Iran’s DM Urges Muslim Unity to Restore Security to Islamic World

Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan congratulated his Muslim counterparts on Eid al-Fitr, and hoped for restoration of calm and security to the Islamic world in light of unity among Muslim nations.

In separate messages on Tuesday, Dehqan expressed the hope that cooperation and unity among Islamic nations and governments would help security and calm prevail in the Muslim world again.

Eid al-Fitr, also called Feast of Breaking the Fast, is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims around the world.

Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar.

On the day of Eid al-Fitr, Muslims attend prayers in congregation, listen to sermons and give Zakat al-Fitr or donations to the poor.

While a number of Muslim countries celebrated the Eid on Tuesday, most Muslims around the world, including Iranians, will mark the occasion on Wednesday.
