According to a report by IRNA, as translated by IFP, “Iran has managed to move two steps up and attain the twelfth place in dentistry in the world, outranking Switzerland and Canada”, Saeed Askari, the Secretary of Oral Health Council of Ministry of Health and Education, said.
“Although Iran has not made any progress in overall science production and remained the 16th country for two consecutive years [2014 and 2015], it has managed to claim the 12th rank in the field of dental sciences within the same period of time,” he noted.
“Fortunately, the Islamic Republic of Iran has the first rank in science production in the Middle East by a narrow margin from Turkey; however, in medical and dental sciences, it holds the second rank after Turkey”, Askari added.
Based on Iran’s 20-Year Vision Plan, authorities are required to take practical measures to pave the way for a considerable science growth and achievement of the first rank in medical and dental sciences.
