Iran acting FM meets with Syrian pres., talks Gaza 

During the meeting, Assad emphasized the importance of resistance against occupiers as a fundamental principle and strategic option.

He also condemned the Zionist regime’s intensified attacks on the Palestinian people in response to resistance.

The Iranian acting foreign minister, for his part, affirmed that Iran-Syria relations will remain deep and strategic, adding that the ties are based on strong principles and sincere common interests.

At the end of his day-long visit to Beirut, Bagheri arrived in Damascus on Tuesday.

Iranians hold farewell ceremony for IRGC cmdr. martyred in Syria 

Saeed Abyar was killed on Sunday night in an airstrike by the Israeli regime’s warplanes around the city of Aleppo in northern Syria.

Iran: IAEA assessments based on unreliable Israeli information 

The Iranian delegation emphasized that the origins of these allegations within the IAEA stem from the Zionist regime.

Additionally, they highlighted that the appointment of 120 IAEA inspectors for Iran clearly demonstrates Tehran’s willingness to enable the Agency to perform its duties effectively, utilizing a diverse pool of experienced inspectors.

They reiterated that nuclear weapons have never had a place in Iran’s defense doctrine, thus there is no basis for interpreting public statements otherwise.

In a note addressing the IAEA Director General’s report, the Iranian representationhighlighted that continuous political pressures from certain countries have reached a point where even technically resolved issues are subsequently altered in IAEA reports, contrary to previously agreed upon conclusions.

They clarified that there are no undisclosed sites that need to be declared under the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement (CSA).

Furthermore, according to the agreement, Iran corrected relevant audit records, and the IAEA reciprocally provided amended statements for the IRK and IRL facilities.

The developments came after a group of European countries consisting of Germany, France and the UK tabled a draft resolution with the IAEA against the Islamic Republic’s nuclear activities, which Tehran says are for scientific and peaceful purposes.

Iran continues to stress its compliance and transparency in its nuclear activities, urging the IAEA to resist external political influences in its assessments and reports.

Iran says to keep supporting resistance against Israel 

Ali Bagheri, in a joint press conference with the Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad in Damascus on Tuesday, said he carries a message that Iran stands by the resistance against the Zionist occupation as before and even more firmly than in the past.

The acting Iranian foreign minister further said both Tehran and Damascus believe that the Israeli occupation is the root cause of the regional instability.

Bagheri praised Iran and Syria as the two “main pillars of stability in region”, adding during his visit to Damascus he is seeking a “joint strategy” to stop the Israeli aggression against Palestinians. He said Iran and Syria are two companions, two colleagues and two close friends on the path of developing bilateral cooperation.

Mekdad, for his part, praised the Iran-Syria bilateral ties and underlined the need to further boost the relations. The top Syrian diplomat said stopping the Israeli regime’s crimes and the realization of the Palestine’s aspirations is our historical position.

Nuclear chief: Iran rolling back commitments to JCPOA atomic deal

Eslami told reporters in Iran’s central city of Shahr-e Kord on Tuesday, “Based on Article 36 of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), in the event the parties to the nuclear deal do not fulfill their obligations, Iran has the legitimate right to respond in kind and reduce its obligations and currently we are at the stage of reducing these obligations.”

Iran’s nuclear chief said the US, under former president Donald Trump, unilaterally withdrew from the deal in 2018, but the other parties in Europe have also shown lack of commitment ever since.

Elsami said the AEOI complies with the Strategic Action Law ratified by the Iranian parliament for lifting of the sanctions and safeguarding national interests regarding the landmark nuclear deal struck with the West in 2015.

The law was approved by Iranian parliamentarians in 2020 to counter sanctions imposed on Iran and advance the country’s peaceful nuclear program.

Iran also abides by the nuclear non-proliferation treaty (NPT) and the Safeguards Agreement, Eslami further clarified, adding the issue has been certified in several reports by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The two sides discussed the ongoing Israeli atrocities against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and its spillover in Lebanon, and reviewed the solutions to stop the crimes committed by the occupying regime.

The Hezbollah secretary general extended his gratitude to the Iranian Leader, government and nation for standing by the nations in the region and resistance movements.

He also renewed his condolences over the demise of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian who died in a helicopter crash on May 19.

Acting Iranian FM meets with Hezbollah chief, Palestinian resistance leaders

The Iranian foreign minister arrived in Syria from Lebanon later on Tuesday to pursue his regional tour.

Bagheri met with the leaders of the Palestinian resistance movements in the Syrian capital and held talks with them.

Before embarking on the tour, Bagheri had announced that increasing synergy between resistance groups in the region to confront the Israeli regime is one of the main goals of his regional trip.

Funeral ceremony held for Iranian military advisor in Syria

The mourners carried the casket of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) officer, Saeed Abyar, in the shrine of Hazrat Roghayeh, the daughter of the third Shia Imam, Hussein ibn Ali.

An unknown number of people were also killed in the Israeli raid, according to Syrian state media.

Iranian military advisors are invited by the Syrian government to help Damascus fight the remnants of militant groups and their sleeper cells.

Israel occasionally targets Iranian and Syrian forces inside Syria to reverse the gains achieved in their fight against foreign-backed militants.

An Israeli attack on April 1 demolished Iran’s diplomatic compound in Damascus, where two senior IRGC generals and five other officers were killed.

The deadly raid led to a massive retaliatory missile and drone attack by Iran against Israel on April 13.

Fire in Karkheh National Park in southern Iran raging again 

Firefighters were on the scene on Tuesday to put out the fire.

The bushfire happened days firefighters and park rangers contained the flames in the national park in after an hours-long struggle on Thursday.

Drought, human factors, burning of wheat fields by farmers are the main causes of fire in the Karkheh forests.

The Karkheh National Park is the main habitat of the Persian yellow deer.

Iran’s acting FM arrives in Syria from Lebanon

Bagheri is scheduled to meet with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Foreign Minister Faisal al-Mekdad during his stay in Syria.

The Iranian foreign minister embarked on his regional tour on Monday with Lebanon as his first destination.

He held talks with high-ranking Lebanese officials, including the country’s prime minister, foreign minister, speaker of the parliament and officials with the axis of resistance.

Iran Interior Minister: 80 people registered to run for president

Iran’s Interior Minister announced the end of the registration period for the candidates, adding 80 hopefuls have registered.

Ahamd Vahidi told reporters on Monday evening that during the five-day registration period, individuals who met the initial four criteria regarding age, educational qualifications, executive experience, and a certificate of no criminal record, registered to run for the election.

The Interior Minister said the finally approved candidates, to be qualified by the Guardian Council, will campaign for 15 days before the election on June 28.

According to the head of the Election Headquarters, the names of the approved candidates will be announced on June 11.

The election has been scheduled for June 28 through which voters will choose the next president of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Many former and current officials have registered to run for the vote including former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and former parliament speaker Ali Larijani.

On the last day of candidate registration, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, the current Parliament Speaker, and Es’haq Jahangiri, the former First Vice President, were among those who registered.
