Shamkhani talks to British national security advisor over Vienna talks

The secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council has said he held talks with his British counterpart Sir Stephen Lovegrove over the phone on Sunday afternoon.

Ali Shamkhani said he and the British national security advisor discussed regional and international developments and also the sanctions removal talks in Vienna.

He did not give further details.

Iran and the P4+1 group, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany, have been engaged in talks over the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal, JCPOA, that went into disarray after the US’s unilateral withdrawal in 2018.
