Parkour Becoming All the Rage in Iran

Parkour Becoming All the Rage in Iran 20

The word Parkour is derived from the French word “parcourt” which refers to traversing. It means the art of movement in the simplest, fastest way possible.

With a focus on speed and simplicity, parkour’s goal is to teach everyone to jump over obstacles in one’s life. It is a fascinating sport with many fans.

That said, some citizens confuse parkour with another activity: they consider all the gymnastics-based performances done in the streets to be parkour; while most of them are in fact part of a sport called free-running.

Despite its great popularity and professional athletes, parkour hasn’t yet found a proper place in Iran.

There are many problems in the way of this sport. The absence of proper clubs and bodies, as well as the lack of material and non-material support, are enough to discourage the parkourists. These obstacles, however, don’t hinder their activity: they continue to work with more motivation than ever.

What follows are YJC’s photos of Iranian parkour athletes:

Blast in Eastern Tehran Related to Drill; No Damage Reported

Deputy Governor General of Tehran Province Hamidreza Goodarzi said no damage has been reported so far.

“The drill had started on Thursday near this area and continued till Friday noon,” he added.
The same official had already said some foreign media had aggrandized a minor incident or one which had not happened at all and launched a propaganda campaign and “piggybacked” on the incident.

The governor of the town of Pakdasht also said that no incident had happened in Parchin area over the past 24 hours, adding the situation is normal.

“Such propaganda moves are made by foreign media in a bid to stir up public opinion,” the Hadi Tamhidi said.

The Parchin military zone is located in the southeast of Tehran adjacent to Pakdasht town.

Iran’s President Voices Concern over Relative Rise in COVID-19 Infections

US Launched Economic War on Iran Based on Miscalculations: Rouhani

President Hassan Rouhani said the extent to which people comply with health directives has decreased from 82% to 62% over the past week.

“This issue is very alarming,” he said.

He made the comments after a report was released by the National Coronavirus Headquarters suggesting there has been a relative rise in the number of those infected and hospitalized due to coronavirus.

He touched upon the opening of schools and universities, saying either educational centres may hold their classes online or students may physically attend classes depending on the circumstances.

“The top priority is to protect students and university students’ health,” he noted.
He said educational centres opened just recently, and hence, there are no precise statistics about the number of those infected in educational settings.

The president urged the health ministry to monitor the proper implementation of health protocols, saying all school authorities are obliged to enforce health directives.

Iran to Buy COVID-19 Vaccine from India: Health Minister

5 Iranian COVID-19 Vaccines on WHO’s List of Vaccines Candidates

Saeed Namaki said Iran is to purchase 20 million doses of the vaccine from the Indian firm under a forward sale contract.

“This Indian company, which has already sold 100 million doses of the vaccine to the US under a forward sale agreement, has got the US permission to sell 20 percent of its products to other countries as well,” said the minister.

Namaki said the Indian company is owned by a Zoroastrian of Iranian descent.

“Based on what this Indian company has promised us, we are going to receive the vaccine at a lower and more reasonable price,” he said.

Meanwhile, the minister underlined that Iranian research centres keep working to develop a homegrown vaccine for COVID-19.

Iran to Hit Anyone Involved in Gen. Soleimani’s Assassination: IRGC Chief

Iran to Hit Anyone Involved in Gen. Soleimani’s Assassination: IRGC Chief

Major General Hossein Salami said on Saturday, “Our promise to take revenge for the assassination of General Soleimani is final, serious and real.”

“Mr. Trump! Don’t doubt about our [vow to take] revenge because it is final and serious,” said General Salami, the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

Major General Salami then touched upon a report by the American news website Politico which, citing US officials, had accused Iran of plotting to assassinate the US ambassador to South Africa.

“Do you think we will hit a female ambassador in South Africa in revenge for the murder of General Soleimani,” General Salami asked rhetorically.

“We only target those who were directly or indirectly involved in the assassination of top commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani,” said the commander.

“The Americans should know that we will strike anyone who contributed to the cowardly assassination of General Soleimani, and this is a serious message.” he noted.

Addressing US President Donald Trump, General Salami said “If you harm a hair of an Iranian’s head,” the Iranian military will give a crushing response.

Steel as One of the Most Economically Efficient and Ecological Materials

Steel as One of the Most Economically Efficient and Ecological Materials

The enterprise carries out its activities independently, disposes of the manufactured products, the profit received, which remains at its disposal after taxes and other mandatory payments. For instance, metinvest holding is an international steel group that considers the latest sustainability trends in its industrial processes.

Resource efficiency and economic effectiveness

The ultimate goal of any enterprise’s functioning is to satisfy the needs of society and individuals and, as a result, make a profit. This is precisely what the production process is aimed at, which is inextricably linked with the consumption of goods and services and the expenditure of the economic resources available to society.

For the enterprise to work effectively, it is necessary to maximize the use of production capacities, while reducing the downtime and inactivity of equipment and minimizing the lying of material resources. Thus, any enterprise’s main goal is to maximize the result at certain specified costs or minimize costs to achieve a specified result. That is, obtaining the maximum possible profit with the minimum expenditure of resources.

Sustainability and metallurgy

In the modern world, issues related to the sustainability of building materials come to the fore. These issues are also given special attention in terms of innovations. Certificates for stainless steel products always contain information on the compliance of products with technical regulations requirements.

The environmental safety of metals is a rather complex and ambiguous characteristic. It consists of a combination of various indicators:

  • safety of metallurgical production;
  • safety of products when exposed to high temperatures, chemicals;
  • safety in emergency situations (flood, fire, etc.);
  • safety in case of prolonged contact with other materials; with prolonged contact with other materials; disposal safety, etc.

Due to its environmental friendliness (including), stainless steel and special steel grades are actively used in industrial and domestic spheres. It is approved for use in rooms with high sanitary standards (kindergartens and schools). Food stainless steel is especially popular. Excellent performance characteristics of stainless steel rolled metal make it possible to use it in the food and chemical industry, construction, and many other areas.

Stainless steels do not react chemically with various substances during prolonged contact. They are non-toxic and do not emit harmful substances when heated. Besides, the surfaces of stainless steel (if the rolled metal corresponds to the quality certificate) do not have cracks, pores or other defects, where bacteria and other microorganisms harmful to human health and life could penetrate.

Steel properties that guarantee resource effectiveness

It is quite difficult to describe the pros and cons of this material using one classification. In practice, we are dealing with steel products, and from an alloy of various grades, and, therefore, properties. One of the features of this material is that the production method dictates its properties. The quality of a welded pipe cannot be compared to that of a cold-rolled steel pipe.

In general, we can talk about the following advantages of steel:

  • High strength and hardness characteristic of all types;
  • A huge variety of properties due to different compositions and different processing methods;
  • Toughness and elasticity sufficient for use in all areas where resistance to shock, static, and dynamic loads are required in the absence of permanent deformation;
  • Ease of machining welding, cutting, bending;
  • Very high wear resistance in comparison with other construction materials and, accordingly, durability;
  • The prevalence of raw materials and an economically profitable production method determines the affordable cost of alloys.

What are the advantages of steel?

Steel is the right choice if you are looking for cost-effective, environmentally friendly construction, and a better quality of life. This material is preferred by innovative companies, allowing its customers to get the most out of its benefits.

US ‘Terrorists’ Must Leave Region or Face Consequences: IRGC

US ‘Terrorists’ Must Leave Region or Face Consequences

“Definitely, this is our home and it is US terrorists that are present in the wrong place,” said Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, the commander of the Navy of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

“We have never started a war and will never do so,” he noted. “But should a war break out, we are definitely not afraid of it.”

“We always avoid war, but if the enemies want to threaten and encroach upon our national interests in any part of the country, we will firmly stand up to any such move,” he said.

“I’m telling the enemies not to repeat a mistake,” he said.

The top commander also urged Iran’s neighbours to reinforce their unity to stand up to enemies.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the admiral touched upon Iran’s policy with regards to blocking the Strait of Hormuz.

“Strategic decision-makers should decide about blocking the Strait of Hormuz, but the part which is related to the IRGC is that we are ready to execute any order,” he said.
His comments came shortly after a US aircraft carrier, for the first time in ten months, sailed through the Strait of Hormuz and entered into the waters of the Persian Gulf.

The US 5th Fleet said in a statement on Friday that the strike group led by the USS Nimitz and including two guided-missile cruisers and a guided-missile destroyer sailed into the Persian Gulf to operate and train with US partners.

The Nimitz strike group includes the USS Princeton and USS Philippine Sea, both guided-missile cruisers, and the guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett.

That comes as Washington has threatened to illegally extend an expiring arms embargo on Iran.

In a message of congratulations, Iran’s minister of culture and Islamic guidance noted that language is the symbol of unity, solidarity and the reinforcement of the principles of a nation.

“Moreover, safeguarding language will result in national independence and [strengthen the] history of a country,” Seyyed Abbas Salehi said in the message.

“The sweetness of the Persian language and literature has brought our poetry closer to language of art,” it added.

In his message, the minister noted that Persian poetry has, throughout its thousands-year-old history, expressed love, mysticism and monotheism in the most beautiful and permanent manner.

He also said Persian poetry has transcended geographical borders and promoted the Persian language and literature worldwide.
