COVID-19 in Iran: 5 deaths, 76 new cases

The Iranian health ministry figures on Saturday showed that 76 people had tested positive for the Covid-19 in the past 24 hours. The death toll from the Coronavirus pandemic also increased to 144,592 with 5 more patients killed by the deadly disease during the time span.

Five more Iranians have died from the coronavirus over the past 24 hours bringing the total deaths to 144,592, Iran’s Health Ministry said on Saturday.

76 new cases of infection with COVID-19 were found over the past 24 hours, 35 of whom were hospitalized, it added.

The Iranian Health Ministry noted that 7,332,819 patients out of a total of 7,558,078 infected people have recovered or been discharged from hospitals.

101 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition and in intensive care units, it added.

The Iranian Health Ministry also announced that 65,124,082 Iranians have received the first dose and 58,530,655 people have so far received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Moreover, 31,342,156 people have also received the third or fourth shots as the booster jab.
