‘Iran Must Not Pay Heed to EU Threats on Its Commitment Cuts’

Hamid-Reza Asefi, the former Spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry at the administration of President Mohammad Khatami, said the Europeans are threatening that with Tehran’s beginning of its fourth stage of nuclear commitment cuts, they will exit the JCPOA, but Tehran should not pay attention to their threats.

“The Europeans could not even launch the INSTEX,” he said, stressing that nothing will happen if they withdraw from the deal.

“Brian Hook said we urged Europeans not to launch the INSTEX! How can Iran trust them when Europe can’t launch the mechanism?” added Asefi.

Asefi believes that the Europeans are seeking to waste time regarding the nuclear deal, and the authorities in the Islamic Republic are well aware of this, and that the fourth step was a very wise move.

In the fourth phase of commitment cuts, Iran started enrichment at Fordow facility by injection of UF6 gas, whose tank was transferred to Fordow a few days before from Natanz nuclear site. Fordow’s enrichment capacity is expected to increase gradually in the coming days.

By injection of gas into centrifuges at Fordow, the capacity of the 8,600 SWUs will reach 9,500 SWUs. At present, as the enrichment capacity at Fordow increases, about 15% to 20% has been added to the country’s enrichment capacity.

Commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Major General Hossein Salami said Iran will not stop when it comes to improving its defence capabilities.

He ruled out the possibility of any talks on the country’s missile power due to sanctions.

“Such a thing (negotiations) will never happen. We will neither stop nor retreat when it comes to increasing our defence capabilities because this is one of our red lines; so, our defence capabilities cannot be discussed, adjusted, stopped or harnessed,” said the top commander.

He then touched upon the military’s new defence achievements.

“What I can say about the IRGC’s new military accomplishments is that we have made considerable progress in defence capabilities and military industries, and that is why our forces are being equipped with more and more state-of-the-art equipment, but I cannot announce what they are in public,” he said.

General Salami then underlined that Iran is capable of defeating any enemy.

“I reassure the Iranian nation that he Armed Forces, including the IRGC, have enough potential to confront any enemy, no matter how big it is; so, our nation should rest assured and live with peace of mind because we are able to crush any enemy,” said the top commander.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he said commanders of the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad Movement are entitled to defend themselves.

“The defenceless Palestinian nations have always had the legitimate right to defend themselves against the crimes committed by the Zionist regime [of Israel],” he said.

General Salami said by committing brutalities against Palestinians, the Israel regime is only pushing itself to the brink of annihilation.

“The tolerance of the Muslim world is gradually wearing thin, and the Israeli regime will the set the stage for its own downfall by continuing its hostilities,” he said.

Islamic Unity Conference Kicks Off in Tehran

Islamic Unity Conference Kicks Off in Tehran

350 personalities from 93 countries are attending the event, which is being held on November 14-16.

This year’s theme of the conference is “Ummah unity in defending the al-Aqsa Mosque.”

The conference started on Thursday with a speech by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

The International Islamic Unity Conference is held annually in an effort to lay the ground for stronger unity and solidarity among Muslims and provide solutions for their problems.

The conference is mounted so as to promote unity of the Islamic society which has been a major axis in the thoughts of many leading Muslim intellectuals worldwide.

The World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought annually holds the international conference on the occasion of birthday anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Islamic Unity Week.

The 17th day of the month of Rabi al-Awwal in the lunar Hijri calendar is believed by Shiite Muslims to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), while Sunni Muslims regard the 12th day of the month as the birthday of the last prophet.

Teenager Stabs Family to Death under Influence of Khashoggi Murder

Teenager Stabs Family to Death under Influence of Khashoggi Murder

The crime was committed at 7:43 pm on October 25, 2019 in the town of Shahriar near the capital, Tehran.

The 18-year-old boy entered the local police station with injured hands, looking disturbed. He asked for help in a loud voice.

“A masked man jumped down the wall into our house and killed my family. He wanted to kill me, too, but I managed to escape,” said the boy.

Teenager Stabs Family to Death under Influence of Khashoggi MurderAfter hearing these shocking remarks, police officers immediately went to his home with him only to find the lifeless bodies of the boy’s father, mother and younger brother, who had been stabbed several times.

Inspectors began to interrogate the boy, called Amir-Abbas, as the prime suspect. After a few hours, he confessed to killing his 45-year-old father, Ali, 44-year-old mother, Habibeh, as well as Amir-Ali, his younger brother who was only 13 years of age.

“Based on the confessions of this young boy, he had premeditated the murder out of grudge, jealousy, despair, and his parents’ discrimination in favour of his brother,” said a senior police official.

In an interview, Amir-Abbas said his family did not like him, but loved his brother.

“I hated them all,” said Amir-Abbas, who is a high school student.

“My father called me a worthless leech,” he added.

“I had been thinking on how to kill my father for a year. Once, I wanted to pour industrial alcohol into his drink, but I was afraid he might stay alive. When there was talk of the murder of Khashoggi, I thought I could kill my father the same way, so that no trace would be left of him, but I changed my mind later,” he said.

“It was around 4:30. My father was out and my mother had gone to a religious ceremony. I wasn’t able to kill them all together because they would make a noise. So, when I found my brother alone, I stabbed him 20 times and hid his body in the bathroom. Then I waited for my father to come home. Then I took him by surprise from behind and stabbed him to death.”

“At that moment, I had a sense of victory. I threw his body into the bedroom. An hour later, my mother got back home and I killed her in the yard. I didn’t hate her, but I had to finish it,” he said.

Psychological tests conducted on Amir-Abbas show he suffers from Schizoid Personality Disorder. People suffering from this condition are emotionally cold and hold themselves aloof from their families.

US, Israel Seeking to Consign Palestine Issue to Oblivion: Iran

Rouhani at Islamic Unity Conference

At the opening of the 32nd International Islamic Unity Conference on Thursday, Hassan Rouhani said that Palestine as well as the holy Quds are the most pressing issue of the Muslim world.

“All efforts have been aimed at making us forget what crimes the West led by the US has committed against the world of Islam over the past years,” said the president at the opening ceremony of the 32nd International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran.

“Every effort has been made to make us forget that the holy land of Palestine has been seized by a group of occupiers and that there are millions of Palestinian refugees in the world,” he added.

“All attempts are aimed at reducing the importance of the issue that Palestinian people should return to their homeland. The enemies have secured some success in this regard, but fortunately failed to achieve their wicked objectives,” he said.

“Although the enemies have, in recent years, sought to sideline the issue of Palestine as the top-priority issue of the Muslim world and consign it to oblivion, the world public opinion as well as religious scholars and elite haven’t allowed them and won’t allow them to do so,” he noted.

He said the United States and the Israeli regime have failed in their schemes because of the awakening and vigilance of the Muslim world.

President Rouhani underlined that Washington and Tel Aviv have been the source of all wars, killings and differences in the region over the past three decades.

“The younger generation should come to realize that the US has not been and will not be a friend of regional nations and Muslims, and that regional issues should be settled by its own people,” he underscored.

“From the killing of people in Afghanistan to the killing of people in Iraq and of the defenceless Yemeni people as well as the sowing of discord in Islamic countries, all have been the consequences of the United States’ vicious plots in this region,” he said.

The president noted that Washington aims to loot Muslims’ resources and the region’s oil.

He underlined that no one has any doubt that hegemonic powers, especially the US, have left behind no good and positive trace.

President Rouhani challenged those who believe Washington can offer solutions to bring just one example as proof.

“We should not forget Iran is the only country to have turned the Israeli base and centre into the Palestinian embassy,” he said.

Iran, Belgium Discuss Crises in Yemen, Syria

During the Wednesday meeting in Tehran, the two sides discussed Syria developments, including the latest situation in the northeast of Euphrates, the de-escalation zone in Idlib, the process of the formation of Syria’s Constitutional Committee, the issue of refugees and the reconstruction of Syria.

Kenes and Khaji evaluated the launch of the Syrian Constitutional Committee as a positive move and touched upon the unmatched role of the Astana Talks in this regard.

Moreover, they called for the continuation of the constitutional committee’s work without foreign interference, stressing that the Syrian people must determine the future of Syria.

During the meeting they also discussed the latest developments in Yemen and the need to end the crisis in the Arab country through political talks.

In the Wednesday meeting, Khaji underlined the Islamic Republic of Iran’s support for any effort to establish peace and security in Yemen.

“Cessation of war, ending the Yemen blockade, and the establishment of Yemeni-Yemeni talks are prerequisites for achieving a comprehensive and all-inclusive political solution in the country,” Khaji said.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes continued collaborations with Sweden in this regard,” he added.

The Iranian official pointed to Ansarullah’s fulfillment of its commitments under the Stockholm Agreement and its unilateral implementation of the deal, and slammed the Saudi-led coalition’s stonewalling and failure to meet its commitments.

He also expressed hope that the deal would be revived and implemented in full with the international community’s follow-ups.

The Swedish special envoy for Syria, in turn, referred to the Stockholm Agreement as the first deal accepted by the Yemeni sides, and said, “Sweden supports the full implementation of the deal and the efforts of the UN and its special envoy for Yemen to achieve a comprehensive political solution.

He also stressed the necessity for continued cooperation between Sweden and the Islamic Republic of Iran to help end the Yemen crisis.

In December 2018, Ansarullah delegates and loyalists to Yemen’s former President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi held a round of peace talks in Rimbo, north of the Swedish capital, which culminated in the announcement of the Stockholm agreement.

The document included three provisions, namely a ceasefire along the Hudaydah front and the redeployment of armed forces out of the city and its port, an agreement on prisoner exchange, and a statement of understanding on the Yemeni city of Ta’izz.

The port of Hudaydah is the main entry point for humanitarian aid into Yemen.

There have been several attempts to end the Saudi war on Yemen so far, all in vain due to Riyadh’s intransigence.

Ansarullah has been bringing to a halt its retaliatory missile and drone attacks against Saudi Arabia since September 2019.

Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies launched the devastating campaign against Yemen in March 2015, with the goal of bringing the government of Hadi back to power and crushing Ansarullah.

Iran Slams UN for Ignoring US Violations of Resolution 2231

Iran Condemns Bahrain’s Plan to Normalize Relations with Israel

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Gholam-Hossein Dehqani raised the criticism in a Wednesday meeting with Axel Kenes, the Belgian Foreign Ministry’s Director General for Multilateral Affairs and Globalisation, in Tehran.

He also underlined the significant role of other Security Council member states in opposition to the US’ unilateralism and instrumental use of the UN principal organs.

The Iranian diplomat also pointed to the Security Council’s one-sided approach on issues like the Yemen crisis, and its insufficient attention to the humanitarian aspects of such crises.

He urged Belgium as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council which represents all other UN member states to make further efforts to settle those crises peacefully.

Kenes, whose country acts as a facilitator of the implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 2231, is on a two-day trip to Tehran.

Security Council Resolution 2231 endorsed the multilateral nuclear accord, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which was signed between Iran and the major world powers, including the United States, in 2015.

Under the JCPOA, Iran undertook to put limits on its nuclear program in exchange for the removal of nuclear-related sanctions imposed against Tehran.

However, US President Donald Trump pulled his country out of the JCPOA in May 2018 and re-imposed harsh sanctions against the Islamic Republic in defiance of global criticisms.

In response to the US campaign of “maximum pressure”, Tehran has so far rowed back on its nuclear commitments four times in compliance with articles 26 and 36 of the JCPOA but stressed that its retaliatory measures will be reversible as soon as Europe finds practical ways to shield the mutual trade from the US sanctions.
