Danger Looms as Long as No Vaccine Developed for COVID-19: Iran

142 More Iranains Die of COVID-19: Ministry

Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi also said the campaign against COVID-19 in the country will continue until every single person infected with the virus is identified.

“It was predicted that Fars province will be gripped by a high number of infections, and it is expected that the concern will be allayed all infected people will be identified with the cooperation of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and the Provincial Governor’s Office as well as through the implementation of preventive measures,” he said in an extraordinary meeting of the provincial coronavirus headquarters.

The official expressed his gratitude to nurses and doctors at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences for their relentless efforts and sacrifices to fight the coronavirus.

“Fars is among provinces with a low infection rate when it comes to identifying infected people and individuals who have been in contact with them as well as isolating suspicious COVID-19 cases,” he added.

He said an important point is that Fars has a low fatality rate among coronavirus patients compared to other provinces across the nation.

“Prompt identification and treatment of patients in Fars province is another positive point,” he added.

Meanwhile, Provincial Governor Enayatollah Rahimi noted that the capacity of production of hygienic items, including masks and disinfectants, in Fars province has increased.

However, the provincial governor said one of the challenges in Fars is that private and charity hospitals in the province are on the verge of bankruptcy amid the coronavirus outbreak.

He urged all people to keep staying at home and avoid nonessential travel to help stem the spread of the virus.

How Social Media Influence Educational Process of Students

This is also very interesting from the perspective of exploring connections between social media and education! I find it fascinating to be able to explore some of these connections and got motivated to write this particular piece. That is why I am going to review the impact of social media in education and vice versa.

A strong sense of community

Social media serves as a great supporting tool for enhancing communication, and that is why I think that it can be seen as a clear benefit of synthesizing media and education. You may look for some interesting points on the importance of communication in college essay samples that can be found on Studyhippo.com. When it comes to education, it’s hard to overestimate the impact that the fact of being in the community has on one’s educational performance.

It was a no-brainer for me as I am an active user of social media myself, so it’s a firsthand experience. Students are often creating their own groups and chat rooms to share learning materials and discuss related topics. For example, a group of students was tasked with writing a project, so they create an online chat room and communicate via this channel outside the classrooms.

There is yet another important thing – social media creates opportunities for making new contacts that can have long-lasting positive effects such as better teacher-student relationships. Administrators and principals can utilize social networks in education to effectively provide all the interested sides with important news and announcements.

It won’t go away, so why not use it?

We all have heard that teachers and parents are often blaming social media for the lack of attention among students. While this may be true in some cases, it is not a universal truth. If you take a walk in a school or college, you’re highly likely to notice that the majority of students are fully dedicating their time to smartphones. This shows that social media is here to stay; we should use it to the best.

As mentioned before, teachers, administrators, and principals should at least try to use social media instruments in the educational process. Although we know about the use of online platforms for collecting assignments and stuff, there are more possibilities. After all, a teacher can use things such as Facebook events for notifying students about projects, assignments, and that sort of stuff.

The most daring teachers can try to use social media as a means of educating! For example, a teacher may create an online video lecture and distribute it among students so they can always have it available. Sounds quite awesome to me and is definitely more likely to be embraced by students as an alternative to classic classroom experience that can be tiresome.

Enhanced research process

There is no denial to the fact that social media can be a great instrument for various sorts of research. After all, it is so easy to create a public poll and gather data regarding various topics of interest. This instrument is can be used by a student and academic researcher alike, meaning that that media benefits everyone engaged in education.

Potential career benefits

Now this may be surprising, but students can potentially begin building their career portfolio through social media. Constant and continuous exposure of one’s educational background and academic achievements can be used as a ground for future cooperation with experts in different fields. This way, a student can begin building social credibility during the school or college years!

Conclusion

Social media is penetrating every aspect of human activities, and this includes educational process. Although some might think that social media is distracting students, there are way too many benefits of this phenomenon to ignore it. These platforms offer opportunities for enhanced communication between all the participants of the educational system, including students, parents, teachers, administrators, and principals.

It is also required to state that students are able to effectively share and distribute information through this communication medium. Both students and researchers are also able to use these online engines to gather data for future research. Some students might even begin building their career portfolios through social media.

Foreign Ministry Helping Iranian Nationals in Italy Return Home

Iran Vows Appropriate Response to US Interception of Mahan Air Flight

In a statement on Friday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi reacted to allegations made by some uninformed individuals regarding the return of Iranian university students from Italy.

He emphasized that the Iranian government is working in full coordination with its institutions to fight COVID-19 and reduce its repercussions.

“Following the coronavirus outbreak and cancellation of flights or closure of many borders, one of the tough missions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been to bring home Iranians interested in returning to their country, including university students,” he said.

“This was done through intense consultations with officials of relevant countries and in coordination with the health ministry and airlines, and efforts are still underway,” he said.

“It goes without saying that after the transfer of our dear fellow countrymen to the country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has no involvement in the enforcement of health protocols, and basically, such an important issue does not fall within the domain of the foreign ministry’s responsibilities and mission,” he said.

“It falls on the Ministry of Health to protect Iranian people’s lives and health, and all Iranian nationals must abide by the regulations and health protocols of the ministry under any circumstances,” the spokesman noted.

Iran Marks National Army Day without Any Parade

Iran Marks National Army Day without Any Parade

The parades of National Army Day, which took place across the country on Friday, showcased some of the Army’s equipment used to assist the country fight against the outbreak, including mobile hospitals, disinfection equipment and specially designed vehicles.

The convoys of military vehicles were dispatched to assist in disinfection operations and to distribute aid after leaving the premises of the march.

According to the latest numbers released by Iran’s Health Ministry on Thursday, 77,995 Iranians have contracted the disease, and 4,869 others have died. Another 52,229 have also recovered.

‘Army assisting frontline medical workers’

Addressing Army Day celebrations, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that the usual parades were not possible due to “health protocols”.

He said the Army, along with other branches of the armed forces, were standing side by side with the country’s health personnel in “protecting the lives of the people” from the outbreak.

“You were once in the frontlines and the citizens were behind it; however, it is now the health sector personnel which are on the frontlines and you who are trying to assist them from behind them,” he added.

The Iranian president praised the Iranian Army’s role in assisting the country in other times of need such as during natural disasters.

“Our Army is not a symbol of militarism but a manifestation of supporting the nation and upholding its national interests,” he said.

Also addressing the National Army Day celebrations, Chief Commander of Iran’s Army, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi said that the Army, along with the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps and the Police, were providing services in 49 cities across the country.

“I have to especially thank the more than 11,000 Army medical personnel serving alongside the country’s health workers,” he added.

“I assure the Iranian nation that the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will be a firm barrier against its enemies and will be patiently and passionately alongside the Iranian people,” he added.

‘Iran Army to receive indigenously made T-90 tanks’

This year’s different National Army Day celebrations come as the country’s annual military parades usually showcased the Army’s latest equipment upgrades.

Speaking a day earlier on the occasion of the Army Day celebrations, Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari, Commander of the Iranian Army’s Ground Forces, said new weapons will be supplied to the Army later this year as part of the “Labbaik 2” program.

The program will provide the force with equipment “fitting the Army’s new structure”, he said, including a new weapon replacing the Army’s widely used G3 rifle and three new machine guns.

“In the field of armor, we are currently working on developing the T-90 tank with assistance from the Armed Forces and the Defense Ministry,” he said, adding that tests were underway.

“We have added seven new upgrades on it, including stabilizers and biological defense systems, turning the tank to a future warfare weapon,” he said.

“We hope to receive the first series of tanks in October,” he added.

Brigadier General Ramezan Sharif said the process of the production of the coronavirus detection system will also be explained in the presence of media and experts.

“We thank God Almighty that despite unfair sanctions and the spread of the viruses of enmity and grudge of the US and its allies, the children of the Iranian nation, by God’s grace, and on the back their willpower and firm resolve as well as the development of their talents and creativity, are securing achievements day by day, especially in the field of science and technology, bringing further honour and dignity upon Iranians while triggering the awe and anger of domestic and foreign enemies and ill-wishers,” said general Sahrif, the spokesperson  for Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

He said the coronavirus detection system had been tested for more than 10 days in at least 10 hospitals and medical centres before being officially unveiled.
