Iranian Skier Declares Her Fault, Leaves Tournament

Despite being forced to leave the tournament, Kalhor has been commended by the media and the referees and athletes who had taken part in the contest.

What follows is Khabar Online’s interview with her:

Please tell us first about the decision you made. Why did you make that decision?

Let me first give you an explanation about the rules of the race. According to the International Ski Federation’s regulations, any athlete who wants to take part in the course of the race must pass the radius of the turn. In fact, if the gates pass through the athlete’s legs, it is considered a fault but it is not that much detectable.

Usually, cameras do not lose anything, but I do not know how the cameras did not record this fault. When I reached the finish line, I realised I had made a mistake, but I saw that my name was in the second round. That was temping, but I thought they would not announce my name, as my move was fault and nothing remains hidden from the referee’s point of view.

When I got to the finish line, I saw my name in the ranking which meant I could participate in the second run. I could make history and participate in the second run because this may never happen to me again during my professional career, but I decided to inform the referees about my fault based on my beliefs and the ethics.

Your move was reflected by various media across the world. Somehow, it was a great move for the world of skiing.

I do not know how to say this. Unfortunately, many people cheat these days. What I did was not a great thing, but the media paid great attention to it. I’m very happy about what I did.

According to Kalhor, the world championship is a major event in which all world champions participate, and for the first time in the history of Iran’s skiing, the country has been able to qualify for the second stage of the tournament.

Iran Produces New Anticoagulant Medication

Iran Produces New Anticoagulant Medication

Farhad Assarzadegan, an associate professor at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, says the new anti-clotting drugs serve as an appropriate alternative for Warfarin for treating heart problems and its arrhythmia (irregular heartbeats and abnormal heart rhythms).

“Warfarin serves as a two-edged sword and using it may increase the risk of brain blooding. So, the patients using it should always undergo regular tests,” he noted, speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the 11th Iranian Stroke Congress.

He said that the new anti-clotting drugs are supplied in two foreign-made and domestically-produced types, adding the latest drug produced in Iran would enter the market in the near future.

According to Assarzadegan, 85 percent of brain strokes occur due to clotting in arteries and the remaining 15 percent due to their rupture.

“There are various reasons behind clotting in arteries including heart problems that lead to some blood clotting. The pieces of clotting begin to move from heart towards arteries of brain paving the way for brain stroke,” he noted.

“Clotting in arteries and narrowing of vessels due to gradual sedimentation is the second reason. The third reason is high blood pressure and third-grade diabetes,” he noted.

Industrial Auctions Getting So Popular in Industry

Don’t you agree with us “willing buyer willing seller” is one of the best principles about commerce? We think so. Because every seller wants to make some money when they want to get rid of the things that they won’t use anymore.

On the other side of industry, every buyer wants to have useful tools cheaper. Then, what is the best solution for both of side on industry? The answer is very clear: Industrial auctions . They are so effective for this situation and it is very serviceable way for the ones who wants to reach the highest productivity with optimum industry costs.

Industrial Machinery Auctions Are Everywhere in Industry

Actually, industrial auction process is built on one point essentially: Presenting the best experience. At this point, categorization plays the starring role. Detailed categorization mentality provides good experience for buyers in industry, makes the commercial production tools more accessible for them. For example if an industrial auction company set up a very successful categorization, neither the sellers nor buyers lost themselves among lots of industries such like electrical industry, electronics industry, farming industry, heating and cooling industry, machinery industry, laboratory, scientific industry, auctions about fabrication and metalworking industries, printing machines industry, woodworking industry, machines for textile industry, food industry, package and labelling industries or etc. A web site which was designed as sorting-focused and have time based filters solves all the problems about the process and make the industrial machinery auctions ideal meeting points. Auctioneers give great opportunities with real time auctions, sorting all industrial machinery auctions by country or category and attract more buyers who look for optimum choices for the best productivity for industry.

Importance of Reliability of Auctioneers and Upcoming Industrial Auctions

Also, industrial machinery auctions inform business owners frequently. According to Peter Patel from Industrial Auction Hub which is one of the well-known industrial auction platforms on internet, trust and professionalism are the main columns of the relations between buyers and industrial auctioneers. They told that Industrial Auction Hub always announced all the details about new auctions on their web site to help the buyers by presenting right equipment and machinery on the right time.

Great Advices from Auctioneers to the Actors in Industry

Risks of industrial machinery auctions are similar with other auctions in industry, but it’s not so hard to overcome of them. Industrial auctioneers advise that if bidders research important details about the machinery or equipment you think to buy and reliability of industrial auctioneers. These points can reduce so many risks. It doesn’t take so much time to read something important about the product or search its manufacturing date and model number, right? Errr, something still go wrong? Don’t panic and call an expert before you bid for it. In addition to this, you can prefer to request papers and other necessary information about the background of equipment. Is it all? Not yet. Because you must know that sometimes you may face with some extra costs in industry. If demounting or shipping cost is the matter, these are added to the winning price. As you guess, these fees are changeable according to structure of industrial machine or equipment and the distance between auctioneer and bidder. At an industrial auction, costs which are sourced from removal and shipping processes are usually charged to buyers. So, if you don’t want to have a bad surprise, don’t forget this.

Iran Says US Must Rebuild Trust If It Seeks Talks

“The US is not after serious talks and it first needs to regain the lost trust,” Qassemi said, referring to frequent US calls for negotiations with Tehran.

Speaking in a meeting with the staff of China’s Global Times newspaper in Tehran on Thursday, Qassemi said the US is to blame for tensions in Tehran-Washington relations in the past decades.

“These problems were not started by Iran and they have their roots in unfair sanctions that the US has imposed on Iran against international norms …,” he said.

Qassemi said the US seeks to draw unlimited concessions from Tehran, and Iran cannot surrender to such a country.

He pointed to the US’ hegemonic policies and said, “If the US comes one step forward, it will take a second step tomorrow. The trend of global developments shows the US’ insatiable appetite, so one cannot surrender to Washington’s demands.”

The Iranian spokesman said developments around the world show that many countries are tired of the US unilateralism.

“The fact that China, Russia and Europe are politically standing against the US is a step forward that shows the world’s situation has changed,” he said.

Iran FM Says War with ‘Adventurist’ Israel Not Unlikely

“There is adventurism on Israel’s side, and adventurism is always dangerous,” Zarif said in an interview with the Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper published on Wednesday.

Iran is in Syria at the invitation of the Syrian government, while Israel is violating Lebanese and Syrian air space, as well as international law, Zarif said.

Asked about the possibility of a military conflict between Iran and Israel, he said he does not see that coming, adding, “but we cannot exclude the possibility.”

In his earlier remarks at the Munich Security Conference, Zarif had accused Israel of looking for war and warned that its actions and those of the United States were increasing the chances of a clash in the region.

In an interview with NBC News during his visit to Munich, Zarif also warned the US and its allies that it would be “suicidal” to go to a war with Iran.

He said the “same gang” behind the US invasion of Iraq in 2003 were “at it again” in pushing for war with Iran.

“I’m not saying [US] President [Donald] Trump’s administration, I’m saying people in President Trump’s administration are trying to create the same eventually and I believe they will fail,” the Iranian foreign minister said.

“But I think at the end of the day, some sense will prevail and people will find out that it’s suicidal to engage in a war with Iran.”

On February 13, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a short video recorded on the sidelines of an anti-Iran meeting in Warsaw, Poland, that the event “is an open meeting with representatives of leading Arab countries that are sitting down together with Israel in order to advance the common interest of war with Iran.”

Last month, Netanyahu had threatened that Tel Aviv complements the US’ economic pressures on Iran with its own actions “at the military level.”

Trump “is acting against Iran at the economic level and we here in Israel are acting against Iran at the military level,” Netanyahu said in an address to Israeli military cadets.

By military actions, Netanyahu apparently meant airstrikes against what Israel calls Iranian positions in Syria. Damascus says the attacks are part of Israel’s efforts to prop up terrorists in the face of army advances.

Netanyahu says the Tel Aviv regime’s forces have carried out hundreds of attacks in Syria over the past several years and will ramp up its fight following the planned withdrawal of US troops from the country.

His comments came after Trump said in January Iran “can do what they want” in Syria following his decision to withdraw US troops operating there, a move that sparked consternation in Israel.

“Iran is no longer the same country,” Trump said. “Iran is pulling people out of Syria. They can do what they want there, frankly, but they’re pulling people out. They’re pulling people out of Yemen. Iran wants to survive now,” he claimed.

Iran has been offering advisory military assistance to the Syrian government in its counter-terrorism battle at the request of Damascus.

The US, Israel, France, Britain and their regional allies such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Turkey and Qatar, instead, have been sponsoring terrorists in Syria since 2011 which has left the Arab country in ruins.

Iran’s Top Lawmaker, China President Discuss Boosting Ties

In the Wednesday meeting, Iran’s parliament speaker described China as one of Iran’s reliable partners and praised the long history of amity between the two nations.

For his part, the Chinese president emphasized the importance of broadening strategic cooperation with Tehran in all fields of mutual interest.

Larijani is on an official visit to China. He is accompanied by a high-level delegation including ministers, lawmakers and other senior Iranian officials.

Earlier, in a separate meeting with National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, Li Zhanshu, Larijani over the past two thousand years, the relationship between the two countries has never been tense.

In turn, Zhanshu said that the visit of the Chinese President to Iran was a turning point in the relations between the two countries, during which strategic agreements were signed and it shows the determination of the two countries for long-term cooperation.

Before this meeting, Iran’s Parliament Speaker Addressed students and professors at Renmin University of China in Beijing, saying that unbridled unilateralism is not acceptable to world nations, particularly Iran and China, in the 21st century.

Lashing out at Washington, he added the United States seeks to hit other nations, including the civilized people of China and Iran, by adopting a hostile attitude towards other nations in various economic forms, including unilateral sanctions, and the imposition of trade tariffs on exports of countries. Of course, it will not succeed, because in the 21st century, uncontrolled unilateralism is unacceptable to nations, especially the civilized people of China and Iran, and they will never accept it.

“The Islamic Republic is ready to provide the friendly country of China with our country’s unique capacities in various fields including infrastructure, energy, etc, to cooperate in belt-way project. In this way, we can move together to jointly build a belt-way and create a community with a common destiny. Also, on behalf of the people of Iran, I declare the readiness of Iranian parliament to use the parliamentary capacity of the two countries to play a joint role in belt-way project,” noted Larijani.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Larijani underlined that Tehran expects the remaining parties to the nuclear deal to fulfill their obligations under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

“Although the parties to the nuclear accord have turned down the illegal US request and tried to save it, we expect them to protect the pact and honor multilateralism,” he stressed.

US Seeking to Take 40 Tonnes of Gold Off ISIS’ Hands in Syria

Clashes are still underway between Syrian Kurdish fighters known as Syrian Democratic Forces and ISIS on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River in Deir ez-Zor province.

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said ISIS is trying to remain in the province and added the group is now besieged in a two-square km area.

That comes days after some opposition groups in Syria said the US-led coalition and the ISIS have reached an agreement to pave the way for the group’s remnants in the province to leave it.

The US and a number of its allies created a coalition in August 2014 under the pretext of fighting against ISIS. In the latest attack, the coalition targeted a refugee camp in eastern bank of Euphrates, leaving at least 70 civilians dead or wounded.

Quoting some reliable sources, the human rights group said the US-led coalition is launching airstrikes on the militant-held area to force them into moving towards Kurdish-held regions.

“In the militant-held area, there are at least 40 tonnes of gold and tens of millions of dollars,” the group said.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights the properties have been gathered from the areas which used to be under the control of ISIS.

“Some of the gold has been transferred to Turkey through Turkish mediators and ISIS commanders in touch with Turkish intelligence officials,” the group added.

The observatory maintains that the US-led coalition is seeking to force ISIS members into handing themselves in with the main goal of taking the properties off their hands.

At present, ISIS is using many Syria civilians in the eastern province of Deir ez-Zor as human shields. So, the US-led coalition bombardment of the area has sparked the deep concerns of many human rights groups inside and outside Syria.

Iran Says Grounds Prepared for Its Membership in Eurasian Union

In an address to a group of businesspeople from the private sector and Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, Reza Ardakanian said one of the main priorities of the government is attracting joint investments with foreign partners.

Amid the international sanctions imposed on the country, making investments in infrastructural areas is of great importance, he noted.

“To this end, joining to the Eurasian Economic Union could be very helpful,” he said.

According to Ardakanian, with the arrangements made so far, Iran and the union will hold a meeting in the next three months to discuss Iran’s membership.

“We hope the results of the meeting could be fruitful for our macro-investments,” he added.

Ardakanian said the Islamic Republic of Iran has braved the sanctions imposed on the country, preparing the ground for close cooperation between the public and private sectors.

“The government attaches significant importance to the private sector. We maintain that the Chamber of Commerce plays a key role in the upcoming accession of the Islamic Republic to the Eurasian Economic Union,” he added.

Back in December 2018, member states of the Russian-led Eurasian Economic Union formed a Free Trade Zone with Iran, preparing the grounds for Tehran’s long-awaited accession to the EEU.

The main advantage of the formation of the Free Trade Zone is reduction in import duties and establishment of a transparent trade environment.

‘Pakistan’s Anti-Terror Measures below Iran’s Expectations’

Iran’s Deputy Interior Minister for Security Affairs, Hossein Zolfqari, said Tehran is not satisfied with the measures taken by Pakistan to fight against the terrorists who carried out a suicide attack on a bus carrying the IRGC personnel last Wednesday.

He added that whenever such incidents occur, Pakistani officials declare they are taking action to fight the terrorists claiming they are pursuing the case.

“Of course, they have taken steps in these years, but given the types of threats and our expectations, Pakistan’s actions to confront the terrorists have not yet yielded any result,” underlined Zolfaqari.

Asked whether the Pakistani government has taken military action against the terrorists, he said, “To date, we do not have information indicating that there has been a specific action.”

Pointing out that those involved in the suicide attack were arrested, he said “the person who carried out the suicide attack was a Pakistani national, and other measures are being taken to fight against the terrorists.”

The suicide bombing occurred on 13 February 2019 on the Khash–Zahedan road in southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan Province of Iran. At least 27 IRGC members were killed and 13 others were wounded.

The terrorist group Jaish al-Adl has said it was behind the bombing. The bomber targeted a bus transporting personnel near the border with Pakistan. The Pakistani side of the border is a refuge for terrorist groups and drug smugglers.
