Rouhani made the remarks addressing a gathering in the northwestern Iranian city on Tuesday May 31.
“No one is entitled to discriminate between different religious and ethnic groups,” said the President, stressing that the system of the Islamic Republic of Iran is based on merit. Opportunities in Iran will be available for anyone who is skilled and qualified, he added.
There should not be any difference between Kurds, Turks, Persians and Arab people in Islamic Iran, he stressed. “We are all Iranians and we are proud of it, and we are Muslims and proud of that too.”
Iranian Kurds enjoy a good level of security and standard of living, one which is much better than what Turkish, Syrian and Iraqi Kurds have, he said.
