Iran Develops Neural Prosthesis for Spinal Cord Injury Sufferers (15)

The system was unveiled in a ceremony in Tehran attended by Iranian Vice President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari.

The system helps those suffering from spinal cord injuries to use their muscles alone through neural stimulation.

The system is equipped with a computer-programmable micro-stimulating device which controls the neural network by establishing a direct link with nerve cells.

One of the key features of the system is that it has a software and a graphic mediator that make it possible to be used in software environments.

The product falls within the domain of neuroscience. It was developed by students at Iran University of Science and Technology and researchers at the Electronic Neural Systems Technology Company at the university.

Revenge for Gen. Soleimani’s Killing to End US Presence in Mideast: IRGC

Major General Hossein Salami (1)

General Salami said the revenge will definitely be painful and make aggressors regret their actions.

“The response will have definitive and effective outcomes and end the Americans’ presence, so that they will have no place in the Muslim world any longer,” he said.

“However, the quality, time and scale of a response to them remains confidential until enemies receive our responses and all Muslims across the world witness the effects of this confrontation and harsh and crushing response,” he noted.

He said revenge for the assassination of General Soleimani will take place in due time in a wide geographical sphere with determining effects.

“Anyone who hosts the US is an enemy of Muslim nations; we are warning them to rethink their behaviour and covert plots; we are monitoring them; they should take care not to fall victim to US policies … and not to pay the price for the Americans’ policy and strategy,” the top general said.

“With the Americans’ presence [in the region] coming to an end, the region will get to enjoy stability, prosperity, balance and security,” he said.

US Asks 16 Countries to Convince Iran Not to Retaliate

General Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan

“Following the assassination of General Soleimani, Americans asked 16 countries to convince Iranians not to do anything, or if they do, they just assassinate a US leader,” said Brigadier General Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan.

“There is no doubt that General Soleimani’s demise will not remain unanswered, and we will severely respond to the US move,” he added.

Iran: US Forces in Region Like Piece of Meat under IRGC’s Teeth

Iraqi, Iranian Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Developments

In a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif on Saturday evening, Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Alhakim offered condolences over the martyrdom of General Qassem Soleimani.

The two senior diplomats also discussed the latest developments in the region and in Iraq.

In the conversation, Foreign Minister Zarif emphasized that the move by the American military forces to assassinate General Soleimani, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and their entourage was an act of terrorism, and stressed the need to respect Iraq’s independence and territorial integrity.

The two foreign ministers also talked about the consequences of the US’ recent terrorist action.

World Must Take Concerted Action against US, Rouhani Tells Erdogan

US Imperialism More Perilous than Coronavirus: Rouhani

In a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday, President Rouhani emphasized that inaction and silence on the US’ cruel attack on General Soleimani would embolden the aggressors.

“If we do not have a united voice against the US aggression, the entire region will face a major threat,” President Rouhani told Erdogan.

“The US has today committed a serious crime against us, and if we remain silent, such measure will be taken against the other countries tomorrow,” the Iranian president warned.

Decrying the US government’s “organized and state-sponsored assassination” of a popular Iranian military commander, the president said such American crime has also violated Iraq’s national sovereignty and independence.

“We expect all of our friends and neighbors to explicitly condemn such crime in this situation,” President Rouhani added, and thanked Turkey for expressing sympathy with the Iranian government and nation over the martyrdom of the IRGC Quds Force commander.

Iran and Turkey have always held consultations about the complicated issues,” the Iranian president noted, adding, “In order to help settle the problems in Syria, the efforts will continue at the level of heads of Iran, Turkey and Russia.”

He also hoped to have a meeting with President Erdogan in Tehran in the near future.

For his part, the Turkish leader offered his condolences to Iran over the loss of General Soleimani, saying the massive presence of people in the Iranian commander’s funeral in Iraq indicates the deceased’s popularity.

Stressing the need to establish regional stability and security, President Erdogan said, “Foreign interference and regional conflicts prevent the region from achieving calm and stability, and we should not allow such measures to threaten peace and stability of the region.”

He then expressed confidence that Iran will handle the situation by relying on wisdom and its robust governmental and cultural structure that has its roots in history.

The Turkish president finally unveiled plans for a visit to Tehran in the near future for talks on the bilateral and regional issues.

Iran Calls for Condemnation of US Attack on Gen. Soleimani

“In the current circumstances, we expect the friendly and neighbouring countries to condemn the US for (committing) such crime outspokenly, because the US has killed a great commander of the Iranian Armed Forces in another country in the most criminal manner,” President Rouhani said.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Foreign Minister of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, held in Tehran on Saturday.

“I hope that we’d all condemn the state terrorism with a united voice, and that the regional countries would further strengthen unity, solidarity and understanding,” the president added.

Denouncing the US assassination of General Soleimani in Baghdad as a fresh act of support for terrorism, President Rouhani said the Iranian general’s martyrdom would strengthen the Iranian nation’s resolve.

“The US will be responsible for all consequences of this terrorist action in the region, and it will have to pay a heavy price in this regard,” Rouhani underlined.

Stressing the need for closer consultations and coordination between Tehran and Doha, the president said, “The Americans have unfortunately entered a new path that could be very dangerous to the region. Thus, closer consultation and coordination among the friendly countries would be necessary under such conditions.”

Iran has never started any tension resulting in regional insecurity, the president noted, adding, “What have caused tensions and convulsions in the region in recent years are the US’ ill-advised measures.”

Taking a swipe at the US for making a big mistake by assassinating General Soleimani, President Rouhani said such US measure has also violated Iraq’s national sovereignty and has been an insult to the people of Iraq.

He further stressed the need to enhance the bilateral relations between Iran and Qatar, adding, “The Islamic Republic of Iran always regards close ties and consultations with Qatar as useful for the promotion of the bilateral and regional relations.”

President Rouhani finally expressed hope that the Iranian peace initiative, known as “Hormuz Peace Endeavor”, would bring the regional nations closer together.

The Qatari minister, for his part, hailed Iran as a brotherly neighbor, saying Doha is determined to broaden ties and promote cooperation with Tehran.

Expressing gratitude to Iran for supporting Qatar when his country was slapped with sanctions, Al Thani said Qatar feels sympathy for the Iranian government and nation following the painful loss of General Soleimani.

“Throughout history, Qatar has not received any harm or damage from Iran, while we have had problems and annoyance with those with which we have many things in common,” the Qatari official added.

Highlighting Qatar’s support for the Hormuz Peace Endeavor (HOPE), Al Thani said, “We hope that the regional countries would take a strategic step in light of the Hormuz Peace Endeavour (HOPE) initiative in the current circumstances, which could be the axis of peace and security in the region, and that they’d adopt insight and strategic thinking instead of tactical stances.”

World’s 3rd Menstrual Blood Stem Cells Bank Opens in Iran

The other two banks are up and running in the Unites States and India. Among the main functions of the bank are to cure infertility in women, cure menopause, preserve fertility, offer regenerative medicine services and treat some other diseases.

Menstrual blood stem cells are capable of regenerating and reviving menstruation stem cells as marrow and umbilical cord blood stem cells do.

Among the advantages of menstrual blood stem cells is their ability to regenerate and repair damaged tissue, the possibility of repeating sample-taking on a monthly basis, no need for the prescription of drugs, stimulating to produce more stem cells, and easy provision of cells without any pain or suffering.

Menstrual blood is a new source of known stem cells that had not been used so far.

According to a top official at Avicenna Infertility Center, using stem cells is instrumental in curing infertility. He says the bank is also a very important storage hub to cure other diseases.

“Women can refer to this bank and donate their cells to be frozen and kept for them and used when needed,” he said.
