and has taken giant strides ever since by building and launching various indigenous satellites.

Khayyam was the last satellite launched into space in August to monitor Iran’s borders and improve the country’s management and planning of agriculture, natural resources, environmental issues, mining and natural disasters.
