MP: Iran’s drone capability non-negotiable

Iran drones

Mohammad Hassan Asghari said the US is trying to obtain concessions from Iran in the Vienna talks by portraying Tehran as a threat and by imposing sanctions on the drone industry of the country.

Asghari added that Iran’s drone might has turned the Islamic Republic of Iran into a regional power.

The MP said Iran’s radar-evading unmanned aircraft are capable of doing long-range and reconnaissance flights and engage in combat operations including bombing enemy targets.

According to Asghari, the Islamic Republic’s UAVs are capable of dodging the Zionist regime’s Iron Dome missile shield and that’s why the regime is so worried about the matter.

Asghari added that Iran is ready to share its drone know-how with regional countries.

The parliamentarian then said the US should know that Iran’s drone industry cannot be stopped.

He maintained that regional countries are well aware the Iranian drones pose no threat to the region and it’s the US and the Israeli regime that are the source of regional instability.

Asghari’s comments came a day after the US House of Representatives passed a bill that demands an end to Iran’s drone production.

Iran Covid: 12 killed, 375 infections

COVID in Iran

On Wednesday and Thursday, Covid fatalities from the Coronavirus was 7. It was the first time in more than two years that the daily death toll became single-digit.

This is while the disease killed hundreds daily during its peak a few months ago.

The downward trend has been attributed to a nationwide vaccination campaign in Iran that has seen the injection of nearly 150 million doses of Covid jabs.

The vaccines were partly produced inside Iran.

The Iranian Health Ministry says the country is self-sufficient in vaccine production and is even capable of exporting jabs.

‘Saudis must first prove good will to Iran before resumption of ties’

Iran Saudi Flags

In an interview with IRNA, Hassan Hanizadeh said “important dossiers” have been brought up in the talks, including Saudi Arabia’s acts of sabotage targeting the resistance axis, its alignment with the Zionist regime, and its war on Yemen.

“As stated by officials, solutions have been found for many of the issues” hindering Tehran-Riyadh ties, he said The expert said thanks to the “positive” outcome of the fifth round of talks in Iraq, Tehran and Riyadh are set to issue a 10-article statement on resolving their differences.

Then, a “historic” meeting is expected between the Iranian and Saudi foreign ministers in Iraq or another third state in the “near future.”

Hanizadeh warned that Israel may make attempts to prevent a rapprochement between Tehran and Riyadh, which the regime sees as a threat to its presence in the Persian Gulf.

The observer said soured ties with the US could be also a driving force behind Saudi efforts to resume ties with Iran.

Iran, he said, has repeatedly extended a hand of friendship to the Persian Gulf Arab countries in a bid to soothe tensions and end foreign meddling in the region, adding, “It is now Saudi Arabia’s turn to show good will in talks with Iran.”

Pro- Intifada body: World must take stand against Israel’s desecration of al-Aqsa

Al Aqsa Mosque

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Iran-based Secretariat renewed the warning against attempts by global Zionism and the far-right administration in Tel Aviv to Judaize al-Aqsa Mosque, Islam’s third holiest site, and cleanse the occupied territories of their Palestinian identity.

It warned the Zionist regime to “wake up from the feigned sleep” and not to imagine that they can strip the Palestinians and all Muslim and Christian nations of their legitimate rights in al-Aqsa Mosque and occupied Quds as a result of normalization with a number of Arab governments.

“The desperate Zionist regime must know that the resistance, the Palestinian nation and the youths in the occupied territories and the [broader] region are standing even more prepared than before to defend al-Aqsa Mosque and liberate the occupied territories,” it added.

The Secretariat, it added, seriously warns against the repercussions of the Zionist regime’s brutal atrocities and “renews the call for Muslim parliaments and non-governmental organizations to prevent further desecration of al-Aqsa Mosque, which could lead to more tensions and challenges in the region, through condemning the Zionist regime’s acts of aggression and crimes in al-Quds.”

In recent days, Israeli military forces have intensified their atrocities at al-Aqsa Mosque as Palestine prepares to mark Nakba (Catastrophe) Day, when the Israeli entity, in mid-May 1948, proclaimed existence in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Three killed in stabbing attack near Tel Aviv

Stabbing attack Tel Aviv

Police said the attacker fled in a vehicle. Security forces set up roadblocks in the area around where the killings occurred in the town of Elad.

The Magen David Adom emergency service announced three people were killed and four others were wounded; two of the wounded were in serious condition.

Police added the incident, which occurred as Israelis celebrated “independence day”, appeared to be a “terrorist attack”.

Elad’s mayor, speaking on television, called on residents to stay indoors while security forces were still operating.

The majority of Elad’s residents are members of Israel’s ultraorthodox Jewish community, known as Haredim.

Alon Rizkan, a medic with Magen David Adom rescue service, described a “very difficult call” when he arrived at the scene in Elad.

He stated he identified three dead people at various locations and four others who were wounded, two seriously.

The United States announced it “vehemently” condemned the incident and was in contact with Israeli authorities.

“This was a horrific attack targeting innocent men and women,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement.

“Our hearts are with the victims and loved ones of those killed, and we wish those injured a speedy recovery,” he added.

Tensions between Israelis and Palestinians have soared in recent weeks, with attacks in Israel, military operations in the occupied West Bank and violence at Jerusalem’s most sensitive holy site.

Hamas, the group which governs the besieged Gaza Strip, lauded the attack and linked it to Israeli security forces’ raids in occupied Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque – one of Islam’s holiest sites – but did not claim responsibility for it.

“The storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque can’t go unpunished,” Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said.

“The heroic operation in Tel Aviv is a practical translation of what the resistance had warned against,” he added.

Israel marked its independence day on Thursday, a festive national holiday in which people typically hold barbecues and attend airshows. For Palestinians, the anniversary of Israel’s 1948 declaration of independence marks the Nakba, or catastrophe, when at least 750,000 people were violently and forcefully expelled from their homes and villages in historical Palestine.

The Al-Aqsa Mosque compound has been at the centre of weeks of violence following a series of Israeli incursions into the holy site, which began at the start of the holy month of Ramadan.

Earlier on Thursday, Israeli police entered the site to clear away Palestinian protesters following Jewish visits that had been paused for the Muslim holidays resumed. Police fired rubber-coated bullets as some Palestinians sheltered inside the mosque.

The Palestinian Red Crescent emergency service confirmed two Palestinians were taken to a hospital after being hit with batons.

The surge of attacks and confrontations during the past month has raised fears of a slide back to a wider conflict similar to last May’s 11-day Israeli assault on Gaza, in which more than 260 Palestinians in Gaza and 13 people in Israel were killed.

Israel captured the West Bank in the 1967 Middle East war and has established dozens of illegal settlements where nearly 500,000 settlers reside, often under heavy Israeli military protection.

Settler attacks against Palestinians and their property are a regular occurrence in the West Bank, as well as in occupied East Jerusalem.

The Palestinian leadership wants the West Bank as part of a future state and views the illegal settlements as a major obstacle to resolving the longstanding conflict

‘Iran’s daily production at South Pars gas field to reach 14 mcm by year end’

South Pars gas field

Karim Zobeidi, the NIOC’s director of corporate planning, told IRNA that “efforts are being made to achieve the goal of producing 14 million cubic meters [of gas] on a daily basis at Phase 11 of the South Pars gas field” shared with Qatar by March 20, 2023, when the Persian year of 1401 comes to an end.

Zobeidi added that the NIOC is making efforts to lay the groundwork for “maximum production” at the South Pars gas field and complete the development projects at Phases 13, 22, 23 and 24, as well as the refinery at Phase 14.

The NIOC official also said work was underway in the country to fulfill the objective of producing 220,000 barrels of crude per day from the South Azadegan oil field, near the Iraqi border, by the end of this Persian calendar year.

By April, he added, Iran managed to increase oil production at various fields to 3.8 million barrels daily, despite the tough US sanctions designed to paralyze the country’s energy sector.
