Torture Devices and Ammo Discovered at Terrorists’ Bases in East Aleppo (+Video)

A military operation against terrorists in Aleppo, once Syria’s second-largest city with booming industries and now the worst-hit place in the country, cornered the militants into a small 2.5-km sliver of land.

Footage from the scene suggests that in eastern Aleppo, civilians were apparently subjected to torture and abuse, Russia Today reported on Friday.

Syrian Army soldiers showed cells and large chains that appear to be torture devices inside a building allegedly used as a firebase by militants in the Al-Jazmati district.

“This is one of the means of torture that was used by the militants. When we came here and liberated this residential block, civilians were sitting here in the prisons. We released them,” said Muhammad Hamud, a Syrian Army soldier, pointing at chains hanging from the ceiling.

He added that the army liberated around 15 captives in that location, afterwards showing black flags purportedly belonging to ISIS and Jabhat Fateh al-Sham (formerly known as Al-Nusra Front).

A sizeable stockpile of mortar rounds as well as a large machine used to manufacture ammunition, are also seen in the building – a sign of the militants’ capacity to produce sophisticated weaponry right on the frontline, RT reported.

The mortar shells and ammunition production technology may originate from ISIS-controlled territories in either Syria or Iraq.

Emirati Commander Blames Turkish President for Aleppo Defeat

Khalfan

According to a Farsi report by Al Alam, Khalfan said in a post on his Twitter account that Erdogan is to blame for entrapment of Syrian ‘revolutionaries’ in Aleppo and their embarrassing defeat.

“It was Erdogan who encouraged and provoked Syrian revolutionaries to fight [President] Bashar al-Assad, but now Ankara is standing by Assad and Russia, taking stances against the revolutionaries,” he noted.

His comments came as the Syrian army has almost completed a military operation to liberate Aleppo, with the remaining militants withdrawing from their strongholds.

Hundreds of foreign-backed militants or so-called rebels have surrendered in Aleppo in recent days.

Iran, Russia to Establish Joint Islamic Bank

Russia-Iran

The announcement was made by Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak who visited Tehran earlier this week for talks on expansion of mutual cooperation in a variety of areas.

“The creation of a Russian-Iranian Islamic bank was discussed. Our banks are exploring the mechanism, the related decision has not been made yet,” Novak was quoted by the media as saying at a bilateral meeting held in Tehran.

No timeframe or potential size was given for the proposed bank, which would be the first such institution operating in the two countries, Reuters wrote in a report on the move.

State-linked Russian lenders Vnesheconombank, Sberbank and Tatfondbank have been developing Islamic financial products of their own over the past year, it added.

Iran is keen to diversify funding options for its companies.

At present, most financing in Iran is sourced from domestic lenders with only a small portion sourced from foreign sources and the debt capital markets.

Other reports by Iran’s domestic media emphasized that Tehran and Moscow were moving close to a scheme to ditch the dollar and trade in their own local currencies.

Iran’s Persian-language newspaper Aftab-e Yazd quoted Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Public Communications Department of the Russian Central Bank Andrey Melnikov as saying that Iran and Russia were preparing for on trade in national currencies at the Moscow Exchange.

“There are issues requiring further consideration. There is no doubt [that] it is positive that [Russian and Iranian] central banks are reviewing them. This and the present project on currency pair trading of the [Russian] ruble and [Iranian] rial will significantly increase the [volumes of] using the national currencies for mutual settlement in case there is demand for these currencies,” Melnikov was quoted as saying in a report that was also carried by Sputnik news agencies.

Killing Innocent People Has Nothing to Do with Prophet Muhammad’s Teachings: Iran’s President

rohani

According to a report by IFP, speaking at the 30th edition of International Muslim Unity Conference held on Thursday in Tehran, President Rouhani said the bloodshed in Middle East has nothing to do with the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who was ‘the most influential man in the history of mankind.’

Here are highlights of his remarks:

– Muhammad (PBUH), the Prophet of Islam, was the most influential man in the history of mankind.

– Prophet Muhammad was the messenger of ethics and taught Muslims to respect all divine religions. He recommended Muslims to be united and have a peaceful coexistence with followers of other religions.

– Islam is a religion that complemented its predecessors. It has ordered us to join hands with all divine religions.

– Shiites and Sunnis have maintained their independence throughout the history by staying united against colonialism and division.

– Shiite and Sunni Muslims are brothers in faith and following of the Qur’an and the traditions of the great prophet of Islam.

– Shiite crescent or Sunni triangle, both are wrong. It is not Shiite or Sunni which are squared up against each other. It is rather the American Islam standing against the genuine Muhammadan Islam.

– It is not possible to kill innocent people and claim to be following the prophet of Islam.

– The big plot now is to attract the minds of young Muslims to deviant schools of thought.

– We will see one day that all Muslim countries will unite against the Zionist regime of Israel.

– Israel and regional murderers aim to frustrate Muslims, but they will soon be disappointed themselves.

The 30th edition of Islamic Unity Conference was kicked off on Thursday by President Rouhani in Tehran with religious thinkers and elites from more than 50 countries across the world attending the three-day event.

Rouhani

According to a report by IFP, President Hassan Rouhani said in an address to ‘Muslim Unity Conference’ in Tehran that “those who trained terrorists and purchased the oil the terrorists had stolen, and those who sold the cultural heritage of devastated museums in the West are responsible for the recent crimes.”

“If major world powers think they can stabilize their interests in the region by helping the terrorists, they are wrong. […] Western powers and then their regional allies are the ones to blame for destruction of Aleppo and Mosul and beheading of Muslim youths,” he added.
