IAEA not to disclose confidential information: Amano

To protect confidential information, we have a regime which we consider serious and will adhere to, Amano told Iranian MPs.

Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano said Sunday that the agency is committed to not disclosing any confidential information.

“The agency respects confidential issues, because it deems it serious,” Amano said at a session of parliament’s JCPOA Review Committee in Iran.

“To protect confidential information, we have a regime, which we consider serious and will adhere to,” Amano said in his meeting with Iranian lawmakers.

The UN nuclear chief further referred to Tehran’s voluntary implementation of the Additional Protocol, and assured the country that the IAEA will address the issue without any discrimination or exception.

“We adhere to the statute of the Safeguards Agreement, and are personally committed to cooperation with Iran in a bid to build international trust on (Iran’s) nuclear program,” he added.
