Pompeo’s Anti-Iran Tweets ‘Psychotic’ Reaction to US Defeats: Official

Pompeo's Anti-Iran Tweets 'Psychotic' Reaction to US Defeats: Official

In a statement on Wednesday, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson described Pompeo’s recent tweets about Iran’s internal issues, which were filled with anger at Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, as a psychotic reaction caused by disappointment and depression following the US Department of State’s successive defeats and as an attempt to cover up those failures.

“Unfortunately, the US state secretary, who is witnessing the failure of the policy of maximum pressure and unilateralism on Iran more and more, is attempting desperately to retrieve part of the lost prestige of Trump’s regime by claiming to advocate human rights,” he noted.

The spokesman underlined that the US government itself has the darkest human rights record as there is no single day without protests from the American people against violence, discrimination and racism.

“In spite of the dire situation inside the US, Mr. Pompeo who has received training in fabrication, deception and lying at the CIA, is seeking to divert the public opinion’s attention based on ‘the bigger the lie, the more it will be believed’,” Khatibzadeh concluded.

His comments came after Pompeo slammed the execution of Iranian convict Navid Afkari as a despicable act, calling for consequences for what he called the Iranian government’s barbarity.

The US state secretary claimed that world leaders have taken the first step to counter Iran and have cancelled Foreign Minister Zarif’s European visits.

Zarif was due to visit Germany this week, but cancelled his visit for what the Iranian Foreign Ministry says was “logistical problems”.

How Medical Marijuana Is Useful For Treating Appetite Loss

On the other hand, the loss of appetite is something that makes a person weak, and he or she starts having various types of ailments owing to malnutrition and other related issues.

The loss of appetite is a very common symptom for people who are recovering from cancer or other ailments or the effect of certain medications. Some people also experience nausea and the urge to vomit when they try to eat. Interestingly, marijuana has shown some effectiveness in improving the lack of appetite and is attracting consumers who want to apply to the New Jersey medical marijuana program.

Medicinal cannabis and loss of appetite

Cannabis has long been associated with hunger. It is common for people who smoke cannabis to feel extremely hungry and they do consume quite substantial amounts of food. This boosting of appetite is associated with cannabinoids, which are complex chemicals found naturally in the cannabis plant and are known as THC. This particular phenomenon and this active cannabinoid have been a source of interest and of extensive research for boosting appetite, especially for patients who are being treated for cancer. The preparation of medical cannabis or medical marijuana to increase appetite, which has typically higher traces of THC, has shown very good results as far as improving appetite is concerned.

Understanding why we feel hungry

The science of feeling hungry is pretty interesting, and at the core of the process is leptin, a substance that is produced by the body, which actually suppresses the appetite. Leptin is the maker or breaker of appetite.

If some physical condition or some medication increases the leptin production the appetite gets suppressed. Medical cannabis uses neural networks and tricks the brain into believing that a person is hungry. This is particularly important for people who are suffering from some ailment and need to keep up their nutrition. It has also been noted that not only does the hunger level increase but also the food tastes better and more palatable. It is believed that this happens because THC increases the sensitivity of the nervous system which in turn activates the taste buds to a whole new level. The result is that the person not only does feel hungry but the food also tastes awesome.

Improvements with medical marijuana

Nausea and vomiting is a very common problem with people who have a lack of appetite, and this is also something that has been known to get better with medical cannabis. It is believed that the CB1 receptor sites of the endocannabinoid system get activated by cannabinoids, and this reduces food aversions.

Medical marijuana is fairly new and currently being looked into very closely as a possible strong solution for treating the problem of appetite loss. The initial results seem to be promising and it is believed that as we progress better solutions will be available.

How Police Ensure Safety, Security of Society and Its People

How Police Ensure Safety, Security of Society and Its People

Lurking dangers

Take, for instance, the simple act of going to the bank to deposit some money. You expect them to be safe there and it never crosses your mind the teller in front of you might be a thief or an embezzler. The same goes for many everyday occurrences. You simply expect the parking lot attendant will look after your car, just as you assume the hotel maid won’t be going through your stuff in your absence. Or how about going to a doctor, you don’t expect your physician to be a sex offender, do you?

Our belief that we’re safe comes from the assumption that the people we meet have been carefully scrutinized and have undergone and have access to a current police check before being hired. Yet, in Australia, police checks are mandatory only for a few sensitive fields. For all the rest, it depends on HR departments to do so.

Unfortunately, some decide not to bother with a proper background check and simply go with their guts. How was I supposed to know that guy had an extensive criminal record, right? Wrong, putting your trust in someone just because they have an honest face is a risky decision and can backfire spectacularly.

The benefits of running a police check

If you want to protect your business, your employees and your customers you should always go for a background check, even if it is not mandated by law. You want to make sure your company’s funds are safe, make sure you don’t hire a known fraudster or a scam artist. Would you even consider riding a cab with a drunk driver? Definitely not, so you should see to it that the drivers you hire for your company’s trucks don’t have a drinking problem. The list could go on and on but it all boils down to one thing, if you want to keep your business, your staff and your clients safe you should make sure you don’t hire any bad apples.

Although not mandatory in many fields, over the past few years there’s been an increase in companies making police checks a part of their hiring protocols. On the one hand, people understand just how important it is to provide a safe working environment and the safety of their customers and business partners. On the other hand, doing a background check has never been easier.

When you work with an online government approved agency all you have to do is upload the basic identity information of a prospective employee and in a couple of days you get a full national police check that compiles data from all the police databases around the country. If the report comes back clean you can be certain your new employee won’t put your company and staff at risk.

Music Festivals in Iran

Music Festivals in Iran

The rich entertainment value of music is such that makes it appealing to members of the society irrespective of their socioeconomic status. Whilst Iran has outlawed certain symbols of western culture, including gambling even if it’s online, it is home to a variety of religious, film, and music festivals providing ample opportunities for locals and tourists alike to soak in the contemporary Iranian culture. There are many reasons to love Iran and its rich musical and artistic heritage is one of the reasons to fancy the IRanian nation.

Fajr International Music Festival

It is an annual music festival celebrating the beauty of arts and culture with a focus on music. It has a competitive atmosphere where musical groups cutting across different genres like folk and classical music and from different countries especially European and Asian countries take turns in entertaining the audience in the festival which spans a 10 day period. The event spans several days and is hosted in multiple cities aside Tehran, the nation’s capital in order to enable those within and outside the capital to bask in the euphoria of the festival. Aside from the music, there are other side attractions such as lyrics award and also a music and media awards ceremony to recognize those who have contributed significantly to the entertainment and media industry. The festival was inaugurated in 1986 and has since gained recognition by UNESCO based who prides itself as an affiliate of the annual event.

Tehran Contemporary Music Festival

This is the pioneer festival of contemporary music in the Middle East which is a region with strong religious influences. The festival which kicked off in 2014 offers a fresh perspective to the genres of music hitherto popular in the region. Unlike other music festivals, the aim of this festival is not just to entertain but also to create awareness and stimulate interest in contemporary music in Iran. Just like the Fajr International Music Festival, the Tehran Contemporary Music Festival is international and enjoys performances from groups outside the nation. The festival features multiple events and the concerts are often separated into multiple categories hosted across different venues in Tehran. The peak of the festival is the acoustic performances of orchestras and soloists from Iran and other parts of the world.  The electro-acoustic sessions, sound installations help enhance the festival atmosphere during the course of the festival.

The Youth Music Festival or the National Festival of Youth Music is a celebration of young musicians in Iran. Just as the name implies, the festival unlike the other musical festivals in Iran is mainly for the youths as there is an age limit for those eligible to perform at the event. The age limit will be determined and advertised for musicians but is pegged within teenagers and young adults. The procedure is that interested artists will submit their applications prior to the date of the event after which the organizing committee will access the entries and determine the ones most qualified to perform based on the fixed requirements for the festival. For instance, since it is a national festival rather than an international, the organizers tend to consider applications from all the provinces in Iran and ensure each province is well represented at the festival. The term music and youth are almost complimentary for obvious reasons of strength and vigor. Iran has a significant youth population hence it can be unsurprising that participation and attendance figures for this festival will be high as applications by interested artists could be in thousands. Music genres such as dastaghi, folk and classics, and any other genre relative to the Iranian culture are highlighted at this festival. The aim is to promote Iranian music and encourage the musicians engaging in it. A team of experienced musicians will be engaged to access the musicians and their performances.

Music is life and is a piece of art we will all spend a sizeable part of our life appreciating. Art is qualitative and as such individual differences may factor in but with the plethora of music festivals in Iran, one or more of these festivals will almost certainly catch your attention. Tourists can win loads of free tickets to one of these experiences of a lifetime from one of the numerous sponsors of these festivals.

US to Suffer Humiliating Defeat This Weekend: Rouhani

US to Suffer Humiliating Defeat This Weekend: Rouhani

Speaking in a Wednesday cabinet session, President Hassan Rouhani said Washington failed in its attempts to reinstate a UN arms embargo as well as international sanctions on Iran, and these failures amount to major victories for Iran.

The US suffered ignominious defeats,” he said.

“Our people should pay attention. this Saturday and Sunday will be days of the Iranian nation’s victory and days of humiliating defeats for the US,” he added.

“So, I urge anti-Iran news channels abroad not to fabricate stories that would indicate that the US has made a claim and has waited for a month, so it can use this mechanism,” the president said.

“After all, no mechanism ever started in the first place to be producing any results,”
“I congratulate the Iranian nation, in advance, on the success that Iranians will secure on Saturday and Sunday, the same way that I congratulated Iranians on their resistance during the eight-year Iraqi imposed war on Iran [in the 1980s],” he added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the president fulminated against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain for normalizing their relations with Israel.

“They (Israeli authorities) are committing more and more crimes in occupied Palestine every day. How come you (the UAE and Bahrain) are extending your hands to Israel? Then you want to give Israel bases in this region. You will be responsible for all grave consequences of this move. Your action is against regulations and regional security,” he said.

Iran, Brazil to Sign 3 Agricultural Agreements

Iran, Brazil to Sign 3 Agricultural Agreements

Brazil’s ambassador to Iran, Rodrigo de Azeredo Santos, and head of the Public Relations Department of the Iranian Ministry of Agriculture held a meeting in Tehran on Tuesday as part of cooperation between the two countries in the agriculture and farming industries.

Stressing the need to employ the capacities of Iran and Brazil for growing trade ties, the two sides weighed plans to prepare the ground for the signing of three agreements covering phytosanitary measures and livestock health, as well as research cooperation with the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), which is affiliated to the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture.

Participants in the meeting also agreed that the two countries would hold three videoconferences to finalize the agreements before they will be formally signed in a joint committee session in future.

The officials then discussed plans to help the Iranian and Brazilian experts share experiences and technologies in agriculture.

They finally agreed on closer coordination to facilitate Iran’s import of corn from Brazil.

Iran Vows to Respond If US Makes Any New Strategic Mistake

Iran Vows to Respond If US Makes Any New Strategic Mistake

“We hope the US will not make a new strategic mistake, and if it makes any strategic mistakes, Iran’s resistance [front] will give an appropriate response,” Ali Rabiei said while slamming Washington’s policies against Iran.

Rabiei also lashed out at US President Donald Trump for making unfounded remarks about Iran.

“In the first place, it is regrettable that the president of a country which claims to be handling world management and order is making such baseless, straightforward, distorted and probably dictated comments,” he said.

“If you look at this text, you will realize that it is not based on a report by a foreign policy apparatus or an intelligence service. It is simply a hasty reaction to something heard on the grapevine,” the president said.

He said unsubstantiated claims by US officials also touched off the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“Our historical experience in our region also shows that remarks by the US government based on distorted reports triggered the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. We saw that the US started the Iraq war based on unfounded comments, and at the end US authorities announced that they had found nothing in Iraq (WMDs),” he said.

“Unfortunately, this is a common practice by the US, especially by the incumbent American president, which only stirs up tension in the region and upsets the psychological calm across the world,” he said.

“Such moves could only be a propaganda and election ploy. We urge Washington to avoid new adventures, not to provoke killings and not to disrupt psychological tranquility in the region to win the upcoming presidential election,” he added.

“Such a move is unforgivable and amounts to a betrayal of humanity.

He also touched upon Washington’s assassination of top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani.
“This disgrace cannot be obliterated and the Iranian nation will never forget this,” he added.
