Iran president visits survivors of Kerman terror incident 

President Ebrahim Raisi traveled to Kerman on Friday to take part in a funeral held for victims of the tragedy.

At least 89 people were killed and hundreds more were injured in the twin blasts, claimed by the Daesh terror group.

“The plan to block the border is a comprehensive plan which has different dimensions,” said Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi.

“It is not only a wall. Different measures will be adopted to seal off the border,” he added.

The minister noted the project will be managed and implemented by the Armed Forces.

“The plan to seal off the border takes time. So, porous stretches of the border which are being abused take priority,” he said.

His comments come as many illegal immigrants and sometimes terrorists have slipped into Iran from Afghanistan and Pakistan, jeopardizing national security.

On Wednesday two bomb blasts ripped through the southeastern Iranian city of Kerman, killing 89 people and injuring hundreds more.

Hossein Amirabdollahian made the plea in a phone conversation with his Syrian counterpart, Faisal Mekdad on Thursday.

His comments follow the Wednesday terror incident in the southern Iranian city of Kerman that saw the killing of at least 84 people and the injury of around 300 more.

Daesh terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the terrorist blasts.

Faisal Mekdad, the Foreign Minister of the Syrian Arab Republic, also strongly condemned Wednesday’s terrorist incident in Kerman.

Mekdad also  expressed sympathy for the families of the dead.

Additionally, Mekdad conveyed Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s condolences to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Also in a phone call with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amirabdollahian, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan conveyed Turkey’s government and people’s condolences and solidarity to the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran following Wednesday’s terrorist attack in Kerman.

Meanwhile, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced that in homage to the martyrs of the terrorist attack in Kerman and in order to express solidarity with the noble families affected by this tragedy, the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran was raised to half-mast across all embassies, consulates general, and international missions worldwide on Thursday.

Al Thani added that Qatar is assured about Iran’s national unity and stands united with the Islamic Republic.

He emphasized that Iran and Qatar must boost cooperation and hold deeper consultations with the regional and Muslim countries to stop the Israeli regime’s crimes against the oppressed people of Gaza.

Saberi further explained that the death toll currently stands at 84, as confirmed by the country’s Legal Medicine Organization.

Erdogan, for his part, offered his sympathy and condolences to his Iranian counterpart over the heinous terrorist attack in Kerman.

He added the attack once again clearly highlighted the need to fight decisively against all forms of terrorism.

He once again reaffirmed Turkey’s readiness to cooperate with Iran in the battle against all forms of terrorism.
