In the meeting, Zarif touched upon the 160-year-old relations between Tehran and Rome.

He described as positive Iran-Italy cooperation in different areas, particularly in the economic domain as well as collaboration between small and medium-sized enterprises of both countries.

The Iranian top diplomat called for the removal of existing barriers and preparing the ground to enter a new era of cooperation between the two sides, especially on the economic front.

Zarif went on to highlight the dangerous situation in the region caused by Israel’s moves, and condemned Tel Aviv’s acts of violence against Palestinian people.

He also expounded on Tehran’s stance on the situation in Yemen and Afghanistan.

Palestinian Groups Appreciate Iran Leader’s Stance on Cause of Palestine

In the letters, five Palestinian groups once again expressed their gratitude to Iran and the Leader for their support for Palestinian people’s struggles and for refusing to recognise the Israeli regime.

The groups reiterated Tehran’s role as the pivot of unity among, and resistance by Islamic countries.

They also honoured the memory of assassinated Iranian general Qassem Soleimani and his role in keeping the cause of Palestine alive.

In a live televised speech on May 7, 2021, marking International Quds Day, Ayatollah Khamenei touched upon the quantitative and qualitative growth of resistance forces, and noted the balance of power in occupied Palestinian territories was tipped in favour of the world of Islam.

He also underlined that Tel Aviv was in a downward spiral and underscored the need for continued resistance against the Israeli regime.

In their letters, the Palestinian groups said the Leader’s speech came at a time when Palestinian anti-Israeli protests had grown into a mass movement and Israeli settlers were carrying out brutal attacks on the city of Qods.

“Settlers desecrated sanctities and assaulted Qods residents,” read part of one of the letters.

The groups said that Palestinians were also attacked by bullets and tear gas.

“This unflinching support by Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of Islamic Leader, played a major role in boosting the power of [Palestinian] fighters in Gaza, the West Bank and Qods, and in [strengthening them in] the fight agains the Zionist enemy,” said the letters.
They also reiterated Ayatollah Khamenei’s statement that the Israeli regime only understands the language of force.

Iran Arrests CEO of BRG Token, Buyer of Jack Dorsey’s First Tweet

The Centre for Investigation of Organised Cyber Crimes confirmed his arrest in a statement on Monday after days of speculation on the issue on social media.

“Members of the illegal, unbacked, and invalid BRG token have been arrested on charges of disrupting the country’s economic system, on orders from the special prosecutor’s office for economic crimes,” the statement read.

“Countering this network, which began around 9 months ago, on the basis of reports from the public, field observations, and requests from relevant scientific and technical centres and operators, has now entered a new phase after investigations were completed and their fraudulent activities were established for the experts of this centre.”

Token is a type of cryptocurrency that does not require an independent blockchain to operate and is rather created on the basis of other cryptocurrencies’ blockchains. This makes creation of tokens simple.

The BRG project launched by Estavi has been criticised for lacking backing, using false advertising, high concentration in a few wallets and faking fluctuations to drain people’s money, among other things.

Accordingly, Iran Blockchain Community, the Fintech Forum and the Organisation of Computer Guild Union, which are three of the recognized private sector organisations active in the field of blockchain and cryptocurrencies, announced the Crypto Land exchange platform has never been a member of them. They expressed hope that oversight bodies pay attention to warnings of the private sector experts when they should to ensure the health of Iran’s cryptocurrency and blockchain ecosystem.

Eatavi was also known for buying Twitter founder Jack Dorsey’s first-ever tweet for $2.9 million.

US Offering Israel More Accurate Weapons to Kill Children: Zarif

Mohammad Javad Zarif said the munitions supplied by Washington are used to target Palestinian people.

“As US-made ammunition is raining down on defenceless Palestinians, the United States has offered Israel another $735 million to get precision missiles to be able to kill more children with more accuracy,” said the top diplomat in a tweet.

“Meanwhile, the United States blocks the release of the UN Security Council’s mildest statement,” he added.

“The world is just watching the ugly face of Israel and its supporters,” he further said.

Zarif’s reaction comes as the Israeli regime has been pounding the Gaza Strip on end for days now.

There have been fresh airstrikes and shelling from land and sea as the regime’s deadly onslaught on the besieged Palestinian territory enters its second week.

The latest attacks hit residential buildings near the main hospital in the Gaza Strip.

Warplanes also struck a location near the Islamic University in western Gaza.

There has been no immediate report of casualties.

The Israeli offensive has already killed 212 Gazans since it began last Monday.

The dead include 61 children and 36 women.

The indiscriminate bombing has also destroyed 800 buildings in Gaza and damaged 10,000 more structures.

The Iranian president made the comments in a telephone conversation with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi on Monday.

In this phone call, Rouhani welcomed Iraq’s stances in support of Palestine and in condemnation of the crimes committed by Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories and the Gaza Strip.

“We expect Iraq, considering its capacities in the Arab League, to try to make the league more active on the issue of Palestine,” he added.

He also voiced support for Iraq’s participation in regional affairs and welcomed Baghdad’s positive mediatory role in the settlement of conflicts among regional states.

The president further emphasized the necessity of cooperation between Iran and Iraq in the fight against Takfiri terrorist groups which he said seek to harm the good relations between the two neighbors.

Rouhani also denounced the US’ double standard in the war on terrorism and deplored its vague performance along the common border of Iraq and Syria. “The Americans have always had a destructive role in the region, and their presence in Iraq would not provide any help for stability and security of the country.”

The Iraqi premier, for his part, strongly condemned the Israeli regime’s massacre of defenseless Palestinians in Gaza and stressed the need for serious and decisive action against the Zionist crimes.

Al-Kadhimi pledged that Iraq will definitely adopt firm stances on the recent developments in Palestine in consultations with Muslim leaders and the Arab League members.
