“If we face a threat, we respond to it strongly and firmly,” Major General Salehi said on Thursday, noting that the Armed Forces’ military capabilities and high degree of preparedness have enabled them to respond quickly in the face of possible threats.
The top-ranking general also announced that the most recent achievements of the Iranian Army will be put on display during military parades, slated for April 18, marking Iran’s National Army Day.
Iranian military commanders have on various occasions praised the country’s armed forces for manufacturing home-made military and defensive equipment, saying the indigenous weaponry have given the armed forces an advantage.
In relevant comments earlier in March, Major General Salehi had called on the local experts and technicians to put efforts into indigenizing the country’s military equipment.
In a visit to an exhibition of research and scientific achievements in an Air Force training center in Tehran at the time, Major General Salehi had expressed satisfaction with the great headway the Iranian cadets have made in the expertise in manufacturing home-made products.
The commander then called on the whole military instructors and cadets to zero in on manufacturing indigenous equipment for the country’s armed forces.
He also asked the sophisticated military experts to transfer their experience to the next generation of young technicians, whom he said will shape the future of the armed forces.
