Larijani: Certain Countries Seeking To Sabotage Nuclear Deal

Parliament

He made the remarks while addressing the Sunday June 12 session of the Majlis [Parliament] after legislators listened to Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who briefed them on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and its outcomes.

He urged the Parliament, the government and other relevant bodies to vigilantly monitor all developments.

The speaker further hailed the efforts of the Iranian team in striking a nuclear deal after lengthy negotiations and said they had endeavoured to safeguard the rights of the Iranian nation.

However, he said, the Iranian Foreign Ministry had to remain vigilant towards excessive US demands as signs indicate that America, as well as some other countries, is seeking to pressure Iran again, this time through channels besides the nuclear issue.

Larijani also voiced Parliament’s support for Zarif’s policy, which is to enhance economic relations with the world.

Mehdi Yousefi has said that the volume of the gas flared in phases 1 through 10 of PSEEZ has dropped from 56 mcm/week in 2008 to 4.5mcm/week in the first three months of the current calendar year, which began on March 20.

He also said that the zone has employed 37,000 personnel from the local population in Assalouyeh, southern Iran, in the past two years.

Yousefi also said that boosting the regional greenery is another concern for PSEEZ to preserve the environment, and various plans are underway in this regard.

A gas flare, alternatively known as a flare stack, is a gas combustion device used in industrial plants such as petroleum refineries, chemical plants, natural gas processing plants as well as at oil or gas production sites having oil wells, gas wells, offshore oil and gas rigs and landfills.

Zarif: JCPOA Won’t End Western Hostility

Zarif-01

Zarif attended an open session of the newly-elected parliament on Sunday morning, June 12, for the first time to brief MPs on the process of implementing the deal – known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) – and answer the lawmakers’ questions about the impact of the JCPOA on the country’s economy.

With the nuclear agreement, Iran managed to remove the economic obstacles imposed on people under the pretext of the country’s nuclear program, he noted.

“We managed to counter Western parties’ threats, which had created a negative atmosphere against the Islamic Republic,” the top diplomat said, highlighting the new atmosphere created after the implantation of the JCPOA and removal of anti-Iran sanctions.

“However, this does not mean the end of hostility by those who regarded the Islamic Republic as an obstacle to attainment of their goals,” he added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Zarif pointed to the large number of foreign delegations visiting Iran after the nuclear deal, describing it as an indication that the world sees Iran as a safe place for cooperation.

Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14, 2015, reached a conclusion over the text of the JCPOA. The accord took effect in January, terminating all nuclear-related sanctions against Iran.

According to a law that requires the Iranian administration to safeguard the nation’s achievements and nuclear rights, the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission has a duty to monitor “the proper implementation” of the JCPOA, and is required to submit a report on the issue to the presiding board of the parliament every six months.

According to a report by ISNA, as translated by IFP, the antiquities recovered in Tehran’s Sadeghieh metro station were later handed over to the Tehran Province Department of Cultural Heritage.

All relics have great historical value, and experts are currently analyzing them to determine the exact civilizations they belonged to, he went on to say. It is very likely that the relics are of Iraqi origin, as some of them belong to the Mesopotamian civilization.

Hong Kong Eyes Closer Maritime Cooperation with Tehran

Hong Kong

“A lot of people have been dealing with Iran through third parties,” said Stephen Wong of the HKTDC. “Now that sanctions are taken away, Hong Kong will benefit … I’m sure that the trade will grow.”

He further said that freight activity with Iran was expected to include multiple areas such as food products and consumer goods.

Hong Kong, one of the world’s biggest container ports, expects to benefit from China’s new Silk Road initiative aimed at developing trade and transport links across Asia and beyond.

In 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping introduced the new “Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Maritime Silk Road” initiative to connect stronger logistics networks with Asia, Africa and Europe by building more roads, railways and airports.

Salim Harba

Speaking to Tasnim, Salim Harba said the recent meeting between Iranian Defence Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan and his Russian and Syrian counterparts, Sergey Kuzhugetovich Shoygu and Fahd Jassem al-Freij, was a serious negotiation, which indicated the “strategic stability” of the three allies at military levels.

“Secondly, the meeting demonstrated the insistence of Russia, Iran and Syria on continuing to fight against terrorism and preparing the grounds for the political process,” he noted.

The Syrian analyst further emphasized that the talks in Tehran will lead to new tactics and coordination among the three countries’ forces at all levels in coming days.

Iran and Russia, known as the main allies of Syria, have been looking for a solution to a crisis that has plagued the Arab country for more than five years.

Syria has been gripped by civil war since March 2011 with Takfiri terrorists, including Daesh (ISIS/ISIL), currently controlling parts of it, mostly in the east.

The terrorist group claims as an independent state the territory of Iraq and Syria, with implied future claims intended over more of the Levant, including Lebanon, occupied Palestine, Jordan, Cyprus, and Southern Turkey.

According to a new report by the Syrian Center for Policy Research, the conflict has claimed the lives of over 470,000 people, injured 1.9 million others, and displaced nearly half of the country’s pre-war population of about 23 million within or beyond its borders.
