IRGC Chief-Commander Rejects Trump’s ‘Baseless’ Claim

IRGC Chief-Commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari on Sunday rejected Donald Trump’s claim that Iran was behind the missile attack on Riyadh, saying the claim is baseless.

“It is basically not possible for the Islamic Republic to transfer missile to Yemen. These missiles are made by Yemenis and their military industries,” General Jafari noted, speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a funeral ceremony held in Tehran for General Qassem Soleimani’s father.

Iranian Defence Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami also rejected the allegations and said that the enemies use every opportunity to make accusations against Iran.

“The US blames Iran for every single development in the Middle East,” he told reporters during the same ceremony, saying such claims are not unlikely of the enemies.

“Does anyone ask the US what it is supplying Saudi Arabia with,” he asked.

Saudi Arabia says it has intercepted a ballistic missile fired over capital Riyadh by‌ Houthi fighters from Yemen, an attack Trump immediately blamed on Iran.

The missile was brought down near King Khaled International Airport on the northern outskirts of the city and did not cause any casualties, state-owned Al Ekhbariya TV reported.

Yemen’s Houthi rebels fired the missile across Saudi Arabia’s southern border, according to several Houthi-owned media outlets, including Al-Masirah and SABA.

It is the first time a Houthi missile has come so close to a heavily populated area and appears to be the farthest such a missile has reached inside Saudi Arabia. Riyadh is around 620 miles (1,000km) north of the border with Yemen.

Responding to the attack, Trump immediately blamed Iran.

“A shot was just taken by Iran, in my opinion, at Saudi Arabia. And our system knocked it down,” the US President said, referring to the Patriot missile batteries Saudi Arabia has purchased from the US.

“That’s how good we are. Nobody makes what we make and now we’re selling it all over the world.”

Iran to Pull Out of NPT If Sanction Reinstated: MP

In a recent address to the Iranian parliament, Mojtaba Zonnouri read out the third report by the Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission on the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and said the world witnessed that Tehran gave up its rights under the NPT to sit for talks with world powers to resolve the existing problems over its nuclear programs.

“Today, we see that the US is making mischief by depriving Iran of its legal rights under the JCPOA and imposing new sanctions on our country,” the representative of Qom was quoted as saying in a Farsi report by ICANA.

Zonnouri went on saying that Iranian parliament has found at least 26 cases of JCPOA violation by the US including extending the D’Amato Law (the Iran Sanctions Act) and imposing sanctions on Iran’s defence capabilities.

The US must know that the Iranian lawmakers will not remain silent towards its aggression, he noted.

“To this end, we have drafted two plans to cope with the US violations: First, we will call for a revision in our cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency and second, we will withdraw from the NPT.”

He also said Iran will also pull out of the JCPOA if its interests are not met by the treaty; however, he added, our retreat doesn’t mean that we will get back to the first square.

Zonnouri noted the US officials should know the fact that Iranian lawmakers are ready to oblige the government to get out of the NPT if they don’t stick to their commitments.

He said Iran is legally entitled to leave the NPT and the Additional Protocol and limit IAEA’s access to its nuclear sites.

“We will not allow the foreigners to take advantage of our nations’ nobility. So, pulling out of the NPT is among our options,” he concluded.

Saudi Princes, Ministers Detained in Five-Star Hotel: Report

In its Sunday report, the HuffPost Arabi said the hotel which used to host US President Donald Trump and his family as well as many other foreign guests has given leave to its staff as of 11 am, November 4. This has sparked allegations that the hotel has turned into a safe house for interrogating the nabbed princes and ministers.

The HuffPost Arabi also referred to a report published by the New York Times on the closure of airports for private planes, arousing speculations that the government was seeking to block rich businessmen from fleeing before making the arrests.

The report further noted that in the website of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, there is a notice saying all the rooms have been reserved, leading the visitors to the website of other hotels.

Saudi Arabia announced the arrest of the leading billionaire investor Prince Alwaleed bin Talal as well as at least 10 other princes, four ministers and tens of former ministers. The arrests were made by Saudi Arabia’s Anti-Corruption Committee.

The committee, headed by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, was formed by royal decree earlier in the day.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has dismissed several senior ministers, including those in charge of the kingdom’s National Guard, and economy and planning.

Iran Sympathizes with Syria over Deir ez-Zor Terror Attack

In a Sunday statement, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi condoled with the Syrian nation and government and the families of those killed and wounded in the ISIS car bombing in a refugee camp in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor.

“Such inhumane and brutal acts by the ISIS terrorist group are clear indication of the group’s frustration and defeat,” Qassemi said, adding that the end of ISIS is near thanks to the resistance and unity of the Syrian nation and government.

Dozens of refugees were killed and scores injured by a car bomb in the suburbs of Deir ez-Zor on Saturday, Syria’s state news agency SANA reported.
The bombing targeted the largest refugee gathering in the region, Sana reported. The blast occurred in the outskirts of the city, in the area near Conoco and al-Jafra gas fields.
The agency said that “large numbers of children and women” fell victim to the explosion, citing its own correspondent at the scene.
The assailant reportedly rammed the car, rigged with explosives, into the crowd before it blew up.

Gov’t to Continue Supporting Iranian Armed Forces: Rouhani

Gov't to Continue Supporting Iranian Armed Forces

“The [Iranian] government and nation have confidence in the Army as faithful and self-sacrificing armed forces and the government will continue its support for the Armed Forces,” Rouhani said in a meeting with high-ranking Army commanders on Saturday.

He added that the Armed Forces should also stand by the administration in any sector deemed necessary and help the executive branch of the government run the country’s affairs.

The Iranian chief executive described public trust and affiliation with no particular political party as the “biggest assets” of the country’s Army.

Rouhani commended the Armed Forces’ performance after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, particularly during the eight-year Iraqi war on Iran in the 1980s.

US President Donald Trump delivered an anti-Iran speech on October 13, in which he said he would not continue to certify Iran’s compliance with the terms of the multilateral nuclear deal, reached under his predecessor Barack Obama, and warned that he might ultimately terminate the agreement.

Trump also announced sanctions on Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), which he accused of destabilizing the Middle East and threatening American interests in the region.

Senior Iranian officials slammed Washington’s move against the IRGC, with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif saying Iranian people from all walks of life strongly supported the defenders of the country and the region against terrorism.

The IRGC is a branch of the Iranian Armed Forces, a standing army of a United Nations member state. It has been effectively providing military advisory support for the elected governments of Iraq and Syria in their battles against various groups of extremist militants.

Some of those militant groups are widely reported to be receiving logistical, financial, and other forms of support from the US government, particularly in Syria, where Washington has attempted but failed to have the Syrian government toppled.

US Not Aware of IRGC Naval Forces’ High Potential: Commander

Iran Warns US, Allies against Adventurism, Provocative Moves in Region

The IRGC Navy has a great potential in the Persian Gulf, General Fadavi said, adding that the IRGC’s naval forces have been involved in activities to promote the security of the Persian Gulf, and are now at the highest level of readiness.

According to a Farsi report by Tasnim, he noted that at the moment the IRGC is demonstrating capabilities that it has never developed before.

“In the situation that has existed for the IRGC navy against the Great Satan (the US) in the Persian Gulf, we have never been as powerful as today,” he noted, reiterating the great potentialities of his forces.

Fadavi also talked about the extensive damage suffered by the US against the IRGC naval forces in the Persian Gulf, saying that “in 1987 and 1988 the Americans suffered many defeats against the IRGC and the Muslim warriors in the Persian Gulf that has been unprecedented in the history of the United States.”

He went on to say that the US military power is mainly based on its navy, warning that “the Americans need to look at the power of the IRGC navy (carefully), since if they face our navy in the future, the situation will not be like 1987 and 1988. This time they will see a more powerful navy than before.”

Iran Taking Long Steps towards Agricultural Mechanization

In a Farsi interview with Mehr New Agency, Kambiz Hosseini said Iran has invested hugely in agricultural mechanization, and the traditional gap between Iran and the developed countries in agricultural mechanization is being bridged further day by day.

“Today, about 70 percent and 95 percent of cereals are cultivated and harvested mechanically, respectively,” he said, adding that about 80 percent of the country’s rice is cultivated and harvested mechanically.

Hosseini also said the agricultural industry of Iran has 440,000 units of tractor, 35,000 units of seed processing machinery, over 16,000 units of combine harvester and tens of other agricultural machineries.

“Penetration of mechanization has dramatically increased in Iran’s agriculture over the past years,” he stressed.

One of the main reasons behind Iran’s recent success in wheat production is that the Iranian farmers use agricultural machinery, he added.

“Japan’s mechanization penetration in the agricultural field stands at 14 hp/h followed by European states with 6 hp/h and the US with 2.5 hp/h and Australia with 3 hp/h,” he said.

However, he noted, this does not mean that the agricultural production of the countries with higher mechanization penetration is higher than the US and Australia.

Hosseini added about 95 percent of the mechanization process of Iran’s agricultural field is being carried out by the local companies and only five percent of the agricultural machinery are imported from abroad.

11 Saudi Princes, Including Bin Talal, Arrested for Corruption

The Al-Arabiya news channel quoted unnamed sources as saying that well-known billionaire investor Prince Alwaleed bin Talal was among those who have been detained in connection with newly-opened corruption probes.

Bin Talal is a prominent investor in US companies including Twitter.

Adel Faqih, the current economy and planning minister, is also among those arrested. He is known as the mastermind of the Vision 2030 plan widely advertised by the ruling officials.

The arrests were made based on a decision by Saudi Arabia’s anti-corruption committee, which was recently established by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was later appointed by the King as the head of the anti-corruption committee.

According to Al-Sura, some of the arrest warrants have been issued for the following people:
