Ashraf Hall; A Magnificent Work of Architecture in Isfahan

Ashraf Hall; A Magnificent Work of Architecture in Isfahan 6

Ashraf Hall is located in Dolat-khaneh area. It has been part of the magnificent Safavid edifices along with other monuments such as the Indoor Hall, Hasht Behesht Palace, Posht-e-Matbakh Palace, Rakib Khaneh and the Timurid Hall.

The construction of Ashraf Hall was started during the reign of Shah Abbas II, and completed at the time of his successor, Shah Suleiman. The mansion is especially glorious for its artistic decoration, paintings, muqarnas, stucco and proportional ceilings.

Many tourists who visited Isfahan during the Safavid era and later have described the hall as an exquisite, beautiful building.

According to some scholars, Ashraf Hall had been used as a storehouse of fodder at the beginning of the World War II. Then a military unit was stationed there. The building’s beautiful paintings and stucco were covered under a plaster lining at this time.

At the end of the Qajar period, the hall was partly restored and saved from destruction. More repairs were made after that: the paintings were uncovered and restored by prominent masters and artists of Isfahan.

What follows are Mizan News Agency’s photos of Ashraf Hall, one of the most famous buildings in Isfahan, which is known for its golden paintings and elaborate stucco:

IRGC Pounds Terrorists’ Positions across Iran’s Northwestern Border

IRGC Pounds Terrorists' Positions across Iran's Northwestern Border

In a statement released on Saturday, the Hamzeh Seyed al-Shohada Base said the IRGC’s ground forces had targeted the positions of counter-revolutionary outfits and inflicted heavy damage and casualties on them.

“As it has repeatedly been declared, maintaining national security, peace and comfort of the Iranian nation, especially the people living in border provinces, is the red line of the country’s Armed Forces, especially the IRGC’s ground forces,” the statement read, warning that terrorists will be punished for their shameful and criminal acts.

On Friday, three Iranian border guards were killed and two others wounded in clashes with armed counter-revolutionary elements in the Targavar district of West Azarbaijan Province.

The Iranian forces managed to repel the terrorists’ infiltration into the Islamic Republic.

In recent years, Iranian border guards have on many occasions engaged terrorists who attempted to cross the frontier and carry out attacks.

Such confrontations are not rare in West Azarbaijan Province, which borders Iraq and Turkey.

The area has seen occasional fighting between Iranian forces and PJAK terrorists as well as militants linked to the Daesh group.

In July, Iran said terrorists had killed two people and wounded a third person in an attack in Iran’s province of Kurdistan, to the south of West Azarbaijan. In June, Iran attacked bases of PJAK terrorists in northern Iraq.

Biden Must Return to Iran Deal Unconditionally: Qalibaf

Biden Must Return to Iran Deal Unconditionally

Addressing a parliamentary session on Sunday, Qalibaf said practical measures, not “futile rhetoric and claims”, would prove US president-elect Joe Biden’s sincerity as he has pledged to adopt an approach different from the incumbent US president.

Biden’s planned policies have already been carried out, the speaker said, adding that if Biden is really committed to an agreement that he has already signed with Iran as the vice-president of the previous US administration, he must now fulfill the JCPOA commitments unconditionally and make up for the damages to the Iranian people caused by the US’ withdrawal from the deal.

Iran has been under a series of illegal sanctions imposed by Washington since 2018 when US President Donald Trump withdrew his country from the 2015 nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

The US unleashed the so-called maximum pressure campaign and targeted the Iranian nation with the “toughest ever” restrictive measures.

In recent months, Washington has been tightening its oppressive sanctions against the Islamic Republic, defying warnings from Tehran and international human rights organizations that the restrictions are severely hampering the Iranian health sector’s fight against the coronavirus outbreak.

Measures Adopted to Boost Iran’s Medical Infrastructure amid COVID-19 Pandemic

Measures Adopted to Boost Iran’s Medical Infrastructure amid COVID-19 Pandemic

According to the Science and Technology Department of the Presidential Office, the country’s medical infrastructure is associated with the pharmaceutical industry, human vaccines, medical equipment, hygienic and cosmetic products, reconstructive medicine and pharmaceutical probiotics.

Quite a few steps have been taken in this domain, and authorities in the country’s health sector have been able to meet a great part of the needs in this sector with the help of innovative and technological ecosystems. The pharmaceutical industry as well as medical treatment is one of the areas which have been overhauled and experienced major progress thanks to the tireless efforts of domestic scientists.

Accordingly, many medicines have been produced domestically which would have otherwise been imported at high costs. The Science and Technology Department of the Presidential Office is offering special support to such efforts.

As a case in point, the production of eight pharmaceutical accelerators has been supported so far, a move which, in turn, has led to the production of some 100 end products.

The Biotechnology Development Commission of the Science and Technology Department of the Presidential Office is one of the institutions backing the technological ecosystem.

Among the measures adopted by the commission in the domain of medicines is the creation of a green channel to receive permits from the Iranian Food and Drug Organization for knowledge-based companies.
