Iran Pledges Unfaltering Support for Afghan Stability, Security

Iran Hopes Intra-Afghan Talks will Lead to Lasting Peace: Rouhani

In a telephone conversation with President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani on Monday, President Rouhani emphasized that Iran’s policy is based upon the promotion of brotherly and friendly ties and cooperation with all neighbors, particularly with Afghanistan.

“We consider growing stability and security in Afghanistan to be in line with the promotion of our own stability and security, and believe that differences between the groups would be resolved through negotiations and within the framework of principles, and we always stand by the Afghan government and nation in this path,” the Iranian president noted.

Congratulating Ghani on his new term as the president of Afghanistan, President Rouhani hailed the recent compromise among the Afghan political groups and expressed hope that the efforts by all governmental bodies and the High Council for National Reconciliation would contribute to peace, stability and security in Afghanistan.

The Iranian president also hailed the growing relations between Tehran and Kabul, saying, “We must try to speed up the implementation of agreements and joint projects, including the Khaf-Herat railroad which is a major economic project between the two countries.”

President Rouhani noted that completion of a railroad project in southeast Iran connecting the port city of Chabahar to Zahedan within the next year would help promote transportation and freight services in the region.

He finally pointed to Iran’s success and advances in tackling the novel coronavirus pandemic, stressing that the Islamic Republic will keep providing the Afghan migrants with free medical services and treatment.

For his part, President Ghani expressed gratitude to the Iranian government and nation for offering medical services to the Afghan migrants in the battle with COVID-19.

Highlighting Iran’s constructive role in regional stability and security, Ghani called on Iran to support the process of peace and negotiations in Afghanistan.

He further hailed the growing relations between Iran and Afghanistan in various fields, and expressed hope that the efforts by the two countries’ officials would broaden cooperation between the two neighbors.

Since the outbreak of coronavirus in Iran in February, the Afghan migrants and residents in Iran have received free medical supplies such as disinfectants, masks and gloves.

Iran has hosted Afghan refugees since the late 1970s following the occupation of their country by the Soviet Union troops. Although many of those refugees have returned to their country voluntarily, there are still hundreds of thousands of documented and undocumented Afghans in Iran.

Iran’s Beauties in Photos: Mughan Plain

Mughan Plain

Dasht-e Mughan or Mughan Plain consists of three counties: Germi, Bileh-savar and Parsabad. Situated in Ardabil province’s northern part, the plain is bound on the north and east by the Republic of Azerbaijan, on the south by the city of Meshkinshahr, and by Arasbaran region on the west.

The nature of Mughan area is divided into three parts: mountains, foothills and plains.
The mountainous part includes the southern, south-western and western highlands of the region, which reaches from a minimum height of 100m to 700m in the south and west with a slope of more than 10 percent.

The plain areas in the north of Mughan region, on the other hand, extend to the banks of the Aras River with a very gentle slope – less than 5%. The plains mainly consist of agricultural lands due to their fine-grained, sedimentary, fertile alluvial soils; and are densely populated.

The greenest north-western border strip of Iran is located in Mughan plain: the stunning region of Mouran in Germi county, which includes 63 villages. A large part of the region is covered by a lush vegetation, which is known as the land of two springs. In April and May, also September, this part of plain is full of colourful spring flowers.

Despite its pristine, spectacular nature and numerous historical monuments, Germi is among the lesser known tourist areas of Ardabil province.

Top General Warns Enemies of Iran’s Harsh Response to Miscalculation

Iran Will Definitely Change Approach to UAE: Top General

In a statement marking the anniversary of passing away of late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini, Major General Baqeri underlined that the Iranian Armed Forces are fully prepared to counter the threats and respond to the hostile measures.

The Iranian military forces are vigorously protecting the country’s independence, territorial integrity, and national security, the commander noted.

Under the guidance of Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Armed Forces are sticking to a strategy to “boost deterrent power, maximize defense capacities, and update the offense tactics proportional to the potential threats posed by the front of enemies,” the senior commander added.

Major General Baqeri further gave an assurance that Iran’s military forces remain vigilant at all times to deal with the modern seditions and plots against the Islamic Republic, noting, “As we have announced several times, we will decisively and immediately give retaliatory response to any miscalculation from them (enemies) at any place and any time.”

He also highlighted the failure of the “front of hegemony, Zionism, and the filthy regional reactionary” regimes to harm the Islamic Republic and the Revolution during three decades after passing away of Imam Khomeini, saying their full-blown media wars, cultural onslaught, economic threats and wars, military threats, and psychological warfare against Iran have all ended in failure.

The top commander then pointed to Iran’s strategy of “active and progressive resistance, not stationary and passive resistance”, saying such approach has led to the formation of resistance groups in the Islamic world and the victory of resistance front in West Asia.

Major General Baqeri finally said such active resistance has defeated the ISIS terrorist group and Takfiri terrorism, thwarted the evil plots of the Greater Middle East and the Deal of the Century, and has turned the US withdrawal from the region into a regional and international demand.

‘American People Rising Up against Inequality, Discrimination’

‘American People Rising Up against Inequality, Discrimination’

Fereydoon Majlesi made the comment in an interview with the Iranian Labour News Agency (ILNA) where he shed more light on the different dimensions of the ongoing protests in the United States in the wake of police brutality against African Americans.

“In order to review the dimensions and consequences of the murder of a black citizen (George Floyd) in the state of Minnesota, one should take a quick look at the history of racism in the United States,” he said.Protests at inequality US

“If we refer to this history, we can easily find out that it has been more than 150 years that racial discrimination and humiliation of black people in the US have been going on,” he added.

“By reviewing documents, we realize that this issue has its roots in inequality in the US. We remember that the French Revolution was staged on a platform of equality and fraternity, and decades later, Martin Luther King in the United States hoped to see a day when his children and the black community are living alongside white people without any discrimination. So, I believe the current event and the crisis unfolding in the city of Minneapolis in the state of Minnesota has its roots in inequality,” the analyst noted.‘American People Rising Up against Inequality, Discrimination’

“I believe we are witnessing a new Apartheid in the United States, and the events which have occurred in the past few days shows well that modern barbarism still exists in this country, and now we are seeing another manifestation of this, with Trump being in the spotlight,” he added.

“The fact of the matter is that Trump considers his personal benefit even when he is laughing. In other words, if you see him laughing on TV, rest assured that some business interests lie behind his laughter, and whenever you see him angry, you should know that his and his associates’ interests are in danger,” said the analyst.Protests at inequality in US 1

“This approach is in stark contrast to Obama’s. Now, if we generalize this simple issue to all ongoing events in the United States, we will see that a state-wide uprising has emerged in Minneapolis which shoes people in the United States, especially black people, cannot stand racial discrimination, particularly in the 21st century,” he said.

This former Iranian diplomat then touched upon Trump’s orders to use excessive police violence against protestors.

“Trump’s behaviour in the last three months following the coronavirus outbreak shows his thoughts not only bear testament to racism, but also is a manifestation of a disorganized policy which is not compatible with the US society and the international community led by capitalism,” he said.‘American People Rising Up against Inequality, Discrimination’

“We saw that Trump resorted to thugs and hooligans on motorbikes to implement his plans with regards to ending the coronavirus quarantine, and these are exactly the very same people who voted for him in 2016. This mentality of Trump has prompted [people] from journalists to Twitter users to oppose him, and this is an event which has taken place in the US for the first time,” he said.

“Hence, I believe the killing of George Floyd by police and the release of footage on social media showing him dying can expose the Trump administration and his conservative team to new problems; moreover, his administration has now come under heavy criticism over the management of the campaign against the coronavirus outbreak,” the analyst added.‘American People Rising Up against Inequality, Discrimination’

“We saw a black CNN journalist being arrested in front of the camera of this very news network, which has triggered a very strong reaction by media outlets and shows that there is no tolerance in Trump’s dealing with protestors; but his stance and attitude toward the Minnesota issue as well as violence against protestors will definitely cause problems for him both inside the United States and abroad,” he said.

“Trump’s actions against protestors and the use of violence in the country will deal a heavy blow to his political honour and status in the 2020 US presidential election. This comes as Trump tries to change the situation with a few smiles and democratic words by bringing Mike Pence (US vice president) into the playing field; however, everyone knows that Mike Pence is much more religious and has a more extremist look than Trump, and that’s why his words won’t work in this regard,” he said.Protests at inequality in US 5

“So, the piling up of the current problems as well as foreign criticism of Trump and his behaviour over the past three months can easily and definitively bring Bernie Sanders into Joe Biden’s camp, and I believe they will contribute more heavily. On the other hand, Trump has invested in mobilizing the general public, and now his is seeking to take the masses on board,” he said.

‘Several Iranian Firms Working on Coronavirus Vaccine Development’

5 Iranian COVID-19 Vaccines on WHO’s List of Vaccines Candidates

At the moment, five firms are working in that field, according to an Iranian official.

“These days, a lot of news is heard from the four corners of the world about achievements gained in the domain of coronavirus vaccine production,” said Mostafa Qanei, the secretary of the Biotechnology Development Committee of the Science and Technology Department of the Presidential Office.

“This news is mostly released by modern and developed countries around the world,” he said.

“But Iran, too, is moving in tandem with these countries by releasing news about the great scientific potential of its knowledge-based companies,” he added.

The official underlined that Iran is in the lead when it comes to research and other measures about the COVID-19 virus.

He said Iranian scientists are also producing equipment needed to tackle the disease despite all sanctions and economic problems.

Iran among Leading Countries in Fight against Coronavirus: Health Minister

Iran Successfully Tests COVID-19 Vaccine on Animals

Saeid Namaki said on Sunday Iran’s success comes despite unfair sanctions imposed by the United States.

“Fortunately, Iran’s situation with regards to fighting coronavirus is very acceptable despite all the hardship and problems caused by sanctions, and despite all economic restrictions and equipment shortages they imposed on us,” he said.

“We can say with certainty that Iran is one of the countries that are at the forefront of the campaign against coronavirus,” he said.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the minister said it would be naïve to think the coronavirus outbreak is over.

“Today, we should observe the minimum [required directives] and maintain social distancing and try to keep abiding by instructions and health protocols,” he said.

“The biggest problem would be for people to think that everything is back to normal and the coronavirus is gone,” the minister noted.

He urged authorities to not believe that the situation is normal and everything could be returned to normal.

The health minister further said the COVID-19 outbreak has been contained and managed in most provinces.

“In some provinces, we are seeing new surges in the disease, but our colleagues are on the watch, and if people continue to maintain their rapport and national unity while following health tips, we hope that we will have more tranquil days in two months’ time,” he noted.

The minister also said there is no shortage of hospital beds in the country.
“We are also not worried about how to manage our own colleagues with regards to the coronavirus outbreak,” he said.

“Today, we have much more control compared to previous days and we have devised more modern health protocols, and we have not yet unveiled our achievements related to vaccine development,” he said.

“Fortunately, we are not behind the world in terms of producing vaccines, medicine and medical equipment; rather, we are ahead of many countries,” he said.

He once again urged people to further comply with health protocols to stem the spread of the coronavirus outbreak.

US Revealing Its Ugly Face by Cracking Down on Anti-Racism Protests: Iran

US Revealing Its Ugly Face by Cracking Down on Anti-Racism Protests: Iran

Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi touched upon US President Donald Trump’s racist behaviour as well as US police’s inhumane violence against its citizens and black people.

“Unlike its false human rights slogans, the arrogant US government has revealed its ugly and inhumane face more than ever these days by confronting public protests, and has destabilized the pillars of its false democracy by resorting to the most violent methods,” said General Shekarchi, the deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.

“The arrogant US Establishment is witnessing widespread unrest and riots across the nation these days while White House officials are contributing to many problems in the region and across the globe by pursuing interventionist policies,” he added.

The top general touched upon false news spread by some Western media where they blamed Iranian border guards for the deaths of a number of Afghan nationals on the Iranian border.

“Such false reports are aimed at harming cordial relations between Iran and Afghanistan,” he noted.
“Iran has hosted more than three million Afghan refugees over the past three decades, and deep-rooted religious and ethnic bonds [between the two nations] have left no doubt that some divisive moves cannot serve as a hurdle to the sustenance of these bonds,” he added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, General Shekarchi referred to the US Treasury Department’s farcical move to put on its sanctions list the name of several Iranian officials and military commanders, including the interior minister and the police chief.

“Such troublesome moves which are made out of desperation will not be able to harm, even slightly, the willpower of people and officials of the Islamic Establishment when it comes to countering the hegemonic and domineering temperament of the US,” he said.

“The hollow grandeur of the United States is falling apart, and the sound of its bones breaking is heard more clearly than ever,” he noted.

General Shekarchi said the widespread unrest across the US and the divergence of Washington’s traditional allies are a testament to the truthfulness of his remarks.

Iranian Firms Develop 7 IT, Communications Products

Iranian Firms Develop 7 IT, Communications Products

The products compare to similar foreign-made products as far as quality is concerned. Now, many organizations and institution are using these products.

“At the moment, we have managed to domestically develop seven knowledge-based products in the field of communications and information technology,” says Aynaz Mohajer, the CEO of the Iranian Sharq Golden Communications Network knowledge-based company.

She says one of the products developed is a vehicle tracker used by car fleet management systems. The tracker system can be used to monitor and track vehicles outside organizations.

“This system provides the relevant organization with information such as speed, the time and place of stops, and the fuel consumption amount,” she says.

“After being installed, the system gains full software control over trips. This product is available with quality similar to European products, but at a lower price,” she says.
“They also have more capabilities compared to foreign-made ones,” she adds.

“If foreign-made trackers break down, they cannot be used again. Given a lack of … spare parts for them on the market, the cannot be repaired. But this [Iranian] product has backup and aftersales services, and it can be expanded depending on the requirements of the relevant organization,” she said.

Another product developed is related to electronic payment. The product directly connects the user to the bank.

Yet another product developed by this knowledge-based company is a tracker used to track marine vessels. The product fully displays different marine maps. This product is fitted with a satellite-operated ground positioning system (GPS) and can show position and find directions on the map.

Another product is a network quality monitoring system.

The sixth product is a business support system (BSS) used by telecommunications companies. The system eases contact with customer and offers a variety of services to them.

The last product is a public Wi-Fi internet provider system.
