Iran is interested in French companies’ investment in hotel construction and training in hotel management, Vice-President and Director of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Masoud Soltanifar said in a meeting with a visiting French trade delegation Monday.
Soltanifar welcomed French investment in the field of hotel construction and hotel management and added that France’s participation in building two hotels near Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKIA) marks the beginning of Tehran-Paris cooperation in the tourism industry.
France Agriculture Minister Stephane Le Foll recalled the millennia-old civilization of Iran and France and said that Iran has plenty of historical sites and excellent handicrafts.
He pointed to a lot of similarities between the two countries and said tourism will be boosted between Iran and France.
On top of infrastructure development, Iran needs training for restaurant and hotel management. France can share its experience in this field with Iran, Le Foll said.
Soltanifar said that Iranian and French businessmen should draft an agreement to be signed by the two countries’ presidents when President Rouhani flies to Paris later this year.
