Iran, Russia to Finalize Visa Waiver Program

Russian ‘Cultural Days’ Underway in Iran 1

Iranian Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Vali Teymouri said the final visa waiver deal will be clinched at the upcoming MITT exhibition in Russia.
“The Russia exhibit is of great significance,” he said.

“One of the key issues at the exhibition is to follow up on and finalize the issue of a visa waiver program for group tours between Iran and Russia,” he noted.

The top official also urged Iranian travel agencies to actively participate in the exhibition.
He further touched upon the importance of professional travel agencies becoming more and more active, saying special significance should be attached to the private sector.
He added another forthcoming event is the ITB exhibition in Germany in which Iran is also scheduled to participate.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the official said nowadays the negative propaganda by American media against Iran are losing their effect and people turn a deaf ear to the negative statements about Iran.

Newly-Developed Eye Band Aid Can Prevent Blindness

Azam Zare, executive director of the knowledge-based company, says the product is used in ophthalmic trauma and can prevent blindness in a short period of time.

She added that when the eye is traumatised and the eyeball ruptures, the doctor should treat the trauma within a short time. “When applied to the damaged eye, it can close the eyeball in less than a minute and prevent blindness,” she noted.

“We used synthetic polymers in the production of this eye band. All the raw materials for the production of this temporary eye band are resourced from within the country,” she said.

Zare went on to say that the foreign samples of the band are available, but no domestic sample was available and “we have been able to obtain its technical knowledge.”

“The price of the temporary samples of this band aid is $200, but the price of our product is 10 dollars, which is one-tenth of the foreign sample and can save a lot of money,” she maintained.

This band does not need microscope. It is compatible with the shape and dimensions of the injury, and it enjoys a unique technology with a reasonable price.

The executive director of this knowledge-based company emphasised that this product has entered the industry from the university, noting that currently the laboratory sample of the product has been produced and is scheduled to enter the market next year.

All Israeli Positions Within Range of IRGC Fire: Top Commander

General Hossein Salami

“We give a warning to Israelis to care about their acts of mischief. They are far littler than the Americans, much smaller and much more impotent by our calculations,” General Salami said in an interview with Al Mayadeen television channel.

The whole positions occupied by the Israeli regime are within the range of the IRGC’s fire, the commander added, noting that the source of such fire is not confined to Iran alone.

Today, the Israeli regime is hearing the voice of Muslim people from different countries next to the borders of the occupied territories, he stated, saying Muslims from Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Bahrain, Yemen and other countries are too close to the occupied territories.

“Strong capacities have been shaped for the decline of the Zionist regime, but the conditions are not still prepared for the final downfall,” General Salami explained, saying Israel itself is preparing the ground for its demise by continuing the acts of mischief.

“They (Israelis) must consider the fact that they are surrounded inside a strip. These concrete barriers or electronic walls or those soldiers who are tired of war and afraid of death, all of which make up a major part of the nature of Zionists, could not save them,” the IRGC chief warned.

He also advised the Zionist regime not to rely upon the US, because nobody has gained results from trusting Americans.

“We are fully prepared to take counteraction against them (Israelis). We have both the determination and the capability to do so. Thus, both the Americans and the Israelis must know that Iran is the land of harsh and calculated responses to whatever invader on whatever scale,” the general added.

Salami also pointed to a missile attack the IRGC launched against the Ain al-Assad airbase in retaliation for the US assassination of top Iranian commander Lt. General Qassem Soleimani, saying although the response was limited, it revealed that the Islamic Republic has reached such high level of power that it can take direct action against the US military bases.

He further warned that Iran’s responses to the US will go on, but “in different shapes”.

“The main response will be given when General Soleimani’s goals are fulfilled and his path is continued, and these goals generally revolve around the collapse and decline of the Zionist regime as well as ending the US presence in the region and the complete defeat of the US policies,” he underlined.

The commander finally noted that the IRGC had prepared hundreds of other missiles at the time of the attack on Ain al-Assad to launch them simultaneously on the other American bases and other locations.

“If the Americans had continued (to retaliate), we would have definitely extended the range of the attacks, as Ain al-Assad was only the starting point,” he concluded.

Iran Congratulates Azerbaijan on Successful Parliamentary Elections

  • In a statement on Monday, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi welcomed the elections that were held in favourable conditions and expressed hope that the relations between the two countries would be further developed and deepened.

Azerbaijan‘s governing party achieved victory in February 9 snap parliamentary election called by President Ilham Aliyev to consolidate power and speed up economic reforms.

The ballot was boycotted by some opposition parties in protest over limitations on access to media and the right to peaceably assemble.

Spring Cleaning for Nowruz in Northern Iran

Spring Cleaning in Northern Iran ahead of Nowruz

Khaneh-Tekani is what referred by Iranians to the annual spring cleaning before the arrival of Nowruz, the Persian New Year, in March.

Like all Iranians, the people of Mazandaran, northern Iran, practice this tradition, associated with the nature’s rebirth: to welcome the spring, women dust their homes, cover the walls with mud, and bake pastries with entirely village-made ingredients.

Here you can see Mizan’s photos of Persian New Year spring cleaning in Mazandaran:

Iran to Export Cancer Drugs to Thailand, Armenia

Iran to Export Cancer Drugs to Thailand, Armenia

The CEO of the company says “SinaDoxosome” has already been exported to Syria and Lebanon, and will be available in the markets of Thailand and Armenia in coming weeks.

Mahnaz Qomi, the CEO of the company, says “We expect it to arrive in Thailand and Armenia in mid-March,” Qomi said.

Used in the treatment of diseases such as breast and ovarian cancer, this product is less expensive than the similar foreign products on the Iranian pharmaceutical market.

Despite being sold at $700 per vial in regional markets, SinaDoxosome is being offered in the local market for about $30.

According to the company, SinaDoxosome has so far sold more than 6,000 vials in the country, indicating approval by oncologists.

SinaDoxosomes produced in Iran have less side effects than conventional doxorubicin because of its selective effect on the affected tissues.

US Must Explain Why Its Own Elections Ignore Majority Vote: Iran

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Mousavi said the Islamic Republic attaches significance to the issue of elections at a high level compared to other countries, especially those of the region.

He noted that the Iranian people have become accustomed to the contradictory remarks by some notorious US authorities.

Instead of questioning the elections in Iran, Mousavi said, the US officials should answer the questions of a wide range of people and elites in the United States and the world over the ambiguous and complex mechanisms of presidential elections in their own country in which the majority vote is ignored.

The US regime must also provide explanations for their extensive ties with countries that are alien to even the simplest forms of elections.”

The United States on Friday called into question the credibility of Iran’s parliamentary elections. The US representative for Iran had called the Iranian parliamentary elections set to be held on February 21 “pure theatre”, urging Tehran to give Iranian people “a real choice.”

Which One’s Better: Spanish or Iranian Saffron?

Saffron

The numerous benefits of saffron for health and even its therapeutic effect have turned it into a medicinal plant. On the other hand, it is also known as a popular type of spice because of its attractive taste, aroma, colour and its use in the food and cooking industries.

The main countries producing this product are Iran, Spain, India, Greece, Afghanistan, and China. However, almost 95 percent of the world’s saffron is cultivated in Iran, and growing this plant in Iran has a 4,000-year history. But why do so many people think this saffron is produced in Spain?

First, saffron production in Spain is about 1 tonne a year, while the country’s export is about 100 tonnes a year. Traders in the country mainly import Iranian saffron and repackage it in the name of Spanish saffron. Even in some cases imported Iranian saffron is blended with low quality Spanish saffron and exported. It is interesting to know that Spanish traders sell Iranian saffron two to four times more expensive.

Another point is that the best climate for cultivating saffron in the subtropical regions is in hot and dry summers. This climate can be found in some parts of Iran such as Khorasan province in its north-east near the Afghanistan border. Due to ecological conditions and suitable climate in Iran for saffron cultivation, this herb is produced with higher quality.

For example, according to reports, the quality of saffron in Iran is about 300 units, while in other parts of the world saffron quality reaches to about 200 units.

Of course, saffron in Iran and the world is categorised into several classes:

  • Superfine Saffron: The highest quality Iranian saffron
  • Fine Saffron: High quality saffron consisting of 3 strands of stigmas attached to each other
  • Sargol saffron: The most common saffron consumed in Iran with high quality and reasonable price
  • Pushal Saffron: The lowest price and of course good quality saffron mostly used in food industry

If you are interested in the properties of this herb, you can use it in preparing a variety of drinks and food. By drinking saffron tea, you can enjoy the attractive properties of saffron tea. Also, using saffron supplements that are produced and marketed in various forms is an easy way to use and benefit from saffron.
