The top story in several papers today was the sexual harassment of a group of boys in a high school in Western Tehran by a school official. Following the sensitive scandal, Iran’s Leader Ayatollah Khamenei urged the Judiciary to immediately punish the perpetrators.
Also a top story was the move by a large number of celebrities to decline an invitation to attend President Hassan Rouhani’s Iftar (fast-breaking) ceremony. They have cited people’s economic problems and Rouhani’s unfulfilled promises as the main reasons behind their decision; however, conservative papers and government officials have criticized the move, saying that the conditions have not changed since last year when the same celebrities expressed their support for Rouhani.
