Minister: Iran to make 300 million dollars per annum by producing ethane

Iran's South Pars Gas Field

Iran’s oil minister says extracting ethane from 9 refineries of South Pars gas complex in the Persian Gulf, will make an annual income of 250-300 million dollars for the country.

Javad Owji was speaking during the signing ceremony of an MoU to increase the production of ethane gas in 9 refineries of the South Pars gas complex.

He said the project will be put into operation in the next two months.

Owji also said over 700 million cubic meters of gas are extracted from the South Pars field every day, adding that after the phase 11 development plan of the field becomes operational, the output will further increase.

According to the Iranian oil minister, currently 66% of ethane produced in South Pars refineries is extracted and the rest is injected into the national pipeline and consumed.

Expert: Europeans cannot reverse resolution that ended anti-Iran missile sanctions

Iran Missile

Hassan Beheshtipour told Entekhab news outlet the reason why the Europeans insist on pushing for preventing the expiration of the sanctions in October is the Ukraine war in which, they claim, Iran is involved by giving Russia combat drones.

Beheshtipour added that the only thing the European side can do is avoiding the implementation of the resolution.

He referred to efforts by the European Union to end the Ukraine war. Beheshtipour said the world will not be what it was before the war, adding that the cessation of the hostilities in Ukraine will also affect Iran.

The Iranian expert noted that the impact on Iran by the stoppage of the war will be positive because the end of the war will end the adverse effect of the claims over drones.

Beheshtipour also said peace will be good and will be in tاe interest of the whole world anyway. But he rejected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s peace initiative, saying it would be treated by Russia as a non-starter as it calls on the Kremlin to withdraw from four regions including Crimea, which he described as highly unlikely.

Sassanid statue back in Iran after 35 years

Sassanid statue back in Iran after 35 years

This came three months after the discovery in Britain of the relief known as the Sassanid Soldier. The ancient relic was brought back to Iran on June 28, 2023 and it’s going to be put on display at the Iran National Museum.

Story of Sassanid relief’s departure from Iran

This monument which dates back to the Sassanid era was taken to the United Arab Emirates in 1988 and left the country in 2006.

The relief was however seized in Britain in 2016. The exact date of its departure from Iran is unknown. But considering the time of its arrival in the UAE, that is, in 1988, it is most likely that this work was illegally smuggled out of the country during the Iraqi imposed war in 1980-88.

British newspaper’s report on discovery of Sassanid relief

British daily The Observer on April 2, 2023 said in a report that the relief had been discovered and confiscated at Stansted Airport near London. The report also said the statue would be returned to Iran after putting on display at the British Museum.

It was carved almost 2,000 years ago and is such an important sculpture that if it appeared on the art market today, it could fetch more than £30m. But this is a previously unrecorded antiquity that can never be sold.

For the large fragment of a Sasanian rock relief – which depicts an imposing male figure carved in the 3rd century AD – has been freshly gouged from a cliff in Iran with an angle grinder. It was heading for the black market in Britain when it was seized at Stansted Airport.

Border Force officers became suspicious when they saw its haphazard packaging, perhaps intended to suggest that it was a worthless item.

The antiquity, which is over one meter in height, was hacked out of living rock or rock that has been carved in situ. St. John Simpson, a senior curator and archaeologist in the British Museum’s department of the Middle East, said: “We almost never come across a case of something being cut out of the “living rock”. He has identified it as a unique rock relief sculpture dating to the period of the Sasanian empire, AD224-651.

Other features of the Sassanid statue

Meanwhile, Mostafa Deh Pahlvan, Director of the Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, said after the arrival of this relief in Tehran that more comparative, instrumental and laboratory investigations should be done about the monument, but preliminary studies show that it probably belongs to a nobleman of the Sassanid era.

According to Deh Pahlevan, the type of clothes and placement of the index finger (some kind of tribute) show that this statue is probably one of the great and high-ranking people of the Sassanid era. Before putting it on display in Iran, he added, this work of art should be studied carefully at a scientific session with Sassanid era culture and civilization researchers in attendance.

He noted that fortunately, this relief has returned to Iran, saying undoubtedly, more research will be done about it and its transfer to the national museum will become a new tourist attraction in Iran.

Iran warns France of “reprecussions” for hosting terror group meeting

France Protests

Nasser Kanaani strongly condemned the French government act to host the terror group’s gathering.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed that French government officials opt for providing the ground for the gathering of terrorists, after their recent scandal in Albania that reverberated across the world.

He was referring to the recent raid of the Albanian police on the Camp Ashraf in Albania where the terror group is based.

Nasser Kanaani said France playing host to a gathering of the MKO terrorist cult at the same time with the political and social discontent and nationwide popular protests in the European country is “a result of the French government’s lack of attention to the demands of its own citizens and continuation of political support for terrorist groupings.”

The Foreign Ministry spokesman warned of the political and legal repercussions of the continuation of the approach of the French government to support and host terrorists and murderers of Iranian citizens and officials.

More than 17,000 Iranians, including government officials, have fallen victim to the MKO terrorist acts.

The MKO sided with the regime of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein during the 1980-88 war, involving in the killing of Iranians.

“Terrorists, who have betrayed their own country and people by committing horrible and shocking crimes, will definitely not spare their foreign sponsors of such betrayal. From this viewpoint, supporters of terrorists not only will not benefit from them, but also they will ultimately suffer the backlash from their own measures”, said Kanaani.

Kanaani also advised French government officials to attend to the demands of their own people rather than supporting terrorist groupings to spark terror and riots in other countries.

Iranian intelligence ministry thanks Albania for action against MKO

MKO Albania

The ministry said the move by the Albanian police was worthy of gratitude.
The Intelligence Ministry’s statement said that in the days leading up to the raid by the Albanian police on their camp, the “murderous group” did all it could to pull off a terrorist operation in Iran but this attempt was foiled thanks to vigilance and pre-emptive measures by Iranian officials.

The statement further listed a series of actions by the Intelligence Ministry that thwarted attempted acts of terrorism by the MKO including the making of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) and the use of the bombs against state organizations and public places in the capital Tehran and other parts of the country.

The ministry said a number of the MKO’s members were arrested during the operations.

The statement then warned about the MKO terrorist activities in Western countries, noting that Iran will continue to go after terrorists outside its borders.

The Intelligence Ministry praised the Albanian government’s move against the MKO as a step forward but cautioned that some supporters of the group in Europe and the US are trying to revive this terrorist cult under the supervision of the Zionists.

Albania has been hosting the MKO after the terrorist group was expelled from Iraq a few years ago.

Albanian police raided the MKO camp on June 20, clashing with members of the terrorist outlet. At least two terrorists were killed and three dozen others injured.

Albania’s police entered the MKO’s camp once again on Thursday. Police forces were reportedly stationed at the entrance of the Ashraf 3 camp and controlled all vehicles leaving the camp.

More than 17,000 people have been killed by the MKO over the past four decades.
