US Relocation of Embassy Not to Go Unpunished: Iran’s Larijani

Addressing an emergency meeting of the IPU’s Permanent Palestine Committee in Tehran, Larijani underlined that the US doesn’t remain committed to any treaty.

“The provocative moves by the US to withdraw from the JCPOA and relocate its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem al-Quds will create more tensions in the region and the world,” he said during the Monday meeting.

He then called on Islamic states to get united against the imprudent and illegitimate move of US President Donald Trump to recognise Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel’s capital.

Larijani referred to the widespread objections by many Arab states to the US move to relocate its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem al-Quds and added the objections need to be backed by some serious practical steps.

“Today all the world has come to this conclusion that the US is the origin of chaos and insecurity in the whole world.”

He then referred to the US withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal and said the US remains committed to no international treaty.

“One day it violates the Paris Climate Agreement and breaches its customs duty with China and the EU. Then, the other day, under pressure, it retreats and resumes its earlier agreements with the EU. One day, it sets unjust laws for entrance of immigrants from Islamic states and the other day, it withdraws from the JCPOA which was signed by itself. One day it says will not remain in Syria and the other day urges regional states to provide it with money for remaining in Syria,” he noted.

Iran’s parliament speaker then added the US has been supporting terrorism since a long time ago and added the US officials have confessed that Washington created ISIS.

“This shows that the US is suffering from decision-making crisis and deals with the international issues in an unconsidered manner. The US president can’t recognize the long-term fallouts of his decisions.”

Larijani underlined that today the Palestinians need assistance from freedom-seeking people across the world more than ever and added backing the oppressed nation of Palestine is not only a humanitarian move but also a considered measure to help those people who have paid a heavy price for defending the Islamic World.

He lashed out at the international silence over the horrible developments in the Palestinian lands and said the Palestinians want to have the right to decide for themselves.

Larijani then referred to the Zionist regime’s repeated failures in the region and said the latest developments initiated by Israel are aimed at covering up its defeats.

He finally called on the Islamic states to get united in fight against the US’ unjust move against the Palestinians.

Israeli Forces Kill 18 Palestinians, Wound over 500 near Gaza Border

According to Palestine Al Yawm television network, at least 18 people were killed on Monday by Israeli forces near the Gaza border as protests intensified on the 70th anniversary of Israel’s founding. Over 520 people were reported wounded.

Three kids were among the dead, the report added.

The Israeli army said 10,000 Gazans were demonstrating in 10 different locations along the border. It said thousands more were located in gathering points several hundred meters from the fence.

The killings have drawn international criticism, but the United States, which has angered the Palestinians and Muslims by relocating its embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv, has echoed Israel in accusing Gaza’s ruling Hamas movement of instigating violence.

The protests are scheduled to culminate on Tuesday, the day Palestinians mourn as the “Nakba” or “Catastrophe” when, in 1948, hundreds of thousands of them were driven out of their homes.

The Israeli military claims its troops are defending the border and firing in accordance with the rules of engagement.

Palestinian witnesses said Israeli aircraft also dropped flammable material on Monday to burn tires that protesters had stacked in preparation for them to be set on fire and rolled at the fence.

The Israelis also fired tear gas at people inside the tented encampments that have sprung up along the border, witnesses said.

Rageh Canyon; Paradise at Heart of Desert

Rageh Canyon is located 20 km from Rafsanjan, near the two eco-tourism attractions of the province, namely Meymand Village and Shahdad kaluts.

The sharp cones, eroded pillars and columns, arches and striped walls of up to 100 metres high are among the special parts of this region, a report by Mehr News Agency said.

Passing through the valley’s slopes, you encounter big and small holes, some of which are natural and others have been built by humans in the past.

Walking along the 20-kilometre valley provides the opportunity for every visitor to see the effects of soil erosion.

There are currently three geo-parks in Iran, which include Qeshm Global Geopark, Aras Geopark and Rageh Geopark.

Turkey’s Orhan Pamuk Talks of His Deep Interest in Persian Fables

During his recent visit to Tehran, Pamuk elaborated on his love for the Persian history and literature, and how his works had been inspired by Iran.

He says he was told by many of his readers that his novel “My Name is Red” is a Persian novel in terms of style and atmosphere.

“Though the novel revolves around characters and events in the Ottoman era in Istanbul, it is the Persian fables and arts which have the final say there. I’m interested in the Iranian history under Safavid dynasty and my works are built on this era’s arts,” he said in a recent interview with Etemad daily newspaper.

Elaborating on his career as a professional writer, Pamuk said his love to write has turned him into a writer. “Whatever feeling I may have, the love to write remains unchanged in me. I like to depict whatever I see either through writing or painting,”

Pamuk went on to say that he can spend a long time alone in a room by writing and painting and added, “But my imagination does not remain in the room and wonders around the world.”

Criticism of Turkish Gov’t for Restricting Freedom of Opinion

Elsewhere in the interview, Pamuk referred to the prices he has already paid for his protests against certain policies of Turkey’s ruling party and added, “Once I put my weight behind the Armenians and in response the government decided to ban my book in some cities.”

He also added that the point of his criticism is directed at the Turkish government rather than nation for restricting the freedom of expression.

“I maintain that Turkey should join the EU because the membership will promote our culture, economy and politics. I believe in Liberal Democracy principles and criticise any move distracting us from the principles.”

The Noble laureate underlined that winning the Noble prize has turned him into Turkey’s ambassador at the international level, and he is not happy about it.
